Went here to get tires replaced. They greeted me right away. They helped me with in 5 minutes. They explained my options and price ranges. They then went out to my car and got some info. They explained my 2 front tires were good for a more tread use. But rear tires obviously needed replacement. Next we discussed the tires I had had a newer model now it was $93 a tire I asked how much the upgrade would be it was $7 dollars more per tire so I opted for the upgrade. The service manager Then asked if I would want to replace all 4 tires that day for a trade in discount. They took off $36 dollars. I decided it was a good deal. They came in at $549 with labor. Online prices for the tires were at $89-139 for similar tires. I got the Goodyear assurance ultra-tour. They estimated 1 hour to 1.5 they texted me about 45-50 minutes later. This was on a Saturday around 1pm in on March 3. I was treat with respect and they didn't do a hard up sale they started with a low priced tire. They finished early. Stopped in for 2 new tires, they made an appt for the next day since they had to order in the tires. Jesse was super friendly and helpful with No Pressure. Next morning I arrived, Noe did an efficent job chdcking me in. When Jesse arrived he said hi, can't bel he remembered me! 2 tires rotated and 2 new put on in 40 mins flat. I have always found Discount Tire to have good service, but today I waited in line behind 2 cars to get the air in my tires checked and no one said anything to me. I had to leave and when I came back, there was no one in line at the tire check. They were checking out one car in the stall, then they went and got another car and put in the stall. They never acknowledged my presence at all. They should have come over and told me it would be a ten minute wait or something. I'm very disappointed in their service today. I had to leave as I had other appointments. The Manager needs to get on top of this now. read more

The day of days I have recently.... I work downtown and I backed into a pole, dented my bumper. I was leaving work and my tire must have felt like out and found a nail to eat... I've never had a flat so i was driving and felt it... pulled over to the Exxon on N Koenigheim St and the kind guy aired it up but told me to go to the glorious discount tire across the street. I went in right about closing time which i was scared they were going to turn me down. I walked in the store and around 3-4 men were in there and all smiling and eager to help. Chris the manager asked what i needed and i told him i had a nail. I was nervous ( first flat and dumb as rocks when it comes to cars ) I wasn't sure how to fix it and cost. Christ laughed and said it was free to patch it up. FREEEEEEEEEE my mother told me nothing in life was free... Seriously I've never been in a place with what seemed to be an all male staff that was so nice and upbeat. I stopped in to see what might be involved before committing to using this store to change the tires on my 2007 Honda Accord. They did not have the tires I wanted in stock. I was surprised when they offered to put a different sized tires on than were specified in the owner's manual. They were close to the same size and probably would not be unsafe but would change the accuracy of the speedometer, something they did not tell me. I went elsewhere. I can understand a desire to make a sale now, but that seems going a bit far. read more

Air conditioned waiting area is nice when you live in a hot area like San Angelo. Financing available. I just financed 4 new tires for my carpet cleaning truck about 60 days ago. I'm having a slow leak repaired in a tire on a separate truck today. They also offer free air checks and fill your tires to the proper psi. Kris and his team were outstanding. My father and I had gotten a flat tire and were passing through San Angelo. We called ahead and told Kris and his team our situation. They were willing to stay after hours to help us out; if they hadn't, we might've had to spend the night in San Angelo instead of continue on our trip to Austin. Our flat was not fixable so they quickly but thoroughly gave us the options available for a new tire. I picked a tire and they installed two of them very quickly on the car. We had arrived at 6:04PM and we were driving away by 6:30. The store is supposed to close at 6PM. Kris and his employee Ronald (?) stayed late to assist. This review is not about the local staff at my local store or any other store because the service this company provides at the store couldn't be better. Wonderful staff, courteous, friendly, and never a mistake. So if anyone reads this about my 15 year business relationship with Discount Tire you will know I rate their service at more than five stars. What I am dissapointed with are the present ways the company chooses to give the customers a "sale". I'm a very small business owner and I must get the best value for my two Suburban vehicles. When Discount tire first opened for business in our city tires were discounted at the store and once that purchase was made I was off the hook. Good for me. Today I am offered a rebate card that I have to go on line and do several things to get the rebate card sent to me. That is very bad for my business because once I get the new tires on.....I use them. I'm off to another destination because my business is a traveling one. The rebate is never thought of again. This leaves me with the feeling that some slick marketing guy dreamed this up so they wouldn't have to give a rebate to everyone who purchased the tires that were "on sale". I have been a cash customer all of these years so credit is not on my mind usually. But at times my customers are late with payments as anyone might and I may need tires. I was offered the 60 day same as credit thing a while back and so I set it up in case my cash flow ever gets stopped up. So when I get my first statement is see the interest rate on the back of the statement. Geez Louise....that will stop anybody from using this option....maybe not everyone but it sure will stop me. With the rebates a questionable item for me I no longer see tires as being put on sale. I need my sale price extended to me at the store and I'd like to see a good credit rating provide me with a better interest rate at the git go. Once again, the store itself and the staff members are the best around and I'll just keep myself as a cash customer but now Discount tire will have to compete with anyone in town who offers a true sale price and provides that sale price during the purchase. Went in to have tire pressure checked, after receiving reminder by email. Asked questions about tire rotation. As it turned out , my tires needed to be rotated. Had tires rotated, it didn't take very long even though I was in no hurry. Every time I have been there, I am greeted with a smile . Their customer service is excellent .
