We own two Lakeland Terriers who, to keep their coats looking like they should, need to be hand stripped. This is a time consuming and tedious process often not carried out by dog groomers. When we moved back to Adelaide on the hunt for a dog groomer, these guys were more than open to hand stripping and the groomer even called us to find out more info before we booked them in. When we arrived, they knew exactly who we were and introduced themselves to our dogs. They required vaccination certificates and took time to learn about their habits before introducing them to other dogs. I should let you know, hand stripping is done in stages because it takes so long and the dogs becomes restless. Therefore, in between grooming sessions, our dogs used the daycare facility. When we picked Jasper and Quin up, they were happy, perky and didn't seem at all distressed. The groomer came out to let us know how they went and we discussed a long term grooming plan. We've been back a couple of times since and simply can't fault them. Anywhere our dogs pull on their lead to get into must be fun for them. I am 100% comfortable leaving our dogs in their care.

So enthusiastic and make a big fuss about your pooch when you walk in. Plenty of staff around all areas watching dogs at all times. You can even pop in during the day to check on your pup to see how he/she is going. It's a little pricey, but you are giving your dog a treat, it's great for socialising the and getting rid of energy. My dog is tired the whole next day just from playing with the other dogs. P.S the daycare also make cute montage videos of the dogs playing and upload it to the website and also take photos of the dogs around Xmas time and make little cards.

Everything in store is labelled as designer' wear from the clothing to dog bowls, accessories, toys, bedding plus more and even the food would you believe. Pampering zone involves not only bathing but painting their nails, colouring the hair (for fun apparently), and get this 'mud baths' ! What the!! I suppose if I had a small dog and sometimes I wish I could shrink my GS to fit into my handbag, I may consider doing the same. But hey, if you're someone who doesn't have kids or grandkids or care for dogs more than little people then this may be just for you and your furry family. As a note there is parking around the back which is handy and much safer.

Mojo's own Shih Tzu's, so therefore knowing the breed & how to groom/clip/style them is a such a bonus. Having said that, every dog breed I've seen coming out from here all look & smell divine. Mojo's are not your ordinary groomers like so many salons or mobile groomers around. These guys are professional stylists & there's a HUGE difference between those other groomers & the styling grooming you get here. Both Marianne & Josh are both incredibly friendly, helpful lovely people & their love of dogs is SO very obvious. As an ex Persian cat Breeder/Groomer/Show person, I very highly recommend MOJO'S!!

I returned to Mojo's salon after waiting two and a half hours to find my poor dog had not been done at all, and told by the agitated groomer he would never groom the little dog ever again due to the dog's age. Why did he accept my last booking then? So upsetting! I was stunned! Loyalty as a compliant customer didn't count for anything. I have since found a lovely, patient, caring female groomer who does a wonderful groom in half the time and for 2/3 of Mojos' ever-increasing fees. Seriously, check out other groomers if you have a senior dog who needs care, otherwise you'll be sidelined.

Well it may get bored and start to behave badly as a result - but if you drop it off at Dogcity Daycare it will be busy socialising with other dogs. You can purchase a range of items for your dog when you drop them off or pick them up from their day of socialising and stimulating interplay - things like chews and pigs ears... and the friendly staff will let you know if your best friend has behaved well - which of course under the circumstances he or she probably has. Dropping Harold off to the care of strangers is a little nerve-racking as Bulldogs have special needs, however the friendly team at Dogcity let me know that he was in safe hands and that I would receive updates during the day, reassured, I left feeling confidant Harold was going to have a great day! The energy and excitement in the centre was amazing, you could really tell that these people love what they do. Before I left for work, I had a look through the viewing window and Harold was already running a muck with his new friends. The thing that took this experience from good to brilliant, was the level of personalised communication I received. During the day, "Harold" sent me a text message with some photos of his new friends (who knew dogs had such skills!): Hi Mum, My new friends have let me borrow the work phone so that I could send you a message; I told them that I'm fine and would rather keep playing, but they've said that it's always important to let Mum's know. Apparently you guys worry about us or something. I'm having the best time. Heston is here and we've both been body slamming. They have a bunch of tennis balls here too, so I've been slobbering over all of those and carrying them around. There are two Huskies, Ace and TJ, who like playing with tennis balls also, so we've been having a great time together. I hope you're having a good day, but I doubt it's as fun as mine - ha! I felt the need to update my review regarding this shelter after my recent experiences over the…read morelast 4 weeks of owning my new kitten. The follow up service with our kitten has been non-existent. We were told on the day of adoption that we would receive a call 1 week later to arrange a time for the first round of vaccinations and desexing. We didn't. After we queried our cat's slightly weepy eye on the day of adoption the "local vet" at the shelter at the time said it was only conjunctivitis. Not so, it was Cat Flu. I can understand it is hard to reduce cases of cat flu in a shelter. I can also understand they must be run off their feet here. But since following up to book our kitten in for desexing the woman on the phone was abrupt and generally inconsiderate. It is highly inconvenient to try and book in to the vet (only on weekdays and out at Elizabeth) and to be honest I do not trust the "local vet" who did not warn us that conjunctivitis is an obvious symptom of cat flu on the day of adoption. Our kitten is fine and now healthy (thanks to a local vet), I just wouldn't get our next from this shelter that is clearly a bit too overwhelmed, burdened and unprofessional in their management of their little ones and who I have since heard have adopted out at least 2 other cats with cat flu to friends of mine.

With a few volunteers around various areas and in the shelter itself, I am completely in awe with what they achieve, looking after kitties, making sure they are desexed, and promoting responsible pet ownership. We have 3 rescue cats (yes, we're officially 'crazy cat ladies'!), and our third one, Rosie, came from here. She had been at HSTFO for 12 months, but she adjusted to her new home (and new sisters) pretty quickly! Of course, what you pay for the cats go directly to the shelter, and is minimal anyway (just covering costs of vet bills and food that you take with you) - Rosie, as an adult cat, was only $130 - much more responsible than buying a pure breed! So if you're thinking of inviting a cat into your home, PLEASE consider visiting Nicky! She has over 100 cats, so there is sure to be one to suit your home and family. With so many cats wanting furrever homes, it would be ridiculous not to!

Then if that's the case, Pet Stock Allenby Gardens have a very good do-it-yourself dog washing facility. Open 24x7, no need to book, though you may have to wait whilst another dog is undergoing his or her wash, it's not only convenient but clean, safe, provides plenty of options for washing, shampooing and drying, and is also easy to operate. Though I have to say my very reluctant gal didn't like the blow dryer, not even on low speed, it did have a rather loud sound and quite a gutsy blow too. Maybe best for long haired, double coated dogs. You can, as I did, take your own shampoo and conditioner, but I did on one occasion use the ones provided and found that, even though my gal suffers from allergies, they proved to be quite satisfactory. The cost, even if you have the 'full monty' is very cheap, definitely will not break the bank. The washing tank has a hook, to which you can safely attach your dog, though I didn't bother with that, but nice to know you can if your pooch is extremely reluctant to take a bath. Plenty of car parking available, especially later at night when I usually go. Any problems and the staff in Pet Shop are only too happy to oblige, even if you have to go a couple of days later as I did, due to the fact the shop was closed when we first went to use the washing facilities. My problem was, for some reason, the coin slot was jammed, not a regular occurrence, it's only happened once, which for a public facility I feel is very good. My only other problem was that on one occasion, the person in before me, did not bother to wash out the tank! As there is a notice clearly asking patron to wash the tank, this wasn't very thoughtful of that person. Only takes a moment and doesn't cost you a cent to be clean and thoughtful. For this reason I'm taking off a star, but other than that, I'm more than happy to use this dog wash. And, speaking of the shop its self, very dog friendly and an excellent range of not only dog products, but other animal needs are all also available.

I brought Chester here for his annual vaccination ( proudly adopted him from the RSPCA) and John immediately took over Chester, talking to him calmly ( too cute!) and did the basic steps of taking his weight, checking his eyes, body and so forth. Booster shots given and with a clean bill of health, we finalised the necessary payment and commended Dr. John for a great consultation. The reception is usually manned by one staff who is well trained and I was extremely happy when she displayed knowledge on booster shots for adult cats. Clean and spotless premises with a great doctor and friendly staff on board.

They didn't have heaps of little/young puppies and these were the only 2 we really liked. So a lady that worked there opened the cage and let us go in with them. She came up to us stright away and was so inquisitive. So we decided to get her. Well apparently since we had a dog already we were required to go home and get our existing dog and bring it up to the RSPCA to be put inside a larger enclosure with us AND the new puppy we wanted. If all was ok THEN we could buy the dog. Well all went well and we walked out with a new puppy :-) Considering you get a desexed and vaccinated animal, and in fact mine was even microchipped (which also saves money on dog registration each year with my council) it is really cheap as there is a set price for a dog, cat and rabbit. So it doesn't matter which one you choose or what breed it is, which is great. They have an excellent website where you can view pets they have available at the shelter. They also have boarding kennels and a cattery if you have to go away. I even noticed a horse in one of the area's this time I went.
