Upon entering it doesn't really look like much but when you step in you first see a shop filled with authentic traditional philippine decor. From dining plates to beautiful handcrafted vases and local artwork I was amazed. Service- We were seated promptly and all the staff were so friendly and courteous. They went through the menu and answered all questions and even gave us a tour of the balcony sitting area. Food- Delicious.. We had multiple dishes since we were a big group. We had the Seafood platter. Grilled black calamari sounds and looks weird but it was one of the best tasting dishes I ever had! Okoy seafood fried cakes fried garlic rice and grilled oysters. It was definitely a treat. The portion sizes were big and everything cooked to perfection. The view was amazing from the balcony where you could also be seated. the lush hills of greenery is a great backdrop for photos or just to admire the view. Everything was perfect. Definitely a place to see!

Service- pretty slow considering there were tons of servers. Food-- this is a family style restaurant- hence every order is for 2-4 people. Appetizer- we had boneless crispy pata-- crispy, fatty and definitely a must have here. Main meal- we ordered Bulalo(Beef and tendons kn broth), something Binakol, and the grilled native fish. The flavor profile for Bulalo and Binakol was really subtle- and not at all impressive. The grilled fish was actually pretty good. Garlic or plain white rice is ordered separately, and I recommend garlic if you are eating dry food. We didn't stick around for desert.. but they do offer a pretty good selection.

I don't remember everything we ordered, but I do remember the ones that stood out. The cucumber cooler drink is very refreshing - a must get. Fresh lumpia was good, but the best thing was the bulalo. It is a beef bone marrow soup and is absolutely delicious. The broth is addicting, and the beef chunks are very tender. This is a popular, lively, open spaced restaurant that has very nice views of the Taal lake. A great place to grab a bite and relax and enjoy the views, or to celebrate or for group gatherings.

Wow! Just WOW! And I'm going to just stop at that but as an elite reviewer, I gotta say more!…read more My sweet friend took us here for a dinner treat. We stayed at Taal Vista and this place is pretty much a stone's throw away. We could've just walked all the way here but the rain and grumpy kiddos is suggestion enough that we should just hop on the car. The whole restaurant is huge to begin with! And we were seated by the glass window overlooking the city lights below. Ambience alone was a solid 5 ! Food-wise, it's superb! My friend spoke so highly about their bulalo and she promised to take me to this place a year ago. In her own words "Josephine's has the finest bulalo in the country!". Those words aren't to be taken lightly especially coming from an exceptional physician! yeah, she's a doctor and she's about to to put me on a food coma. Lol! We ordered a good variety of dishes from the crispy kangkong appetizer to the mango shakes, then to the seafood platter, pinakbet and crispy pata, and then of course, the crowning glory of our meal - the renowned bulalo! I can say I can dance at each bite. Yeah, it was that good! Lol! And I had the "honor" of taking the precious bone marrow to kingdom come. Ha! Well, that one sure did push to my food coma! Lol! I pushed aside any health concerns and shoved that thing in my mouth with so much gusto! Haha! I promise I could've died happy that night. But I lived to tell you that story. So, go ahead and see and taste the wonders of Josephine's culinary marvel!
