I have gone to George in New York for at least 3 years. I have not gone anywhere else or even considered another accountant since my first visit because George Dimov is aso absolutely professional and personable. I have sat down to explain all of the complications with my career and he has helped me to understand the process of taxes and to understand all the ins and outs to ensure maximum returns! Not only has he managed my taxes for years, he actually helped me to amend previous ones to get more money, and while this is normally something a person would ask for, he went above and beyond to follow up with me, to assist me with submitting the taxes for me, with getting me information on previous taxes when I had no clue how to get those files. In short, George and his growing team goes above and beyond. Some other things that really won me over, not once have I been in his office over 20 minutes, never waited as he schedules times to make sure he or his team can see me when convenient to me, and I mean, late or early hours. Come tax season, I received responses to emails even at 11pm.... the team works hard to answer back asap! Honestly, this year was possibly my most complicated due to multiple jobs and being unemployed plus a 401k withdrawal... I mean... the works, and as soon As I walked in, George made sure to capture all the details, quickly assigned me an accountant and my taxes were completed in about a week. I go very early in the year as I prefer to file early, and get my returns early! Additionally, I find that the price is very affordable and was much cheaper than the year I went to HR Block. Once you become a client, George will send reminders through the year and newsletters with new information that may impact tax season the next year. Again, above and beyond! I've only come for tax purposes, but I know he provides additional accountant services. At the end of the day, the team is absolutely professional, the service is quick and above and beyond, it's a small business and quickly becomes very personable! In the spirit of my normal food reviews, while this is not a first, second or third date spot, it absolutely should be your FIRST choice for tax returns!!! read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this tax service and would not recommend them. From start to finish, there was a serious lack of communication and professionalism. I had to follow up repeatedly--through multiple emails and phone calls--just to get partial responses. At no point did I feel like my case was being actively managed. Instead, I felt like I had to hold their hands through the entire process and double-check everything myself. They required full payment upfront, and after that, it felt like we were forgotten. We were left in a situation where we had already paid a significant amount but received little to no proactive service in return. There was no clear guidance, no timely updates, and no sense of ownership on their side. What is most concerning is the number of errors and oversights. The Massachusetts tax liability they calculated was off by approximately $16,000--an enormous discrepancy that we had to catch ourselves by recalculating everything using TurboTax. We also discovered on our own that certain overtime income was not taxable in our situation--something a tax advisor should absolutely know. This mistake alone cost us over $2,000. On top of that, the Massachusetts payment was never processed, and we were not informed. The only reason this was addressed is because I followed up. Had I not done so, it likely would have been missed entirely. Being told afterward to go online and handle the payment ourselves defeats the purpose of hiring a professional in the first place. Overall, this experience created unnecessary stress, risk, and financial impact. When you hire a tax professional, you expect accuracy, accountability, and proactive communication. His firm, on short notice, was able to reorganize books, and turn my QuickBooks into something that made sense. He showed me all of the deductions I was missing out on from last year's business Partnership LLC return (as well as personal tax return), and he even filed an amended return for me which saved me THOUSANDS. The extra savings he was able to find for me this year more than made up for his very reasonable fee. I also feel confident that by having a meticulous CPA prepare my taxes, that my audit risk is probably lower. And even if it comes to be, I feel confident that he would strongly represent me in the case of an audit. George is the tax hero that we need, but didn't deserve. After getting a letter from the IRS *and* MA state I was clearly at a loss as to what to do. First off, I only lived here part of the year, so I couldn't imagine what their issue could be! They were trying to tax me on income that I earned (and paid taxes on) from a completely different state. Clearly I was quite worried. This team is excellent! They have completed my taxes for four years in a row, several moves, several small businesses, and some contract work. Response time is very fast and the service is friendly. They always answer all of my questions where other accountants get impatient. The common complications on my return have to do with deductions from 1099 income, which is how I found George in the first place (referral from a friend that was also on 1099).
