So we ended up at DINO'S Diner. Open 24/7 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner any time. There was a very extensive menu for everyone. Its was hard for me to pick! I ended up on Dino's skillet. It was just so delicious in my opinion. And plenty big of a serving. Currently $10.99. Picture below. My husband had the Ruben sandwich and fries. He liked it, But he gave me no details. . I tasted a fry and it was hot and crispy. Just the way I like them. The bread was pretty. Lol. I tasted it and it was just bread. I did taste the rest of the sandwich tho. Our server was excellent too. It was not crowded when we were there but steady customers coming in. We were served quickly too. I would have liked to try the pie or cakes available, but I was way too full. From Cameron we drove to St Joseph for chocolate. Rocky mountain chocolate factory. Consistently satisfying quality and service, though there does seem to be a high turn over of service members. Industry? Maybe. Desire to work? Maybe. There are a few familiar faces we do love seeing. Floor management/owners always recognize us and make us feel appreciated most especially by the kindness and attention to our needs for grandkids and aging/ disabled parents. Kind hearts for sure. Dad is so happy when he can get liver & onions which is so hard to get at any place anymore. Food was great service great but when I checked out I was screwed out of 20.00. I literally gave a 25.00 tip. I know for a fact I gave the cashier 20.00 and then fumbled for change. Stopped in on Thursday for lunch and this place was hopping. Filled with an older crowd, tells me good food and affordable prices. Huge variety of items on menu and breakfast all day. I would have given them 5 stars but I was not comfortable with the social distancing. Not a mask in sight, including the staff and I was back-to-back with someone in an adjacent booth. Great menu for a diner with something for everyone. Lots of families and kids running around, and I can see why. My catfish dinner was under $10 and with a beverage and pie my tab was $16 which was very reasonable. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried, and the sides were excellent. The lemon meringue pie was very lemony and the meringue light and fluffy. The crust was crumbly, not flaky, but very good. Had a great meal with great service. The fried chicken does take a little extra time to cook but it was worth the wait. It had great seasoning and crisp. The portion sizes were very large. My daughter had the Alfredo and my wife the chicken parmigiana The chicken was good. Ask for Ranch to dip the fried chicken and it will take you to a whole new level. Last Saturday I stopped after 13 hours of driving decided to have the special Ribeye with 2 sides I ordered it rare it was not chewable told the waitress and she said let's cook it a little more brought back a hockey puck had to cut it into 3/8 bites just to chew enough to swallow. Great experience! We came with our family of 6 and were able to be seated right away for lunch. They were so busy and looked understaffed but the waitresses were running around definitely doing their best. Even still we didn't have a long wait time for drinks or our food. This was our second time eating breakfast at this place. Good food and nice and friendly waitress!!

First of all, not a mask in sight. No servers, no owners, no guests. We wore ours whenever we left the table. Cameron was our stopping night between Colorado and Illinois but we'll Probably rethink this on the next trip. Hotels are run down, restaurants looked mediocre, gas stations are filthy. As for the diner, Took nearly ten minutes before we were even greeted and asked for drinks. Another 10 before our server came back to get our order. Food took over 40 minutes to arrive. Our original server was seen counting tips as we waited for food. She never came back the rest of the time we were there. Another sever came back and got refills ten minutes after we had ran out of drinks. The second sever brought us our food. Food was mediocre; fried chicken, that we knew would take 20 minutes, was dry and tough. Floor was filthy, chairs were ripped. A third server finally brought our check after we sat another ten minutes with stacked plates and empty cups. Two hours of our life and $65 we'll never get back. Do yourselves a favor and stop to eat in Kansas City. read more
