Herman is a small brewpub in the Laurentians that makes some of the better beer in Quebec. That tells me a lot about the respect for Herman's beers. John is the guy in charge, and always a pleasure to chat about their latest offerings, restaurants, and music. The small space is very comfortable, and children are welcome. In winter, people cross-country skiing on the adjacent P'tit Train Du Nord trail take off their skis outside the front door and enjoy beers. Herman makes a variety of many different styles, usually 7 or 8 on tap, and others that are canned for take out. Food is limited to basically snacks. There is a spacious outdoor terrace, big portion of it is covered and one can safely consume a pint during rainy summer day or hide from stronger sun. The pub offers food, the menu is OK, but don't expect anything else than typical pub food with no real healthy options. Regardless we came for the beers and managed to try most of them. First you can get a taster of the eight beers available on tap. Then you can buy variety of cans for experiments at home, which we did as to celebrate Canada Day in style. Unfortunately my favorite Hazy Camper IPA was not available that day. Farnham also offers few amazing hard seltzers that are worthy trying. The staff is super nice, but a little bit slow. Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit. We tried la muchacha, le p'tit train, and la blanche des anges... all very decent, and served cold. It's nice they offer half-pints so it's easy to try different beers. The food menu is pretty large, and I was a bit skeptical of the quality. We ordered a poutine with duck, and the Quebecoise tagine. The poutine was on the saltier side, but hit the spot. The tagine was a bit of a surprise... I was expecting something small, but it was a large portion cooked and served in a tagine! It was with lamb, root vegetables and couscous - super comforting for a cold night. We had to take about half the food to go, as the portions were quite large. A decent spot for dinner if you are in the area!

We were personally welcomed at our table by a man (who we assume was the owner or manager) and it was five star experience up until we left. We had a great server named Julie (attentive and friendly). To eat we had the maple chicken sandwich with barbecue fries and tempura shrimp with Parmesan fries. My mother really enjoyed her shrimp and my sandwich was incredible!! The Parmesan fries were finger licking good. My mom really enjoyed the craft beer she got as well. On this day there was a live performer (singing and playing the guitar) we had such a good time. On our second day here I ate the same burger but had the Parmesan fries instead (I like them way better than the barbecue ones) and my mother opted for a chicken pesto wrap. On Saturday we got to enjoy our meal outside by the water and the weather was perfect, we left happy customers again. I feel like the prices were reasonable. I can't wait to visit again!!
