The service for astound is already really awful. Do not go with them. They have terrible service and their employees are not well trained & will not assist you.

2013: I switched from TWC to WOW due to price increases…read more Since then my bill for classic cable (no movie or add-ons) and their slowest internet nearly doubled from $85 to $155. I am resigned to switching every 2 years now to get an introductory deal as all cable services here are simply shysters. Switched to DirecTV and now get unlimited streaming on my mobile devices through AT&T. I'm sure these companies realize their time is limited as streaming and al-a-carte options become available. For me, all I need is Fox News, fox business news, discovery and a couple others...look forward to the day where I can order exactly what I want and not the garbage (CNN, oxygen, bet, music) channels I don't even consider watching. Now I am getting internet alone through WOW for $47 (including modem rental) and 2 years of DIRECTV (with more functionality than with WOW) for $57/month...so $104 is certainly less than $155 with WOW Update 3-2018: charged $63/month for WOW internet. Called to downgrade to 10 mbps but was told the price was for new customers only. Sad. Terrible Update 6-2018: no reply from customer service. I had slow download speeds. Speedtests (with all WiFi connections disabled) was about 15 mbps. I called customer service. They said I am paying for 30 mbps but the modem (that they provided years ago and I lease monthly from them) only supports 15 mbps! Will trade in to WOW this week and expect prorated charges since the hardware does not support what I've been paying. Terrible. Update 7-2018: I replied to customer service with my account information after the last review at their request. This was weeks ago. No reply. ABSOLUTELY NO customer service.

    Metronet

Although they…read morehave several locations, I am reviewing this based on my total experience, which includes both HQ and the local Lafayette, IN office. I first contacted MetroNet in June for commercial TV service, after dropping Comcast for terrible customer service. I asked for a proposal for a 30 room business. The sales rep, Natalie, was very friendly and prompt to get me some numbers, and even came to the place of business in person on a Saturday. MetroNet was one of three companies from which I requested a proposal. After some in depth analysis of all three options, my Board of Directors voted to go with MetroNet. They seemed perfect. Good price, no external equipment to mount, fiber optic, good channel lineup, and (apparently) good customer service. I stayed in touch with Natalie over the next couple of months. When we decided to sign the contract in August, Natalie said they should have final installation by the end of August, as it would take about 2 weeks (sounds like the movie, "The Money Pit"). She then informed me that although she thought the service was already in our immediate area, it appeared they were not. She said it should be by early September, though. We agreed to sign the contract based on that. As the September deadline approached, nothing. I called to find out what was going on, and now they say October 17th. I cringe, but say ok. October 17th comes and goes, and nothing. Now they say early December. Now I am getting pissed off. I ask when it will be installed. They say January. I decide it's time to escalate the matter to a senior person. The person who heads commercial sales is Steve Jones. You can not call him directly, but must be forwarded to his cell phone via dispatch. I have done that 4 times over the past month or so. Not once has he returned my calls. Here is a quote from the Career page of their website: "Metronet is made up of a team of professionals who are proud to show they care about our customers and each other." Here is one from their About page: "Metronet is a customer-focused company..." The responses/excuses I have gotten from various personnel along the way are, "They are having trouble getting permits from the university.", "They are having trouble getting approval from the utility companies.", "They are backed up.", "I personally spoke with the head of the engineering team, and he assured me they have started working in your area", twice I've been told by HQ, "I don't even see any installation work or deadlines in the system.", and my personal favorite, "I really just don't think that the engineering wants to do the work." I have been in sales most of my working career, and am flabbergasted at this. They are worse than Comcast - the company that was voted "Worst Customer Service in America". I even had to get the BBB involved just to fire them. Looks like I will be doing the same here. I have been talking with MetroNet since June, been contracted since August, been given 5 different dates of installation, had the head of commercial sales blow me off 4 times, been given no less than 6 responses when asked about installation of my service. Not ONCE in 6 months has anyone on the sales team proactively called me to give me an update, or check in with me. I have had to initiate ALL of the correspondence. They are in sales??? They are "customer-focused"? If they don't want my business, or can't do it, just say so. Don't waste my time.

I cancelled service on 06/24/2019 due to a move. I was told my refund would come in 2 to 4 weeks…read more As of September 7, 2019 I still have not received it. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I keep getting the run around on when I will get my refund. Horrible business practice.
