Yes, this is controversial for some…read more I support universal health care, but don't quite understand why it should come at a universal low standard. My dentist calls me every 4 months for a cleaning or checkup. When was the last time I had a blood test.?... 10 years! I know many have adequate medical care through established family practices via standard health care, but some don't. I did not. I think I knew something was not right and when I couldn't arrange a standard medical exam through my MD (after 1 year of trying and two misconnects) then I signed up for Copeman. After the intake questions and battery of exams and tests, it was found that essentially everything was off the charts. I was actually in pretty bad shape. Fortunately things were found early enough, I received some expert advice, and was able to get some lifestyle choices turned around before it was too late. The actual facility is centrally located, has easy off-street parking with nice (modern and clean!) offices and waiting room. There are nutritionists, physiotherapists, exercise kinesiologists, nurses, lab staff and counsellors available, but most importantly, physicians who actually take their hand off of the door handle when they talk to you. For lab tests, samples are all taken on site. This is the way health care should be. It is not luxurious, unless you compare it to the standard squalid waiting rooms at physicians' offices, usually located in dilapidated medical buildings with antique furnishings and equipment from the 60s. How we have come to accept the current state as acceptable is bewildering to me. While I feel a twinge of liberal guilt about the whole thing, this is a complicated issue with no easy answers. I was not willing to die waiting for politicians and government to figure it out. At $4K/ first year and $2.5K/year following (there are also family plans), it is certainly not for everyone. I am a supporter, and while this kind of service is not the answer to our current delivery problems, it just might be part of the solution.

My symptoms range from debilitating migraines, insomnia, anxiety & depression, mood swings, weight gain, thinning hair, low libido, itchy dry skin, rashes, acne & weird bumps, failing eyesight, joint pain, brain fog, GI issues, hot & cold flushes, and the list goes on. I have been bed ridden for much of this time between the symptoms and trying different HRT combinations. What I need is a menopause specialist to help my specific situation, as I am having more complex issues than just hot flashes. Good luck finding a doctor, let alone one who is up to date on research and a long wait, usually months to get in. I have been educating myself since the medical system has not been trained to help women at this time of life and working with my amazing Family physician who looks outside the box and listens to me. I still need help to balance my hormones, as I know I am on the right track. I had suffered long enough and decided to give in and reach out to Evolve Well, even if I had to pay for the service. My husband called twice, first to see if it would be a good fit. Then he called back after I filled out their online booking form and hadn't heard anything after a week. The staff said they would contact me within the month to book an appointment for about 4 to 5 months out, which was shocking considering this is a private clinic, but sure tells you the amount of women suffering. I did fill out another form about a week later asking if I could be put on a cancellation list because I was suffering so badly. I got no response. About a month and a half goes by from the initial contact and I sent an email asking when I can make an appointment because no one had contacted me?! I got a canned response from a staff member saying someone should be calling me soon. Almost two weeks later, I had enough and posted a negative comment on their Instagram about their apathetic customer service on a post promoting how much they CARE about their current/incoming patients. I FINALLY got a response...to bugger off!? Seems like a very shady company, that do not care about helping desperate women and a money grab because to be honest, peri-menopause/menopause care and treatments should be covered in our health care system (that's a whole other topic though!). I shared my experience, like above, in response on their IG comments and they BLOCKED me and probably removed my comments! Lol! If that's not shady, what is!? That is what brings me here, in hopes that I can spread the word about this poorly run clinic and their uncaring front of staff. My hope is the government will step in the future (I know, wishful thinking!) and help women at this time of life, leaving clinics like Evolve Well out of business and obsolete. Be warned that if you can even get an appointment, this clinic does not appear to be well run. I wish all my fellow peri menopausal women best wishes...I am suffering with you.
