The store is in the heart of Florence's shopping district and the amazing thing about Florence is that it's full of tourists but doesn't feel overrun by tourists like Venice. The store has multiple levels of clothing, designer goods and housewares. The top level houses a cafe with a beautiful view of Florence and the mountains that are in the distance. I believe it overlooks the hospital but I could be seriously wrong about this! The view into the courtyard of what I thought is the hospital has a lot of buskers and tourists watching buskers. The reason for the low rating is if you have gone to the Rinascente in Milan this is a smaller more run down version of that store with a lot less items.

If you want to find great brands and prices like this in NYC, you have to be prepared to sort through an unorganized store and it's like finding a needle in a haystack-- but not here. Everything is so organized, each clothing rack is in order according to sizing, even the shoes are organized, there's no clutter and the store is easy to walk through and find what you need. I could say "it's an Italian thing" for why it's so organized and neat since Italians are all about presentation and visuals, but I still have to give this store credit for keeping things organized considering the high amount of tourist traffic that comes through this area. The layout is grand and you can see how to get to each specialty department from mostly anywhere in the store without really needing to ask where departments are. The sales people are chill, they don't hassle you, but are available to help when you need them. If you're in Firenze and prefer to shop quality and designer apparel without paying full price, this is the place to come! After you finish doing your touristy things near the Duomo, come and visit just around the corner!

I actually made an appointment for 10 am, but it wasn't needed. I was the 6th person in line at 9:50. The line got longer as the day progressed. The associates said they have longer lines after 12:00 pm. 2. You aren't assigned a sales associate like they do in America. I went straight to women's shoes. I asked for shoes in my size and they pulled them out from the wall in front of you! Awesome! No waiting. The sales associates are assigned to areas, so when I asked the gentleman who pulled two pairs for shoes to help me in kids, he told me someone else would assist me there. 3. When you say you want an item, they give you a ticket. Then, they take the items and move them to the checkout out line for you. Wonderful. You don't have to carry ANYTHING. As you gain more items, they scan your ticket and keep stockpiling things for you! 4. I had little hopes of the items being better priced. Gucci Outlet in Spain was very underwhelming. However, I found some green Marmont heels that never made it to the outlets in the US. They were marked down to about $480 in the department stores, and I found them at the Gucci Outlet in Italy for under 380€. I also found another shoe that sold out in the US in my size, but it was available here for cheaper! 5. Something they had no problem doing (but the sales associates in the US hate doing) was just searching available items in a specific size. 6. They do have a kids section, but it's not very big. Overall, I had a good experience. I bought one purse and two pairs of shoes.

I randomly stumbled across Adam Leather Factory walking home, and like many foreigners seeing…read morehundreds of leather shops all looking the same in Florence, I was really hesitant to walk in as it seemed like just another one of the shops run by non-Italians who are more geared towards lower quality items and tourists who don't know better selling at higher prices. Boy, was I wrong. Very wrong. The moment I stepped in, to the left I saw gentleman who had several leather strips out on a ladle and was hand-sewing a wallet for a customer at the counter. I was immediately greeted with an extremely warm smile and voice by Mickael who was just an absolute gem to talk to and chat with, and helped me find the right item for my Dad. Mickael before stepping out then let Mozzi know about what I was looking for and how they could work with me, and I had so much fun talking with Mozzi in my broken Italian that we chatted and laughed together for over AN HOUR together in his shop! In the meantime I saw just how kind he was to all the various customers all over the world who came into his shop working with them and making them feel extremely comfortable from the second they walked in. Mozzi even customized the lettering of a wallet with a specific idea I had in mind, and I saw all the amazing beautiful custom work he's done and proudly owns as well, like a one-of-one Macbook Pro Leather Satchel Messenger Bag that was just a work of art, or leather air-pod cases he made that were just brilliant - brilliant. His work needs to be seen by more people around the world. At the end of our hour chatting together and just having a blast talking and learning from one another, Mozzi gave me an excellent price on the items I was interested in, and just made my entire week being a class-A gentleman who TRULY cares about his work and being creative and passionate and being a step above everyone else. He is an artisan, and it was really an absolute joy and perfect happen-stance to meet him. Mozzi, thank you again brother. UN GRANDE PIACERE. Can't wait to swing by again for any other items I may need on my next trip. I wish you all the best brother, you deserve it!!! Keep up the amazing honest hard-work. You are on a roll and up and coming!

My husband bought me a baby-soft lambskin black leather jacket that has a great zipper on it that allows you to UNzip it from the bottom for when you sit down and want a little more room to move. Hubby got two wallets, and I got two gorgeous bookmarks (one as a souvenir for a friend); each of which were engraved with our initials for free. You can see Ale engraving the bookmarks in my picture. One thing I really liked about the owner is that he was willing to give us a deal on the jacket alone before we added more items to our total purchase. Many times, a merchant will hold back on offering a deal UNTIL you add more items, but he offered us a great deal on just the jacket, and that made us want to add more things! Yes, it's all authentic, the smell is amazing, and his prices are very fair. We will absolutely return to Prestigio on our next visit -- probably for a cute crossbody and another jacket. He's got a great location in the old city center, too, right between the Duomo and the chapel. You can't miss it! Go visit Ale and enjoy the experience!
