Feels like the good ole' sketchy liquor store. Homeless people love to grab their booze and get hammered downtown after. The owner is a cool guy and it's mostly college kids working. Their new rewards program is great if you have substance problems and like to save money. read more

I sadly can no longer recommend this business for our community. I highly recommend not buying tobacco products here, especially their Juul pods. I spent over $20 on two packs of rusted pods. I opened both packages in front of the worker and he said he could not replace them. He took down my number and name and a month later I still have not received a refund or exchange, let alone a phone call. If you need flavors or variety, I recommend Vape World on Campbell. Same prices, if not better, and they will exchange product if it is faulty. I had gone to discount smokes since 2012 and will no longer be giving them my business or money. I highly recommend you do the same. I will gladly change my opinion and review if they are willing to stop stealing peoples money, but highly doubt they are willing to correct their errors with the way they speak to customers with a concern. Excellent prices on liquor many places close by and especially better pricing on pods at Vape World with the product guaranteed. Sorry DSB! HEY all you haters out there. DSB is OK. SO what if they're rude, and not open during their normal hours? Sometimes you have to sacrifice all that for savings. You can get that there. Sure it's cramped inside, and it has to be that way so they can make room for all the pictures of those who attempt to steal from them, the false ID's that they've collected, and their transient policy. Transients are given instructions to go to Kum and Go down the street. At least they instruct them where to go. IT's not like they just let them figure it out for themselves. And who cares if they sometimes won't take US currency in coins. They make more money by people using their debit cards. On a good day, they can be polite. I've seen it. Sometimes, they actually say "thank you". So quit giving them a hard time. read more

I only stop in occasionally for smokes and beer, but it's close and convenient. Prices are reasonable, some lower than expected. My only quibble is the rare moment when the store is closed unexpectedly and I have to go back another day. Other than that it's my go to place for beer and smokes. read more

Ive bought my American Spirit tobacco here for almost a year. Last month they raised the cost from 7.30 to 8.50, and today they raised it again, now to 9.45, for the same pouch, WITHOUT papers. Then the guy stops me as Im paying and refuses to sell to me, because i had more than 20 coins. You know, since I brought enough money to buy the same exact thing I just bought 5 days ago and didnt expect to have to dig out change. All in all, take your business elsewhere, the new management here completely ruined the store. read more

I have been shopping at Discount Smokes & Beer since 2002 and except for a few stray problems here and there, my experience has been exceptional. I smoke a fairly unpopular brand and that makes it more expensive except at DS&B. Jim, who has been the owner since opening, was always quick to smile, chat and make sure you had everything you needed in his power. I know the new owner as he has worked here for some time, and I am hopeful everything remains pretty much the same as before, why fix it if it ain't broke right? They have no problem taking coupons and I find the prices on everything to be cheaper than anywhere I have ever found. The nice young college students who typically work there are friendly, knowledgeable and will even walk you out to your car if it is late and you are uneasy-I CALL THAT A+ SERVICE! If you're looking for fancy go somewhere else, but if you want the lowest everyday prices and some of the best service in town Discount Smokes & Beer is for you.
