Then he provided us with inaccurate documents placing seller's name in the area that the buyers' name were suppose to be. There was a delay in the process since our agent kept asking Ben for the amended documents with the appropriate names. He proceeded to ignore messages and then came back with, "why are you delaying on your end, now we're entertaining other offers." He did not amend the documents with the right legal names (was so unprofessional and attempted to break our contract). The beginning was just the tip of the major struggles we faced during the process. His lack of communication, disrespect and unprofessional traits made the process arduous. My husband and I loved the property and we had no choice to deal with the seller's choice of agent-Ben. I DO NOT recommend Ben as anyone's agent, save yourself the unnecessary stress. Now we currently own the property and Ben is not responding to any of our concerns regarding getting our keys for our home! In addition he has left his "for sale" sign up and has not removed any of the lock boxes or taken down our posting (basic jobs he is responsible for as the seller's agent). Ben seems to treat the process with any lack of customer service skills. We have attempted to contact him through all possible routes and now are forced to file a compliant with hybrid brokers realty-Sacramento. I would give him zero stars if possible.

It is hard to imagine a better agent. One expects basic things like professionalism and honesty from real estate agents, but John Lauer is really in a class all his own in this regard. I have been party to several real-estate transactions over the years, and I am well-aware of the many subtle ways that typical agents shape what they say toward the end of closing a deal. That is how they make their living, after all. Most are basically honest, and will give you a straight answer if you know what questions to ask. But John stands out, in that he genuinely acted in MY interest every step of the way. There is a distinction between "working to close a deal" and "acting strictly in the client's best interest." Most agents I have worked with try to balance both, but tend to lean a bit toward the former. John Lauer stands squarely in the "client's interest" territory, and that is extremely important in my view. Equally important is that he worked very hard for me, even though my purchase was not a high-end property. A tangible example: I purchased in a very tight market, with exceedingly low inventory of suitable properties. At his own initiative, John took the step of directly contacting a LARGE number of owners in the area, on a "cold mailing" basis, on my behalf. It was through this mechanism that the place I ultimately purchased was found. Had it not been for John's initiative, I would have been out of luck. You want to work with this agent! Luckily, they had a house for rent at about the halfway point to make my and my husband's commute tolerable. We spent our first couple years of marriage there and even added to our family, so we were a bit sad to move. Jodie is professional and very prompt with communication. If we ever had an issue, we just had to either call or text him and it was handled within a reasonable time frame. He was in close communication with the owner as well, which is likely why things were taken care of promptly. When we had issues with our bank transferring our rent, we also communicated that with him, so we were able to just drop off a check instead. We were able to make some temporary upgrades to the home while renting with them as well. We added a smart thermostat and a doorbell camera without any issues. My husband and I were sure to re-install the existing doorbell and thermostat upon moving. Since we moved from the Bay Area towards the Sacramento Valley, we were able to rent a home for the same price (if not cheaper) as the apartments and some townhomes by the surrounding areas of Travis AFB. That being said, we got the best bang for our buck in that regard. Even with the extra expenses of having a house, such as hiring a gardener for biweekly maintenance and trash & recycling pick-up, the price for renting was still more than reasonable. Overall, we are very pleased with our time renting from Professional Property Management. We had a cozy stay at a wonderful home that we kept up to the best of our ability.
