Really impressed with this one stop shop for gifts in south Boston, Va. I'm from Chesterfield and when I come visit my mom I always make a point to stop in and look around. I am a huge supporter of small businesses and with walmart and other large stores so close, it's nice to see a shop like this doing well. My now husband bought me two initial necklaces from here. One when we were dating w my first initial and another he gave to me the day we for married with my last name initial. During the holidays the shop goes all out decorating and creating a great shopping atmosphere. And the prices aren't any different than you would pay anywhere else. What you can't put a price on is service. When I bought the deer display out of the window the people that worked there all helped me get it in my car and make sure I knew how to assemble the deer. Unlike some places where I would have been given a cart and with my merchandise and sent out the door. This was one of the worst consignment shop experiences I have ever had. I went into the shop thinking I could get some great deals with the sign outside saying 50% off, everything must go. Well, I think there is a reason the store was going out of business. A normal globe was $120. A magnifying glass was $24. The most basic chairs were $96 a piece; not for a set. I was truly shocked with some of the prices; especially with the store going out of business. I can honestly say that you better own an oil company if you hope to make any purchases in this store. read more
