When my niece was born this summer, the owner, Terrie Thomas, helped me put together a gift basket for my SIL & baby, providing a basket (which was not part of her inventory, she just had some around)-new mom book, baby sign language book, big wood letters of the baby's initials, that kind of stuff. She'll direct you to things you might not have thought of in a nonpressuring way. I appreciate the comfy couch & the basket of toys for my 4 year old to play with while I browse-that definitely extends my visits to the store. And yes, as Mark B. noted, there are tasty ginger cookies & peppermint tea proffered when you come in. Last, but not least, there is a bowl of fresh water outside the store all summer for thirsty dogs-much appreciated by mine.
