2013: I switched from TWC to WOW due to price increases. Since then my bill for classic cable (no movie or add-ons) and their slowest internet nearly doubled from $85 to $155. I am resigned to switching every 2 years now to get an introductory deal as all cable services here are simply shysters. Switched to DirecTV and now get unlimited streaming on my mobile devices through AT&T. I'm sure these companies realize their time is limited as streaming and al-a-carte options become available. For me, all I need is Fox News, fox business news, discovery and a couple others...look forward to the day where I can order exactly what I want and not the garbage (CNN, oxygen, bet, music) channels I don't even consider watching. Now I am getting internet alone through WOW for $47 (including modem rental) and 2 years of DIRECTV (with more functionality than with WOW) for $57/month...so $104 is certainly less than $155 with WOW Update 3-2018: charged $63/month for WOW internet. Called to downgrade to 10 mbps but was told the price was for new customers only. Sad. Terrible Update 6-2018: no reply from customer service. I had slow download speeds. Speedtests (with all WiFi connections disabled) was about 15 mbps. I called customer service. They said I am paying for 30 mbps but the modem (that they provided years ago and I lease monthly from them) only supports 15 mbps! Will trade in to WOW this week and expect prorated charges since the hardware does not support what I've been paying. Terrible. I tried multiple times to call your numbers. All that are listed on the bill. Phone system doesn't work. "Press 4 for..." I tried multiple times and couldn't get to a person. Then I sent a contact request, and all I got was a reply for a survey. The first question was "you talked to a person recently?" I answered No. (This is my complaint.) the survey then answered "we are only interested in your input if you recently talked to someone" and closed the survey off. Totally agree with new reviews. My media box keeps loosing its brain and have to keep resting it (unplug & plug) . Called WOW was told i can take it to the office to get new one. I drove there only to find out no "pubic allowed" spoke with a guy that was outside, said only thing they do there is take your equipment , they don't issue replacement! back on the phone again, after being sent to 3ed person, was told they can send technician to bring me the media box, they wont charge for it (better not since I pay every month for those media boxes), BUT I have to pay for technician to bring it!! tried to argue to no avail, i said you are willing to lose a long time customer over this? i guess they thought i was joking...wanted me to talk to loyalty dept, I said why, you cant resolve it, I'll call Spectrum. Great at first now we've been having constant problems from being blamed for a bad coax cable buried in the yard not in our crawl space through now when the service is very hit and miss. 200Mbps should never be as bad as what we deal with now. Constant dropped signal, video clips won't play, Netflix exits on its own or freezes and on top of all of that the bill increased four times in six months. They lowered the bill when I complained and threatened to switch but the service itself is still poor. Far worse than it was originally with the exact same router modem and wireless adapters, phones, computers, etc. I've worked in IT for 30 years. Terrible internet, even worse customer service/company (in general)!!!! Internet was not working at all so I called to have a tech come out. After waiting 4 hrs, they didn't show and said I wasn't home. My security cameras say otherwise and prove the tech NEVER stepped foot on my property. Set up a second appointment, and they didnt show, again. Set up a THIRD appointment and of course, they didn't show. This time, they said I called to cancel my appointment which is total bs! I called to complain and gladly offered to email them all the proof I have of them never showing and they changed the subject. I also told them I know they track their techs whereabouts and asked them to look at their locations to prove they never came. Person on the phone changed the subject again, shocker. Their techs are lazy as hell and their "customer servuce" ppl are even worse. They offered to send a tech out for the 4th time. I laughed and said "why, so I can take off work for a grand total of 15 hours in 1 week for them to NOT show again?!?!". Awkward silence on their end. I finally told them to fuck off, cancel my service, and I'm going to Spectrum. Liter worthless company who only care about money. I hope they go out of business soon. read more

This company is making me pay 151 dollars to cancel service cause I am being force to move cause my house (that I rented) was sold. I was planning on living in that house but was sold. I'm moving 30 miles outside of Evansville where there is no service from them. The customer service guy I talked to was rude and felt no sympathy for my position. This company was not good the year I was with them and had lost of problems with them. None of those problems were reported in their files. The service from Wow is really spotty. I work in the tech industry so I know what I'm talking about here. These folks don't. They want to charge me money to come find out what The problem with THEIR service is. That's now how this works Wow! I described my problem to them several times and they claimed it was my wireless router. So I used the other wireless router. It didn't work. Then they told me it was the websites I was trying to access. So I logged into my neighbors wireless (legally lol) and amazingly all websites worked. The neighbor uses Time Warner and so will I soon. The tech guy did not even know what a DNS server was. That is a pretty basic Internet service term. read more

I'm Extremely UNHAPPY with WOW. We have business phone, fax to email, and internet service with WOW. Our fax to email service has been down for days and they are totally unresponsive to my requests to get it fixed. I've called, opened a trouble ticket and .... nothing. I've emailed and get 1 response that they'll look into it and then nothing. It's not like I can't play candy crush or something, this is a business and the customers we've worked our asses off to bring in are getting very mad and frustrated. Service is overpriced, and okay at best. If you're not happy too bad because you are locked in by a contract. They broke a 40 inch flat screen during installation, and said they'd turn it in but never did anything about it. Then jacked our pricing around till we were paying just as much as we were with Spectrum with 1 less tv(the one they broke). Then I recently paid our bill online and they took 3 payments instead of 1. Their resolution was to send a refund in 6 weeks. Bank could do nothing to help either. Absolutely HORRIBLE service. We payed $120 dollars just for wifi and it was still so slow we couldn't even watch videos on Facebook! When I called the man said that it was because I lived in an apartment? We now have direct tv and at&t with the highest cable package and pay less for cable and wifi then we did with just wifi and I can now watch videos on my phone! Went to the WOW office with a on going problem we just could not get resolved...went to the office on Hank Ave and the lady sitting at the front desk ( sorry I don't know her name) went above and beyond to make us happy and to get the problem resolved. That night a repair man repaired the problem in just minutes! He was argumentative and rude, and quite frankly if I hadn't ended the conversation when I did I probably would have cancelled my service due to his rudeness. REVISION: I spoke with Leslie today and she was very helpful. I understood everything and she was patient enough to walk me through all of my options. I have upgraded to a midrange speed for a reasonable price and will continue my subscription for the year. I wish I could choose negative stars :/ Customer service is AWFUL! My screen doesn't show the terms right under the offer I don't qualify for :/ Internet shows $39.99 for 100 Mpbs but because I have been a LOYAL customer for 4 years, I can only upgrade for $51.00. For anyone who is considering WOW service, DON'T DO IT!!!! I am ABSOLUTELY disgusted with their customer service. Not only can you NOT speak with a local person (our sales rep won't respond to our communications - Steven Tessendorf), you can't get the name and number of any local or foreign management representative to speak to regarding ANY issues that you have. They COMPLETELY botched up our phone port, we had to reactivate our Spectrum service because the first Technician didn't know how to confirm that the phone number was correctly ported. We incurred an entire monthly charge from Spectrum because of WOW's inability to correctly port a phone number as well as their ineptitude of proper porting protocol. On top of that, we are being charged long distance rates for local calls. WOW is NOT customer oriented and they are absolutely pathetic! If they were an automobile company, their reliability would rank worse than Yugo. read more

TERRIBLE. I only had their service for 1 week but it was awful. Was supposed to have 100Mbyte internet speed but day 1 & 2 never exceeded 10 Mbytes. Also, WiFi service was limited to about 20 ft from device. Day 3 Tech comes 1 hour late & tells me their modem with phone service was lousy & I need to add my own router to the system. This increased range & speeds reached 65Mbytes. Day 4-5 little to no issues but speeds still slow. Day 6 awake to find I had 0 service (cable or internet). Did the "IT reboots" & finally got service restored. Day 7 Started with no cable service. Nothing I did could get started by mid-afternoon I was fed up with WoW so I called and cancelled all services. I don't know if any other provider will be any better but WoW has set the ol' Service bar pretty low for others to beat read more

We have had this service a little over a month and we rarely have internet and they constantly refuse to help us. We have been without internet since Friday and they refuse to send somebody out today. When we very first got wow we didn't have internet for almost the whole month. They say it's not their problem but it is their problem when I'm paying out of my pocket. Tony at wow is the worst he definitely is not trying to help you out at all nor does he care. I had moved into my apartment on August 10th. I called around on able service and internet. AT&T did not service my area. A lady calls back and says she represents Spectrum. I told her I wanted TV and internet plus the NF L channel and the Fox sport channels. She said I can give you that service for 110.00 a month and I would receive a $100.00 Visa gift card. I said fine hook me up. Come to find out she was a third party contractor I assume for Spectrum. She did'nt have a clue what she was offering or pricing.It was completely misrepresented. I have been arguing with this company for 4 months now. You get different people everytime you call.I don't think there is one employee that works there that knows there ass from the hole in the ground. They have disconnected me 3 times in 4 months. When they realize what total screwups they are they turn it back on. I've finally had enough of these idiots and stopped payment on my last check. If you value your time and want to watch TV don't waste your time with these people. They are both crooks and complete morons they have no idea how yo treat their customers. Good riddance. read more
