The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, but there were a couple of comfort issues. It tended to run a bit warm, and the thermostat didn't seem to cool down to the temperature we set. The air also felt pretty dry overnight. We had an accessible (handicap) shower, and while it was easy to use, it left about half of the bathroom floor soaked after each shower. That made the floor very slick, which was a bit of a safety concern. We also liked that the hotel had a pool, which is always a nice perk, but it was pretty small. Overall, a nice stay with great amenities and breakfast, but a few room comfort and bathroom design issues that could be improved.

The first two weddings were small before my son was deployed with the Army. At first my husband and I didn't really think Indiana was going to be a good destination wedding, but we were wrong. The happy couple met while renting homes a mile away while they were both students at the university. The grounds and home are beautiful. I think the bride and her friends stayed in the Penthouse. The wedding guests saw deer before the ceremony. I didn't see the deer because my son was escorting my husband and I to our seats before the ceremony. They set up all the tables outside and there's a nice patio for the dance floor and DJ, a little patio next to the ballroom for a bartender and an indoor ballroom if the weather doesn't permit dining outdoors.

Try out a sweet treat at the chocolate shop next door or a classic Chocolate Moose Ice Cream cone. Just strolling the charming downtown after an event is very date worthy. It was so unbearable that my husband had to stuff a towel into the vent just to block the airflow. When we called the front desk for help, we were told there was nothing they could do because the engineer wasn't available. That was the end of the conversation -- no solution, no effort, no concern for the fact that guests were left freezing in their rooms. This level of service is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one tied to the reputation of Indiana University. Future guests should be aware: if something goes wrong, don't expect help. this hotel is poorly managed and poorly maintained.

I can envision this property with a little more private investment or even from the county becoming like the Pearl district in San Antonio Texas. I realize this is a large ask because the billionaire that owned pace salsa is from San Antonio, and spent much of his own money regentrifying the pearl. However, with a local culinary school it's definitely possible. I can imagine adding bars, restaurants and shops to the outside space, and including the creek that runs by in the plans.
