Big problem is they place so called quility sifted topsoil (according to owner) along both sides of walk which resulted in poor soil with smal stones/rock throughout. I will now have to hire a contractor to rake out the poor soil and replace it with quality soil to grow back grass along with grass seed and fertilizer. Which will take time and expense. Not happy about that. I already discussed this with owner.

Written BY: CR LP Township:…read more I contacted this company to come out and give me a quote to fix existing stone walls in and around flower beds, trim shrubs, remove rhododendron bush, remove shrubs around the driveway, prune Japanese maple and remove bonsai grass and replant the backyard, repoint and install gator sand to lock pavers. The above work was done just okay. But, the problem with the mulch was that I was planting flowers in the mulch flower bed and found less than an inch of mulch in that area. I have weeds growing in the mulch just after the mulching was done. As requested, the beds were not edged to help keep the mulch in place. The mulch depth ranged from less than one inch up to just less than two inches. I called and spoke to Anthony and asked if he would come out and look at what I was telling him and he said, "I am not coming out there." You could have moved that mulch around." His attitude was not what I expected, and his demeanor changed, and hung up on me. Needless to say, the problem is not fixed. I would not recommend dealing with this company.

I have purchased many shrubs and trees from them. Not once did anyone say they do not guarantee the shrub or tree. Every tree I've purchased from them has been fine until now. I purchased 2 very large Laurels. I planted both the same day. When we put the one Laurel into the ground the ball of dirt fell apart and we saw there was practically no root. The other Laurel was fine. I sent pictures to Blacks to show them the problem but they replied no guarantee. So the one that the roots is doing fine. The one with poor roots has died. See photos I feel the shrub was not going to make it even if Blacks had installed it.

I called last week to get them to replace a tree and sod my front lawn in Lewisberry, after a car accident. I heard back from Greg today, and he told me that he would only do an estimate if I paid him $75. I don't think he understands what an "estimate" means. He said that people take their estimates and don't use them. I guess that's because they're overpriced. I advised Greg that I'm in Florida and I need him to not only do the work, but also to water the tree and sod afterwards (extra work and money for him!) He still said he wanted to charge me $75 because he didn't believe me. Why would you want to give Black Landscape Contracting your business when they don't trust their customers? I'm won't allow anyone providing shrubs to my properties to buy them from Black Landscaping going forward after this experience. I'll support another business.
