The nurse looked bewildered and said the doctor hadn't even reviewed my chart yet. Mind you this is a post surgery check up and other issues. SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED. HORRIBLE customer service. They NEVER return your calls. I had abnormal liver counts, was having digestive issues, and I left THREE MESSAGES for someone to please call me back so I could schedule an imaging scan. THEY NEVER CALLED ME. I found a gastro with Mather, and I will never use this place again. They also REFUSE to implement a patient portal, citing its a HIPAA violation. It's NOT a HIPAA violation, because these sites are encryption protected, and a lot of medical practices use them. The portals are specifically created for the medical field. I want to say the doctors and staff who took me in for my procedure were great. But first, you have to get through the front desk staff that make the experience unfairly unbearable. (suite D. You know who you are.) I was waiting in line behind others trying to check in to my procedure on my phone, when I heard "MAAM" loudly and aggressively, one of the ladies at the front desk shouted pretty angrily at me to get my attention, and then demanded equally as nastily that I sign in. I don't know what would possess a person to be so weirdly rude to a total stranger just waiting in line behind others while filling out check-in as instructed. I assume they're underpaid and overworked, but that's a huge no thank you for me. read more

I went to have a colonoscopy on Monday with Dr. Rachana Oak. First off, I had a RN come and get me, her name was BeeBee. She was awesome. Funny, made me feel relaxed, knew her stuff AND did the IV and I never felt it. Not even a mark today. Then they bring you into an area that reminded me of an ER with the curtain around you. In there I had a young lady hook me up with heart monitor and BP. Another sweetheart. I cannot remember her name but she was beautiful. Then the anestheiologist came in, sweet lady, then Dr. Oak came in. It was all so comforting. Then boom, I'm brought into a room, roll over on your left side, they put my oxygen on, check my BP, and then give me a dose of sleepytime... lol and out I went. I woke up in the area with the curtain, Dr. Oak came to talk with me (I can't remember anything she said LOL). They gave me my d/c papers, called Stan to tell him where to get me, they walkd me out and that was that. One hour. I would recommend them 100%. Honestly. I am the biggest baby, yes even at 62, and every single person I encountered that morning were sweet as could be. Thank you all very much. I am very grateful to each and every one of you. Dr Bajaj and all of his office staff are AMAZING! it is easy to set up an appointment, you are politely greeted when you are there, Dr Bajaj is very timely yet still spends as much time with you as needed, insurance department is very accessible and respond promptly to a billing question I had, the patient portal is easily accessible and you can request med refills and they answer timely and the meds are always at the pharmacy, OFFICE STAFF IS THR BEST OFFICE STAFF I HAVS EVER ENCOUNTERED- very kind, welcoming, and caring, and the the list goes on and on! Dr Bajaj is also very knowledgeable - after seeing a handful of different GIs in an inpatient setting I finally got referred to him from a friend and I couldn't be happier with the care he gives me both professionally -and medically, and his bedside manner is TOP notch! highly recommend this office and Dr Bajaj! read more

This office has gone downhill dramatically. The staff has ruined this practice and it's heartbreaking to see. No one picks up the phone, no one returns phone calls. In person, the staff is one of the most cold, rude, standoffish I've ever encountered. They do not care that we are chronically ill and in pain. The office staff have been contacting non-approved people with personal information of mine. I need to switch doctors as they rarely ever send in prescriptions! Or if they do, it's for a 3 month- $300 supply something the Dr just wanted to "try". Why is this staff so miserable? What is going on in this office?! read more

No one looks forward to a colonoscopy, when you have to have one, this this the place. Dr. Singh is wonderful, I have been his patient for 20 years. His current staff that worked with me this week included RN's Joannah, and Bebe, also Ed, MA and Dr. Shetty, all were professional, friendly, and eager to answer any questions, and be as helpful as they could be. They made me feel like I was the only patient coming in that day, and that doesn't happen in most medical facilities these days. It's a great team, they contacted me the next day to see that all was okay, and provided me with more info on what to do if there was any discomfort. I highly reccomend this practice. Today I was at Brookhaven Gastro Associates escorting my 91 year old mother to see Dr Pillai regarding tests she had done. Dr Pillai was wonderful. He discussed the test findings with my mother and I. He was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful bedside manner with my mother. I would highly recommend this practice as well as Dr. Pillai for medical problems one may be experiencing. I also want to compliment the office staff, who were wonderful and very efficient in answering questions/ providing us with needed paperwork. A well run office! read more

The front desk staff are extremely unfriendly and un accommodating. Because of covid they had a sign outside the door saying to call before entering, I called 3 times and was ignored each time so I just went in and there wasn't even anybody in the waiting room, they were all on their personal phones watching videos or taking while the office phones rang. One of the doctors diagnosed me with a chronic illness and they wanted to start me on IV immunosuppressants. I went to a different doctor to get a second opinion and I don't even have the disease that they diagnosed me with and there is absolutely no reason for me to be taking immunosuppressants. I also expressed my concern for taking such a heavy medication that suppresses my immune system without trying something else first since I work in healthcare and I'm always around communicable diseases and my concerns were completely dismissed. read more

Had and upper and lower STAFF WAS PERFECT From check In to my walk to the car(with a driver of course) I have to say that Sam MA was FANTASTIC! I'm very bottom line....Not one issue. I can't rave enough about Brookhaven Gastro. The office staff is amazing, caring and so professional. If I leave a message, I'm called back almost instantly, and they always do everything they can to help with whatever is needed, even fighting insurance companies for authorization of prescriptions and procedures. And the doctors! My doctor is Dr. Zucker who couldn't be more amazing. I have ulcerative colitis, and when I had a long period of time with many problem, Dr. Zucker called my home daily to see how I was and determine what I needed. And he'd even call on his day off! You just don't find doctors like this. I am so grateful for the care I receive from Brookhaven Gastro. I was very disappointed with the service I received at this office. It was nearly impossible to get in touch with a medical assistant for issues I was having with a prescription. Over a 4 week period I called at least 6 times to speak with a medical assistant, either leaving a voice mail which would be ignored or they would tell me that they will look into it and get back to me soon, but they never would call me back. I ended up going to another gastroenterologist because it seemed as if this office did not care at all about me as a patient. read more

My husband received a phone call at 10:30 at night after drinking the liquid and not eating all day. It seems that their would be no anesthesiology for his appointment the next morning and they had NO backup. However, if he wanted it done without the anesthesia he can still have his appointment.. This is after me his wife finally getting him to make the appointment after months of nagging. He also lost two days of work. I was speechless that they would cancel late at night and the night before after someone did two days of prep and the diarrheah and anxiety that goes with it. They acted like they were just cancelling a hair appointment . Will never go back there again. read more

Dr. Zucker doesn't care for his patients. If he did he wouldn't suggest that his patient of many years see a colo-rectal surgeon without first examining him for hemorrhoids. We have over 10 family members and relatives that go to Brookhaven Gastro. I will make sure they go elsewhere. read more

I would hesitate to ever recommend anyone to this practice. I was "diagnosed" with IBS within the first 3 minutes of a 15 minute appointment. I was given a medication and told to take it as needed up to 4 times per day. I confirmed with the practitioner TWICE that I was breastfeeding my 3 month old infant, who also happened to be sitting in my lap. Upon arriving at the pharmacy to pick up the prescription I was told this is a class C drug and could cause apnea in my infant. They wouldn't recommend taking it at all. A quick search online showed me that the drug manufacturer states, "DO NOT TAKE WHILE NURSING AND/OR PREGNANT". Not because of a minor interaction, because it could cause my infant to STOP BREATHING. Totally irresponsible of the practitioner. I called the practice and was told they are too busy to take my call and I was transferred to the medication refill line. Reprehensible. If you value your heath, and the health of those impacted by your well being, I would stay away. read more

I had a recent procedure done at Brookhaven Gastroenterology and I must say that it was the best medical experience I've had. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff, all of the nurses in the back, the anesthesiologist, the doctor, the team in the treatment room, everyone treated me so well. I have never been more impressed by a staff who cared for my comfort and well being. All had great personalities, caring demeanor, good sense of humor, my experience could almost be classified as delightful. This is the team I am going to use for anything I need in the future. I am a patient at Brookhaven gastroenterology associates while I am happy with my Doctor, Dr. Singh, their billing practices are not in compliance. Prior to my procedure I was contacted by their billing office and advised my Insurance would not cover the Abesthesia which would be $250.00 and I have an outpatient copay if $100.00, which totals $350.00. I Paid the $350.00 the day of the procedure, . The next month I received a bill for an additional $100.00 for that same procedure and this month the bill has increased to $140.00 for the same procedure. I have left several messages for the billing office , sent them a copy of my payment receipt , they have never called or written a response to any of my questions. I have worked in healthcare revenue cycle for over 30 years , their billing practice s are not in compliance, I have a right as a patient to question my bill and receive a satisfactory explanation of any and all charges. I wonder how many patients they are over billing.???? Overall I would not recommend this medical group because of this issue. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Pastrich for many years. The office is neat and the staff has always been very helpful to me. I have had procedures in the hospital and the office clinic and I have always preferred the office clinic for my procedures. Instead of waking up in a ward I wake up in a private room and when awake the Dr spends time with me to discuss the results. Because of my experience with Dr Pastrich and his staff I recommended him to my wife and daughter.
