Danish language class!!…read more As every language school the quality depends on the teacher. So far so good !! I had 3 teachers and all of them were really good. The infrastructure of the school is also good. Every classroom is equipped with a projector and computer. And the students can even use iPads. The canteen is actually good as well. They have yummy cheap sandwiches (10 Kr.) and the coffee is only 5 Kr. I suppose it's mainly for the students.

I can only recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Danish…read more They have very efficient teaching method and they select their students based on the students' education background, so chance you will be sitting in a class with others with the same education level as you, making it easier for the whole class to learn something together. That's why you have to attend a placement test if you have learned some Danish, just to know where you should start. I myself started from Module 3 (halfway up) and while it was difficult to start from the middle without properly knowing the basics, I finished my Danish course (paid by the kommune) within half year only. Of course, it all depends on which teacher you get, and I got an awesome teacher all the way (Kamma Andersen) so take her class if you know she's teaching the semester.

Yes yes yes. I have taken 3 out of 4 Danish modules here and I am 100% satisfied. The school is…read moreorganised and is quite strict, so only people who really want to learn can keep up. You are aloud to miss only a certain amount of classes meaning that if you miss too many you will need to repeat the class. If the teacher thinks you re not at the level of others they also tell you to repeat. When you want to start they make you take a test so they will assign you to the right level. Same happens if you take a brake of more than 6 weeks from the school. They also demand that everyone has a high education and a good English. Friends of mine that changed to this school after taking modules elsewhere, had problems of keeping up as the level was too high and some were even rejected as their level was not as high as it should. The books you get are free and you don't need to give them back as in other schools. You also have pronunciation classes for free if you want to join. The class rooms are nice and are equipped with a computer and a projector which we use often to present something or listen and watch to a video. I also have met a lot of nice people here. So I highly recommend it to dedicated learners. The only negative side is that I heard from other students that they had some teachers that were not nice or too strict. We also had sometimes replacement teachers that were in my opinion too soft and easy going. So I guess it depends very much on the teacher as well. Mine was Jorun and she was very good.

How many modules I have to pass and in what length of time and when it is possible to make breaks. After this, I got a choice of dates to start - it was overly subscribed and there was a month long wait to start. Luckily they fit me into an earlier class. Still, when you get there for your first lesson, only half of those registered turn up. This is not the fault of the school but they could have a better system with putting people on waiting lists to join a class that is actually undersubscribed. Teachers. They are hit and miss. They seem very disorganised and causal about the whole affair. All three (due to our main teacher not being able to make the lesson or was off ill) did not give structured teaching and were easily distracted by non-Danish language matters. One supply teacher spent half an hour to give us his life story when a fellow student politely asked how he came to be a Danish teacher. The school is large and has a good study area and a computer room for those who don't have internet access. It also has a cheap canteen serving awful but cheap (3 DKK) coffee and tea that you serve yourself in thermos flasks. There are also sandwiches and pastries that are also reasonably priced!

Not being well versed in Danish, it was a bit hard for me to locate studios online, but low and behold, I was tipped off about Sceneindgangen, which happened to be halfway between the University and my house. This studio could not be more perfect. They offer classes of all levels for people of all ages, but particularly for adults. If you are a beginner dancer who wants to get into dance, this place is great. If you are experienced dancer who wants to keep working your thing, it is also perfect. Sceneindgangen is like a small scale Broadway Dance Center in Copenhagen. They offer classes almost everyday both during the day and in the evenings. Jenny Major's Modern/Contemporary and Jazz classes are fantastic. She really works specific details with technique, while always presenting fun, creative and challenging choreography. I particularly enjoy how her choreographic style is so closely connected to the music she sets her pieces too. If you are a dancer looking for some classes, whether you are a beginner or an expert, this is the place to be!

A quick walk through a pleasant neighborhood, then a very short walk through the woods and a small park. There's a toilet at the bathing structure. Also, when we went, there was a snack bar. And there is also a parking lot. The structure is remarkably interesting -- a great place to take a high dive plunge or slip in and paddle around. The water was chilly but refreshing. It felt safe and convenient and was a wonderful slice of Danish life. Try the pleasant cafe just to the north.

Designed by White Arkitekter, it's a very nice building, all in wood. You can swin from it, sink from it, have sun. There are mainly teens in the "loop"but it's very funny to see them, talking, dredging, etc... Then, you can go there by metro or bicycle. There's a nice promenade all along the sea, in Amager Strandpark. It's magic !

Okay, now I'm in my happy place…read more The Medical Museum, like that of the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia and the Narrenturm in Vienna, has lots of bones and guts and blood on display. There's a lot to see and read about in this museum, so if you're not weak-willed and can stomach some blood and guts, then I highly recommend this place. I really liked walking into the lecture room, a semi-circle of seats pointed towards a single podium. Just like in the movies. The basement also had a creepy sort of feel to it. Just like the movies. Since everything is housed in the actual space, it is truly authentic. Unfortunately, it is not ideal for the disabled and I don't think wheelchairs are able to get around at all. There are lots of stairs, even on a single level, and some are quite percarious at that. I tried using a Yelp check-in coupon with the nice gent that was selling tickets, but he claimed he had never seen one before in all his years working there. The manager, Vivika I believe her name, was very nice about honoring the discount, though she wasn't sure about it either. I guess there aren't enough Yelpers in Cph yet. She then was very thorough about telling me what was on display. Really enjoyed my visit here, and would recommend it for all weirdos like me.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!…read more I have been to the Mutter Museum in Philly and I have been in a Medical History Museum in Indy. And this Medical Museion is like a perfect blending of the best parts of both of these spots! It helps that it is included with the Copenhagen Card, so it *feels* free, when actually you have already paid for it... But I gotta tell ya...even if it wasn't included with the card and you had to pay for it no matter what....you should go here! This was the first thing I found myself interested in when searching for things to do in Copenhagen. I was just so excited to see there was a medical museum in the city. And it surpassed my expectations. The museum is very close to the Marmorkirke and the Amalienborg Palace. So you can cover a lot of attractions in one day, in one area, should you want to. The museum hosts an interesting and mind-messing specimen collection. Much of it had me reading all of the info cards with my mouth agape, just thinking "....wow!" Definitely not for the squeamish, and maybe wait until your lunch has settled, or even eat after your visit, before decided to feast your eyes on some fetuses and brains and whatnot. While we were there, the museum was host to an interesting exhibit on the lower level called "Mind The Gut," which was really interesting and had a fun interactive game/"prescription" machine/fortune teller thing. The information signs throughout the museum are in Danish and English. And they have regular English-language guided tours. But as a native English speaker, you will not have a problem getting the most out of this museum. The staff at the welcome desk were friendly and happy to give us all the information we wanted. They absolutely added to our positive experience at the museum. I loved my visit here and would highly encourage anyone in to this kind of stuff, or who like off-the-beaten-path types of things, to pay the museum a visit!
