I've been in search of a church that I felt at home met and that I like the priest during his homily. I'm still on the search. The interior of the church has a lot of beautiful Stainglass, but it still doesn't feel like I belong here. I've only been inside the church a few times, since I don't feel like it's my church. What a bummer, since it's so close to my house.

I have spent a year reaching out to them concerning the lack of lighting that leads to conjuring. I even offer to pay for the light to be replaced. I am constantly ignored or lied to when they say it will be taken care of. It has got to a point where I have had to get the police involved. What happened to loving your neighbors?

They donated uniforms to Fitzgerald Elementary for the basketball team. The men's ministry is at Fitzgerald (now called Fitzerald/Bethune) to provide a male presence for the children in this area on Puritan. Although Hartford is not the place that I chose for a church home, they provide a spiritual avenue for many people not just Detroiters. They provide a great deal of community outreach and I find that to be a positive attribute. If you are searching for a Baptist church home it would not hurt to stop in to hear the Word here one Sunday morning. Plan to get there early because it is usually jam pack (even early morning service) and parking is not that great. I gave 4 stars because of the phenomenal job Hartford does with community outreach in the city of Detroit.

This church is awesome for the community and has a huge following. If you drove by 7mile and the Lodge you will see the hundreds of cars parked up and down the street (the parking lot is wayy to small). Dr. Charles Adams is the reverend and has been for a VERY long time. His style of preaching is different from my church home and his congregation is affluent and influential (so you definitely can't walk in there with gym shoes). If you like Baptist churches, check it out for sure. Services are at 7:30 and 11am.

Last Sunday I came with my boyfriend and actually had the opportunity to hear a sermon. This church is definitely different from my home church, in that it is small and very close knit. I feel as if this is one of those churches were everyone knows who you are. So of course everyone kept looking my way to see who I was. Overall, I had a good time and walked away feeling like I learned something. I would definitely recommend if you are into a close-knit church, although the facility itself is actually very large.

The worship is singing In hymms and worshiping christ together with the lyrics on the Order of Service/Bulletin they give you When you enter. After Service the people were very warm and kind. Helpful and giving guidance esspecially to a new vistor to the church. The REV. Tommy Myrick was great and preached from the word well. overall the time I was there was awesome and would highly recommend going if you are seeking for fellowship and being rooted in the word.
