The last daycare was double in price, and did not have the same kind of strong programming that Bouts d'Choux does. The preschool group charges $817 a month, to give you an idea. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family: I fully trust the way this daycare is organised. The caregivers have been chosen with the right care. It's humbling to see the way they work together as a team, to care for our kids. My kids have been through each of their 4 categories: infant (poupons), toddler (bambins), preschool (classe prescolaire), and finally the afterschool program (maternelle-jardin, ou 6-12). I work with kids for a living, and can tell that much thought, effort, and pride, goes into planning the daily activities, giving a good variety of socialisation, outdoor play, creative projects, daily stories and songs. Their hot meal plan is included. This place is worth its cost, and more. I genuinely love the francophone environment, and perhaps above all, I love the caregivers there. He is thriving here! never a problem with taking him and he actually never wants to leave! (um, what does that say about us? :) I can tell he is learning quite a bit - caught him at 1.5 years trying to count in french, and he can't even speak more than words really (and we are not french speakers, only grandparents). He loves learning via music and their program allows for that! They are priced so well compare to some other private establishments and this is a registered facility, monitored regularly (i know as I happened to see them being inspected once) and they are fully immersing the kids in french - really the teachers actually struggle with English. The teachers have been there forever, showing that they have truly built a great community and staff. My oldest still comes by to say hello because of how much she loves the staff. The food is healthy and carefully prepared by their amazing on-site cook. There is a great program for education that is heads above most daycares that are glorified babysitters. The facility is always clean, fresh, and full of positive energy. They are a standalone building with strict safety protocols and a large dedicated outdoor playground. The staff is highly responsive and responsible. They know each parent and child by name. As someone that deeply values building little kids up (mind, body, and soul) this place does a wonderful job, and anyone would be lucky to have their kids go to this daycare. She is the most senior teacher for the graduating students, and the children love her. She is both academically strong in teaching, (phonics, to support early reading, cursive, writing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing) and is compassionate and sees the whole child so each student feels valued. All of my children's teachers have been outstanding. As a secondary educator myself, I have always been happy with Great Lakes Montessori. ECEs in the classroom , Ms Franca and Ms Alinda are excellent. French Mme Rita is a retired French elementary teacher who is super qualified in her post supporting French Language. Music Ms Lee is an excellent pianist and music teacher. She plays at each graduation and event. The kids love her! Meals Fresh food prepared by the school cook always includes fresh fruits and vegetables. Excellent value. Administration Ms Shazia and Ms Tina have always been professional, receptive, accommodating, and excellent in communicating and accommodating requests to support the well-being of our children. My son (1.5 years) was at this daycare part-time for almost 1.5 months…read more From the day two, we noticed neither my son nor his teacher (Sahar) was looking forward to seeing each other in the mornings. There were many mornings I had to stay and wait at the doorstep simply because Sahar was pretending she was busy with something, turning her back to the door as soon as she could see me and my baby boy coming down the hallway. And mind you that, these are the mornings I had to rush to go to work while dropping off my baby on my way to the office! On one occasion when I dropped off my child when I walked out of the room I heard my son screaming. I immediately looked back and noticed Sahar had hit my son's head to the shelf over his high chair and had proceeded to forcibly push my son into his high chair with anger. I went back to the room and helped her putting my baby in his high chair properly. That day I thought maybe she didn't have a good day so I let it go. I also tried to put my baby in his high chair every morning since after. On another occasion , my wife witnessed Sahar not being nice to our son when my wife went to the daycare to pick him up. Sahar did not notice my wife was watching her from behind the glass door! Bottom line is Sahar's attitude towards our loved one and us never changed. I never understood what Sahar's real problem was, but the truth is she was continuously upset to see us dropping off our baby at the daycare and she couldn't hide it. My son was at this daycare for 1.5 months and we never saw Sahar's smile. We expressed our concerns about Sahar to the supervisor(Shazia) but she said my son soon to be transferred to the toddler's room, therefore, she took no actions. From the second week, we started receiving calls from the daycare supervisor expressing concerns over the fact that my son doesn't eat by himself and doesn't walk. She got us really worried so we immediately took our son to see his doctor and his doctor thoroughly examined him and expressed absolutely no concerns over my son's motor skills. We offered to bring a doctor note to the daycare but the supervisor said she was only concerned and that there was no need for the doctor's note. The truth is that daycare supervisor was just preparing the ground for her next move. Keep reading! Towards the end of the first month, the supervisor contacted my wife and said she has found legislation that prevents her from keeping my son in the infants room, and some other legislation indicating that my son can't be accepted in the toddlers room either. We were shocked to hear this as it was never communicated to us. Basically, she asked us to stop bringing our child to her daycare! When we asked for her to refer us to the legislation or show us the existence of such information in the daycare's parents' handbook, she rudely refused to do so! Just to recap, we are in the process of filing a legal complaint with the ministry of education against the daycare and taking appropriate legal actions against Sahar. To us, Sahar could be anyone, but a child caregiver and we definitely don't recommend having your baby to stay with her nor with a daycare with such an unethical management style and lack of control over staff behavior. Another great example of a high price does not necessarily mean "high quality"! The YMS staff have always ensured my daughter was welcomed with open arms and hearts, a true testament to their caring nature, and I always felt they considered us as part of their own families. They have built a strong foundation, nurtured confidence, engaged social skills, in a way that truly demonstrates how much they care. The site is very well maintained and extremely clean. The meals and snacks are carefully planned by a nutritionists who incorporate diverse menu (fish, tofu, various ethnic menus like pad thai) that incorporates seasonal veggies and fruits. I cannot say enough about the staff though - they truly love what they do and it shows. From the day we started transitioning my little one at 12 months, all the teachers have shown nothing but love and care. They make sure each child is engaged and cared for and I am always grateful for all the work that they do with the children. The webcam access to the room is also a bonus (it came really handy during the first few weeks when it was just as much of a transition period for me as it was for my child - I may have spent a good chunk of my day watching/weeping/laughing). Another added bonus is how responsive the head-office is to suggestions. Parents are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions and they are very responsive to parents' inputs. The weekly newsletter also allows us to know what my little one has been learning so that we can reinforce some of the things at home (ex. songs or books that they have been learning). My youngest son is 3 years old and is currently attending the Preschool class at Kids & Co. Finch. He started off slowly with his language skills but since being at Kids & Co. he has quickly picked it up and is now able to communicate very well for his age. He is very engaged and interested in learning and this is because the staff at Kids & Company make learning fun. The site also offers a delicious and healthy meal plan that keeps the children energized throughout the day as well as regular outdoor play, as weather permits. The rooms are well-kept and there are usually two staff members in the preschool room, which helps keep things manageable and allows the preschoolers to receive special, individual attention, as needed. An added bonus is that the whole facility has recently been renovated and it really looks fantastic. The children are encouraged to play together and are taught to respect one another which in turn enables them to create lasting friendships, even at an early age. An incredible nursery / pre-school, and neighbourhood gem…read more All 3 of my children have flourished at and enjoyed their years at Creative Corner, which offers 2 unique programs (T/Th for 2 year olds, and M/W/F for 3 year olds), a perfect supplement to my kids' time with me at that age. My kids have waltzed into kindergarten (whereas I'm the one crying) after being a part of the nurturing and cooperative environment. The classroom is bright, welcoming, and colourful, and the program structure offers creative play based stations & hands on activities that are different every day. Teachers are incredible. They develop a special relationship with each child, and are always available to communicate with parents. Diapers and all stages of potty training are welcome, which made the training less stressful in our home. Kids get to bring their packed lunch to school in the 3 day program, which is adorable, and great practice for Kindergarten. This is one of the only cooperative nursery schools in the area, which means parents have lower fees, and can play a small role in the ongoings of the school, or even join the executive. I will be heavy hearted to be moving on from Creative Corner (after 5 years) in June, and would highly recommend it to any and every family looking for a part time nursery school for their little one.

Shortly after joining Creative Corner, wow. I can attribute this to the teacher, Meg, and the nurturing environment she fosters. The classroom is always kept neat & clean, amazing given that they're toddlers! If we have another child, I would most certainly bring them here for 2 years as well. Without dishonouring other schools, I have to say that Radiant Way Montessori stands out in many areas. First of all, the teachers here are so passionate, caring and loving! Particularly, Ms. Anahita, the principal, is the kind of person who speaks from her heart, who truly cares about children. I honestly fell in "trust" with this school at the first sight because of her passion, sincerity and knowledge. Secondly, this school offers a true Montessori program. Ms. Anahita is an instructor who trains new Montessori teachers. Both of her daughters are teachers. The classroom is well equipped with authentic Montessori learning tools. During observation, I was amazed to see how engaged all children were at their chosen activities. My son has grown so much socially and academically in this school. I feel really good about sending my son to such an outstanding program! Last but not least, Radiant Way Montessori is always clean and well organized whenever I go. She is…read morea brown lady and so aggressive when she talk...She talks like she knows everything and assume we are clueless parents...She also assume we spoil our kids and my mom doesn't teach our chlid anything at home...Even if I want to send my child to a Montesorri school, it will not be this place. No wonder they have spot and not full.I know a mom who send her 2 kids there now and told me before that her kids didn't learn much compared to Marander Montessi School which she heard from friends teaches the kids way more. This place is not a real Montessor school but run more like a like daycare and still charge the premium Montesorri school rate $$ = $300 more per month than a regular daycare if you include early pick up and late drop off (7:30am to 6pm). She also pushes for you to have grand parents or someone else pick up your kids by 3:30pm and not later (odd). This place also does not seem that organized either when we ask if there is a daily progress report or schedule. Even other daycares provide daily progress report to tell you how your child is doing, what activities did he/she do or learned. Therefore, some Montessori School like this one is not worth the $$$. Might as well send to a regular to daycare and save the extra costs! lol
