One of the better bookstores in Tijuana, used by many schools. Good selection of stationery, too. Unfortunately, like most Mexican bookstores, very hard to browse. Most books are sealed in plastic and are not well organized. read more

I had a terrible time coming in here to pick up some tickets I ordered online with Ticketmaster…read more This is the only Ticketmaster location in Tijuana, so it was the only place I could go. They didn't speak English, which is fine, as it should be a fairly easy transaction with my limited Spanish. But they didn't like my credit card because the numbers were on the back and they couldn't use their ancient credit card slip system. They told me I'd need to call Ticketmaster and change credit cards, which wasn't going to happen as I don't live in Tijuana and wasn't going to negotiate that hour-long phone call. They got back on the phone with Ticketmaster after my insistence, and couldn't reach a human. They kept trying to give up and send me away, but I told them I was not leaving. Finally I told them they can use a pencil to take an imprint of the card. The second guy tried the machine and lo and behold, it took an imprint just fine. Why couldn't the girl try that 30 minutes prior rather than wasting my time? Then she wrote the details on the slip and screwed up and had to rip it up and start over. I know these guys don't actually work for Ticketmaster, but if they're going to be the agents for people who need to pick up their tickets, they need to be better trained. This was a train wreck of an experience, and after 45 minutes in the store and much frustration, I finally walked out of the store with my tickets. It could have been a 5 minute visit.

It's a small bookstore, with mostly second hand books. They have a section of books sold by local authors, with all profits going directly to the authors - which was nice. Not a place to go if you have something very specific in mind, but perfect to browse and read and escape the noise of the city for a bit.

The owner is super old school and chill. He gave me a tour of his bookstore and was very familiar with a German author that made a name for himself in Mexico where he married a Mexican lady and had his books translated by her. I was happy to find a lot of his books here to replace some that were never returned to me. The shop is small and cozy. The walls are literally covered from ceiling to floor with books. There's no room for them. I couldn't resist and kept adding books to my pile. A lot of my selections are hard to find and was happy to have found them here. This place is so old school that the owner doesn't even have a cash register. Sadly he mentioned that he is quickly going out of business as the internet and huge chains as B&N are putting him out of business. Support these small businesses.
