Stopped in today Nov 26th at 10:30 am. The guest in front of me was wanting gas but didn't know the pump number. when he got the front the little Spanish guy at the counter, let's call him "napoleon", told the customer "next time be more prepared, figure it out and come back when you're ready" the patron then said no need to be rude then napoleon proceed to berate him and made no attempt to help the guy locate the pump numbers that i agreed were hard to see. I stepped in to say, yeah man, you're being a bit of a jerk, just be nice!. He then told me, since I chimed in I should mind my own business and that he wasn't rude. I tried to reason with Little Napoleon even asking how he would feel if the roles were reversed and it's not that hard to just be nice to people. But Mr Bonapartes ego prevents him from such thoughts. I think our tiny friend needs a little slice of humble pie, and a new job not working with the public. I will note that the guy running the chicken counter was obviously bothered by the cashiers behavior and tried to step in and help the guy. read more

Is the next question as a brief discussion and straws are drawn. WHO WANTS WHAT? Is the final question bellowed by the able bodied volunteer willing to make the chicken run. It's not the actual food that makes the place as much as how it brings people together for a late night nosh fest, laughter and fun. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU GO - - Not the best fried chicken, but a known late night tradition amongst locals - Best for boat trip or after hours food cravings - Hit or miss on fresh hot chicken depending on when you go - 12pm - 3am - Best time to buy during post bar crawl rush - chicken is turned quick and is freshest. There is sometimes a long waiting line of all ages and stages of sobriety or lack thereof - 4:30am - 5:00am - Worst time to buy chicken. It's been sitting out. - Potato wedges are thrown in the bottom of a sack with the chicken tossed on top of it - Aside from fried chicken, Dion's also has a variety of side items such as stuffed potato balls (we call these potato bombs, lol), mashed potatoes & gravy, Mac & cheese, jalapeño poppers, Jamaican meat pies etc. - Many people visit Dion's during the day, but for me it's purely a late night treat. I've tried it during the day but that's a whole other story. If you are in town for an extended stay planning a pub crawl, adding Dion's to the end of your night is a must at least once. I love Dions chicken, my wife and I come to the Key's 3-5 times a year. It has always been a little pricey, but today got a major sticker shock. A 9 piece bag of chicken was $24.99 plus tax. Thats my last time buying it unfortunately. I guess corporate greed has taken over. Sorry Dions, you have a great product but I refuse to pay over $25 for a chicken in a gas station, or anywhere else for that matter. Good luck with your new pricing. read more

Wow this gas station has the best fried chicken in Key West! Came here to try Dions fried chicken and I'm glad I did. This fried chicken is seasoned perfectly and then its fried til golden brown. Once you bite into the chicken you get a explosion of spices and then the juicy and tenderness of the chicken is so Good! The Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and corn bread are good. You can not beat the prices and quality of fried chicken you get here. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves fried chicken as much as I do. read more

Was surprised by the massive price increase of 35 % in their 3 piece dinner. Definitely not worth $11.49 plus tax. I won't be back.

Don't go there. The staff is rude and nasty, especially Gerald, the guy that serves chicken in the morning. Their snacks also don't have fresh dates. Gerald left the door open at 5am on Tues 7/7/20 without a visible sign that the store was still closed, except for the delivery truck driver. Gerald was in the back of the store, and not at his post. Since they're usually open 24/7, I strolled in. Gerald rudely told me to "Get out" despite the fact that I am a customer who has spent money there before, and that there was no visible sign out front that the store was closed. I recommend that you go to the Chevron across the street. They're courteous and have fresh snacks as well. read more

I get gas there and it's pretty non descriptive looks like a regular convenience store but the chicken to go is incredible. It's probably the best on the island no seating and there's normally a little line but it's worth the wait. Chickens Great read more

Ok, brace yourself because what I am about to do is ask you to open your eyes. The next time you go into this store and stand at the chicken counter take a good look around. 1. Note the floors, filthy, cracked and missing tiles, which by the way harbor bacteria. 2. Look up at the light fixtures. Filthy, covered in grease, dust, spot and all that is over the food and food prep Ares. 3. The Formica counter on the left by the window, covered in dust and dirt. 4. Look at the top of the beverage, condiment equipment, covered in dust and dirt. 5. Look at the napkin holder on the counter by the plastic silverware, covered in dirt. All I can say is : who's paying off the HEALTH department to be ok with this?! read more

BEST FRIED CHICKEN - EVER! I've never had "homemade" fried chicken before and Dion's does it right - EXACTLY RIGHT. :) The prices are fair and the sides are delicious - the mashed potatoes were incredible; they even had the potato skins mixed into mash. The gravy? I hate gravy and this stuff was awesome. We were leaving the Keys and stopped back into Dion's for another large side of the mashed potatoes - soooo good. The staff is friendly and the place is nice - there isn't anywhere to sit, so you're taking it to-go. read more

My boyfriend and his family lived in the Keys over 15 years ago for sometime before being forced to relocate here after hurricane Wilma destroyed their home. I am not exaggerating when I say the very first stop we made in Key West was the Dion's Chicken on Flagler. Both my boyfriend and his father had continuously talked of the chicken that was "unlike any other fried chicken" they've ever had since they moved and they continued to stop at Dion's stations several more times over our week long trip! Chicken was good!! The kids loved it. Our taxi driver suggested it, said this place put KFC out of business.

Great service and they have enough here to easily satisfy quick cravings of tea drinks, chips and candies.

On 10/4 at 8:50 AM I was at the gas station on the Connor of Truman and white in key west. The cashier (50s, blonde, currly hair, heavy build) was very rude. She took a very long time on customer before me talking, counting and re counting the many single bills the guy gave her. Then for me I was paying with phone tap to pay (something I have done many many times at this gas station) and she was unwilling to try, telling the customer behind me to go to next till....ignoring me. When she finally came back to me I told her if she was unwilling to let me try phone tap to pay (again something I have done there many times) she should tell me shes going to not let me try. She argued with me not ringing my transaction and again took the one person behind me to next till. I had my card out and stuck in the machine when she did this. She just needed to hit the button. She was the worse cashier I ever had. read more
