My wife and I want to share what a wonderful experience my family had with "Best Choice Flooring"…read morein Delaware and its owner, Mike Reed. After decades of managing properties in multiple states, we have frequently done renovations ourselves or hired skilled specialists to handle the work. After all those years and from that long list of professionals, "Best Choice Flooring" has risen to the top for craftsmanship, skill, honesty, and diligence, and for keeping us informed of progress and offering us reasonable options when anomalies arose. When I first met with Mike to discuss flooring options for our newly purchased Greenville home, he offered a detailed list of choices tailored to our needs. On the first level of our two-story, 3,900-square-foot house, my wife and I asked him to repair and refinish the 40-year-old, almost all-oak wood floor; remove the tiling in the entryway (the only area that was not wood); refinish the wood stairs; match the wood handrails, which are not oak; and refinish the oak bookshelves in our small library. On the second floor, we asked him to remove the carpeting from its four bedrooms, remove the horizontally installed hallway oak-plank flooring, and replace it with oak planks the same size as on the first floor. We asked that he install new oak planks to match the first floor and lay them diagonally to align with the home's diagonal entryway. Lastly, Mike even re-stained the wooden tops of our stainless-steel Restoration Hardware kitchen counter stools to match the kitchen floor. Throughout the work, Mike and his assistant showed incredible dedication, working from early morning until late at night, even on weekends, to get everything done within the timeframe for our move-in date. Mike also kept my wife and me in the loop by regularly sending photos and detailed descriptions of the work's progress. He did this without me having to ask. I can honestly say that in all my years working with craftsmen, very few have been as clear and friendly in their communication--especially when dealing with problems--as Mike was and is. Once everything was finished, Mike's work truly went beyond what we had hoped for. The first-level floors looked as beautiful as those you'd find in a brand-new luxury home, and the second-level floors blended so perfectly that they seemed to have always been part of the house. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend Mike Reed and Best Choice Flooring for both renovations and the installation of a whole new floor that looks like a magazine advertisement. In a time when many home improvement professionals subcontract their work, often leading to questionable results, it is obvious that Mike and his assistant do the work themselves and do it very, very well. Mike's skill and dedication really stand out as a breath of fresh air, as he exceeded our expectations. Hire Mike, and you will not be disappointed. Sincerely, Sven Jones https://www.linkedin.com/in/svenjones/

Nepotism is rampant in this company…read more Everything is told to workers at the last minute, if you take time off they will call you in anyway. If anything happens within the company, you will not be notified of any changes, and if you ask, you will not get any answers and are told "Don't worry about it." The company has a building that is out of state (They are supposed to be within the state of Delaware, but because one of the previous workers worked at this company, they pulled strings in order to get the company to clean it.) You will be covering constantly for other people, there will be repeated call outs. If you have personal issues outside of the job, you WILL be guilt tripped into staying on weekends for just a little more money ($60 or so) You are not compensated for gas if you take your own vehicle. Friends and family will hire each other and if they are in higher positions, exceptions will be made for them. Don't expect raises, those will happen when the company is constantly losing contracts, or being beaten out for buildings by other cleaning companies, they use it as an incentive to get people to stay, recently workers have been given a raise because they were losing so many contracts. The retention rate is so low, they can't find people to work to replace the ones that leave, especially night shift.

The most disorganized company I have ever worked for. They use and treat their employees like they…read moreare beneath them. The owner has built a good company along with the lady who is head of HR over the past years but unfortunately she has handed (key word being handed) the company over to her son in law who has NO experience in the commercial cleaning industry and he believes he can run it. All he is doing is running it into the ground. I give it 1 maybe 2 years at most before they run out of money by taking out loans and are out of business . Also they cheat you out of earned time on your final check. Oh and make sure you check your paycheck every pay period as about 30% of employees checks were incorrect and short. Last but not least they make current employees use ex employee badges to gain access at most STATE facilities so obviously security for clients and state office sites isn't a concern for this corporation.
