Besides the fact that ABR was completely behind the times (I had to fax everything to them - no one there uses email!), their customer service on the phone left much to be desired. We worked with a rep who told us that we got the unit we wanted and then had to call back and say that it was no longer available.... we were really disappointed about that. The rep's general demeanor over the phone was also bad... she sounded like she couldn't care less about her customers or the services she was providing for us. The unit we rented was actually fine for the price. The unit was relatively clean when we moved in, just a little shabby and worn down with use... but totally fine for the short week we were there. Our main issue was that we did not get our entire security deposit back. NO WHERE in the contract did ABR say that we had to clean (or hire professional cleaners) the unit before we left. So, of course we got slapped with a $100 cleaning fee (taken out of our security deposit)... but we also realized that no one from ABR checks the unit between renters because we also got accused of (and consequently charged with) other random things that were "broken" (i.e. coffee carafe and phone jack) even though they were in that condition when we moved in. Long story short... if you are going to rent on the Jersey Shore, you should think twice about using this company. Their customer service and technological skills are below average... and their business, in my opinion is just shady.
