Went for colonoscopy, booked 7:30 am appointment. No waiting. Everyone from the front desk to the Doctor were great. Highly recommended.

Dr. Farhat is very conscientious and takes time to explain everything in detail - something most doctors overlook.

I felt Andrea, my PA , was very good at listening to the issues and had several very good solutions on the approach.

While Dr. Alexandra Guillaume at Stony Brook Gastroenterology and Hepatology may be a qualified…read morephysician, she has very little respect for her patients' time. Her inability to properly manage her clinical schedule is unprofessional and disrespectful to those seeking her care. Unfortunately, her inexperience in time-management skills reflects poorly on the entire Stony Brook Medicine system. For our first consultation visit, Dr. Guillaume kept us waiting for 2 hours in the reception room, with no one coming out to offer an apology or a reason for the delay. If I had not visited the receptionist window after 2 hours to remind them we were still waiting, we might never have been seen. At check-in for the next visit (2 months later), I was assured by the receptionist that the doctor was "ONLY running 20 minutes late". After 40 minutes of waiting, I was told by a rather rude nurse that Dr. Guillaume would be at least another 15 minutes. When she asked me if I wanted to reschedule, I chose instead to terminate our relationship and request my $70 copay back. I left the office of Stony Brook Gastroenterology and Hepatology disappointed in the poor service, and determined never to return. Disrespectful professionals who do not value their patients' time do not deserve our patronage, no matter how much smarter they may believe they are. There are plenty of qualified medical professionals who understand that the doctor-patient relationship is a two-way street, where your time is just as valuable as theirs. Don't allow unprofessional "professionals" to ruin your day, even if they have MD after their name.

After a frustrating 15 months of dealing with a grossly distended abdomen that looks completely out…read moreof place on my trim athletic body, I really needed a doctor with extensive experience, capable of thinking outside the box, and one who would patiently listen to me and answer my questions. I made an appointment with Dr. Eugene Coman, gastroenterologist, and had an office visit on May 30, 2024. I chose Dr. Coman based on all the terrific reviews I found on many different medical review sites. Most of the reviews showed a pattern of highly satisfied patients. They felt Dr. Coman was a good listener, very patient, great at returning calls promptly, and had the ability to solve tough problems that other doctors missed. I did not receive any of that. My office visit consisted of a 10-minute talk with Margaret, the PA. At the end, Dr. Coman walked in and spent no more that 2 minutes with me. He said 4 things: you look great, there's probably nothing wrong with you, you need to get a CT scan, and I'm not going to talk to you or answer any questions until after I have seen the scan results. When I tried to ask a question, he cut me off and repeated the fact that he would not answer any questions. I tried one more time but was once again cut off. When I asked if I should make a follow up appointment to go over the results, he said no, he would call me. I left his office feeling terribly dissatisfied. He didn't let me speak! So I had the CT scan with contrast dye at Stony Brook Radiology on June 13, 2024 and the results were available the same day. I never heard from the doctor. Nothing. He never followed up on my care. The scan results have been available for almost a month. I am 68 years old and never have I ever complained about any doctor's professional medical conduct. This is a first for me. I wanted Dr. Coman to help me figure out how to reduce the size of my abdomen and how to manage the constant moderate to severe constipation. He spent 2 minutes with me and ordered a CT scan. That's the extent of my visit with Dr. Coman. Dr. Coman submitted a claim to UnitedHealthcare for $736 under billing code 99204. This billing code is used for a new patient office visit, 45 to 59 minutes in length. He also submitted a claim for $21 under billing code 82272. This code is used for stool analysis for blood. THERE WAS NO STOOL ANALYSIS, so this looks like fraud to me. Dr. Coman is in the process of billing me $40 for my copay. I do not plan on paying it. He did not perform competently or professionally and provided no follow up with me whatsoever, despite his promise to do so. This was clearly the worst doctor experience I have ever had.
