The 2022 winter beerfest was cancelled and rescheduled to spring due to Covid. I get that. What is reprehensible is their customer service. The person monitoring their Facebook page told me to email and three emails and almost 3 weeks later they just ignore all my emails. You think maybe by now they'd have a procedure, but clearly what they intend to do is keep everyone's money whether they can attend on the new date or not and can't even face their customers. Great business practices. Photos below show messages are being received in messenger. What a bunch of asshats. I'm not the only one they are blowing off. Search the comment sections of their event. Just know in advance what kind of people you are doing business with.

This was my first Beerfest. I cannot believe that I actually purchased the tickets blindly. I…read moresearched and searched but could not find anything on the web to explain to me exactly what I was getting myself into. The Beerfest website that was up was ridiculously vague. But, I thought my boyfriend would really enjoy the event just by the name alone. And, he did! We really had a good time and I do believe that it was well worth the $35 ticket price for the beer tasters! Now, here is what I don't feel was worth it. I was the Designated Driver. I paid $15 for my ticket and I received a $5 voucher for food and beverage to be used at some specific food stand. Never did figure out which one or ones that I could use my voucher. Then, I wanted a soft pretzel at some point in the night and the pretzel alone was $5.25. Doesn't quite make the $5 voucher I received seem worth it. I just don't understand the purpose of paying $15 to get in to an event in which I was just paying for the atmosphere basically. Which was extremely loud and somewhat unorganized. I think the planning could have been better. I wanted a t-shirt from the event, but they were out of every size but medium by the time we found where we could purchase them. And, I too walked through some hellacious beer farts! Whew! I honestly believe with a little more "perks" for Designated Drivers and a little more organization and planning that this event could be one of the most popular and profitting events in Columbus!! And next year, we're going to be purchasing the VIP tickets to get a nicer, glass souvenir cup and making some of our own nifty pretzel necklaces!!

This fun 5k run/walk/job and 20 mile bike 'tour' (not race) was on a warm, mid Septmber, Saturday…read moremorning. It was definitely more fun then competitive. After completion, every participant got to enjoy live entertainment, great food (picnic style,burgers, chicken and veggie burgers, salads, chips, fruit, dessert, etc) and beverages after the event. Beverages included kegs of Killians, CBC, Amstel Light, etc. Most of the participants were Abercrombie employees and friends of, which really enhanced the experience. It was like one big team cheering each other on. It was truly a great event that I will be a part of each year forward. All funds raised through the Challenge support the Ohio State University Medical Center's Program for Health.

Never been to downtown Hilliard before. Enjoyed seeing my favorite bakery Crumbz Cakery set up…read morethere. The ladies even remembered me. Some national chains like Chick-fil-A, Dave & Buster's, and Max & Erma's had booths. Only a few local businesses were involved so a little disappointed. Did get to try the tacos at Local Cantina and mini popsicle at Diamonds. Great idea to get more people to see this downtown, but it was not crowded. Hope to go to other sites in this series to learn more about Cbus.

We found out about this via an Elite Yelp email. It was said that since we were Elite that the…read moreregistration fee would be waived. My wife and I signed up and the $10 registration fee was waived because we were Yelp Elite. Maybe the fee is the reason there weren't that many people at this event. When we arrived we were told that we could register for free but since we had registered ahead of time it just made it easier/quicker to get registered. That was rather odd! Now all of a sudden the event didn't seem very special. There were a dozen different places that were on the card as a place to visit. Some of the places were having a special and others were giving out small sugary snacks. Chick-fil-a was the only one giving out actual food and it was 2 chicken nuggets. The email said, "enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and pick up your passport to discounts and samples" There was Chick-fil-A(nuggets), Max&Ermas(cookies), Crumbz(various confections) they were really late and didn't get setup until a few minutes before 6:00. Im not sure where the hors d'oeuvres were. Don't get me wrong, we had an enjoyable evening and enjoyed getting out of the house but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. We did also each get to choose a random envelope with a gift card to a local Hilliard business. I got a gift card to Ten Pin Alley.

Live music outdoors on warm summer evenings- does it get any better? In my opinion, it does NOT-…read moreespecially when the organization, Downtown Columbus, brings in some of Columbus's best musicians to play free concerts at the Hyatt capital Square. The happy hour shows take place every Thursday evening throughout July and August on the patio of the hotel, which sets up an outdoor bar and provides table-side service for the duration of the show. I've attended several shows the past few years and appreciate the quality of music we can experience for free. Not to mention, the parking meters are also free after 6, so arriving just after rush hour (when street parking is permitted) could score you a great parking place right on High or State Street. I've had really good memories from this event over the past few years; meeting a bunch of friends in the cool hours of an otherwise sweltering day. Grabbing a few drinks and appetizers. Hearing great music. It's one of the free music summer series that I really look forward to. Party on State is yet another wonderful, free musical event provided to those of us lucky enough to be in Columbus!

I feel really awkward reviewing a charity event, so please don't take this as mean-spirited…read morecriticism--but rather, feedback to hopefully help one of my favorite events get back on track. I've been coming to Slice Of Columbus for about 8 years, and I look forward to it every time. It has always been a relatively chill event: tasting pizza, drinking beer, listening to live music, and supporting a good cause (Nationwide Children's Hospital). I was thrilled when it moved to the Commons, which has so much space for hosting events. But this year was different. I'm not sure how to better say this, but this year was a disaster--IMO. Here's what went wrong: -There were simply too many people. I could understand it better if this were an open event where you couldn't predict the attendance, but this is a ticketed event. The organizers were in complete control and sold too many tickets. -Because of the size of the event, the lines were disgusting. Ridiculously long. Almost every line had a 20-30 minute wait--for a teeny tiny slice of pizza! -In addition to being the biggest crowd ever, SOC decided to heavily market this year's event toward kids and families. Part of me is definitely a hater and loved how "adult" this event felt in the past, but I understand wanting to make it family-friendly. Here's the problem though... they already oversold the event, and then they attracted truckloads of families. Imagine the Commons completely slammed and hundreds of strollers pushing through the park. Everything moves a bit slower with kids (no hate, I swear), so this definitely slowed the lines. -While we're talking about kids, there were so many kid activities happening on the west side of the park. The pizza lines were so long that they kept running into all the kids! -The number of attendees appeared to have doubled, but the number of pizza vendors did not. Yep, you guessed it--another factor in the miserably long lines. -The vendors each brought several types of pizza, and with long lines filled with lots of kiddos--making a decision took longer than it should have. -The beverage situation is crazy. At first glance, it looks like you need a ticket for any drink. But then you can magically buy water without one. It's confusing. This is another case of bigger not being better. Although more people means more money, sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the good of the event--and for the experience of the people attending. If it's a great experience, they'll come back next year. Or you can cram as many people into the event as possible and risk having many of them never return.

How nice of an event is this! Totally free and next to the children's park.. So bring the kiddies…read more September in Harrison West is sweet! You can bring your chairs or blankets, hang out and listen to some free music. There is also a food truck in case you didn't pack your own snacks. Come out and enjoy!

The better half says it was great, way better than last year…read more We really enjoyed the event moving outside and WOW, what GREAT weather for it this year! They really lucked out with that! They had a number of new vendors this year versus last. The better half found/tried several new beers that he really enjoyed. He also liked the ticket prices this year, they were much more reasonable than last year. He was able to get much more with the tickets we had over last year. The added space of being outside really helped with the crowding. Last year was unbearable wandering around upstairs. No one really good to sit and you just battled walking around people trying to stand and drink. Two thumbs up!!

Without a doubt, Microbrew Festival is my favorite Columbus festival and I await it every year with…read moreeagerness. For three years' running, my friends and I have gone on Friday night and gotten tipsy (to say the least) on amazing craft beer from around central Ohio. In 2012, they moved Microbrew Festival outside, which made it easier to get fresh air and to navigate (though it did mean I tried less beer, since I didn't just immediately hop in line after getting a pour). For $20, you get 10 tasting tickets (and at some breweries, you can get a 5 oz. pour for just one ticket) + a $5 North Market food voucher and a commemorative pint glass. As frugal beer festivals go, this one definitely ranks high. If you haven't been to Microbrew Festival yet, put it on your calendar for next year. There's some good stuff, and breweries bring out the imperials, the barrel aged beers, and some other tricks up their sleeves.

I just went to the Columbus Museum of Art annual fundraiser. There are two parts to the event: Art…read moreBall-$500 ticket which includes a sit down dinner, open bar, a band, dancing and desserts all night. And ArtFUSION-a$100 ticket, young professional mixer with heavy hors d'oevres, open bar, music, dancing and desserts all night. $60 of the Art FUSION ticket was tax deductible! Art FUSION was held in the Museum's sculpture garden on top of the pond! It was covered with clear floor panels. The food was delicious and the drinks were plentiful. The signature drink, the PomFiz Fusion was extremely refreshing and easy to drink. It consisted of pomegranate juice, champagne and pomegranate seeds. Try it at home...delish! It was an Ohio State football game night, so to accommodate, the museum set up a big screen theater which broadcast the game. Following the Art Ball dinner, Art FUSION guests were encouraged to mingle with Ball guests and to walk through the new exhibit: The Ohio State University's Objects of Wonder Exhibition. During which dancing, music, desserts and the open bar continued to entertain. This is an annual event and would highly recommend attending! At first thought, the $100 ticket price seems steep, but after considering the drinks, food, entertainment, networking, art and fun, it's more than appropriate!
