My one "must have" for my vacation is a mani-pedi. I read some less-than-good reviews on Diva Nails, but for the most part they had really good reviews so I decided to try them. I called ahead to make an appointment for a Wednesday at 10:30am. That morning I was running behind (cleaning lovebugs off my car took longer than expected). I called Diva Nails and they explained---very accurately---that if I were late to my appointment that would cause the technician to get behind in her appointments. I completely understood that and was prepared for a very long wait since I was 10 minutes late to my appointment. However, when I arrived, the technicians were very gracious and got me right in. In seeing how busy they were, and how booked they were for the rest of the week, I was grateful they took me when I arrived. My gel mani-pedi was a beautiful neon pink color that screamed "vacation!!" and was really well executed. Sandy was my technician. The salon was clean, organized, and hygienic. The nail clippers, cuticle clippers, and other nail implements had been autoclaved. The experience was very relaxing. I was very impressed and will return the next time I'm in the area. Since they are so busy I recommend calling ahead for an appointment. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I came in with several girls from my wedding party, I was the bride. I came in the day before my wedding so it was one thing checked off my list (thinking the nail salon was professional enough to put good polish on my nails to last...and they barely lasted through the wedding....my thumb nail was chipping off that day). I was literally yelled at by the girl doing my nails after I reminded her the detail that I wanted. She stood up, yelled at me, the manager, and made a horrible scene in front of everyone in the salon. After her fit, not one employee apologized to me....and they were fully aware that I was the bride. What was supposed to be a fun, relaxing time at the nail salon, turned into a very stressful experience. The promised discount was not given to anyone and I was charged an extra $10 for my detail after I was yelled at by my nail lady. When I emailed the manager, he said he had apologized (I clearly remember him sitting behind his nail desk looking like a 5yr old who just got yelled at by his mom, not acting professional at all with any sign of an apology). I asked that all my wedding party get a 50% refund for the way we were treated and to not give me a certificate because we, nor will anyone I know be returning to the establishment. His response was "*The final Decision that I'll give you a Gift Certificate for pedi/mani , you can use in the future or give to a friend or family to use it" and that he will not be giving any refund. The diamonds he put on were sloppy. Not even a week later I was able to take the nails off within ten minutes without soaking them or anything. I am happy I didn't read the yelp reviews before trying this salon. I needed my eyebrows done quickly on my way home. The salon was clean and every one was friendly. I went to the waxing room and this super nice older lady did my eyebrows. She took her time and was very patient with my unruly eyebrows. She shaped them amazing. I mostly go to tips to toes for my nails but they always do a crappy rushed job on my eyebrows. I will definitely be coming back to diva nails for my eyebrows again. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. I was visiting from Atlanta for a wedding and walked in. I thought it was nice when I was there but as I was getting my nails done the price kept going up and up and up. Unfortunately I had already traveled back to Atlanta so I couldn't show the shop owner my nails but I did call and ask that he credit $40 of the $82 I spent but he said no, he would not help me. I just moved from Minnesota, I've been here for 7 months, and every two or three weeks I get my nails done. This salon only has women working there, and they all do a pretty good job. I know the manager really well, and in fact she's a girl. I was so surprise when someone complained about this salon, and how the manager was a guy when clearly it's a girl. The reason I'm giving this one star is because I got acrylic nails and the woman doing them cut almost every single one of my fingers. Two of my fingers bled badly and they were sensitive for a week after. The nails looked okay after my fingers healed, but I will never go back there. The first time I went there Rose helped me and she was very nice and did a really good job! The second time I went there, a guy helped me at table 3, I'm not sure if this was his name but it read "Jason T" on the table .. he did not do so good. Although he was very thorough because I wanted to take my nail shape from square to coffin (which I've done plenty of times), I assumed he knew how to do that since he didn't ask any other questions. I honestly was on a time crunch to get to my hair appointment which was shortly after that so when I was done, I just left. It wasn't until I was driving that I really was not happy with the shape what so ever so I called immediately the salon and stated I am so sorry but am unpleased. ( Mind you this is the first time I have ever called back a nail salon ) so the next day I went back and to prevent from taking up too much of his time because I already felt bad I suggested let's just cutting them down and be done. And so he did just that, filed them with a drill and tried to slap some more paint on them. He was about to leave my nails very rough on the edges and I had to ask him to buffer them to make them smoother or else I would have really hurt my little dog. I then asked "is not that something you always do when using a drill to file?" He stated no, not for coffin ( and in my head I'm thinking well if that's true then why did you buffer my nails the day before) so at this point I knew he was lying just so he could hurry up and get to the next person since they were so busy. I then asked is a coffin shape not usually a requested shape ( due to their older clientele ) and he said yes.. so At this point I completely understood because sometimes it takes practice doing a certain skill to be really good at it and it just so happened that was true for this gentlemen, which was fine. So in a calm voice I asked if he wanted to make see a picture so he could have a visual and I think that is what maybe set him off because he got very defensive and kept saying how long he's been doing nails and you cannot just go from square to coffin. ( in my head I'm thinking, no other nail salon I have been has ever had a problem, just you buddy! ) so at this point I'm getting very frustrated myself because all I was trying to do without discrediting his hard work is suggest a couple pointers for anyone else in the future doesn't have to go through that. I showed up at 8:30 this morning to a locked door and all the lights off. I came back at 9:30 to be told that the girl that does the extensions is on vacation and that they tried to call me to tell me. No, you didn't. You never even asked for my phone number when I made the appointment. The lady kept apologizing and obviously I was pissed. She then said the lady who does the extensions quit. Although my nails turned out ok...my experience was the worst. Especially since we reserved a time slot for my friend's bridal party. All of which were from out of town and after reading the reviews and because of the convenient location we decided to give them a try! We called ahead and told them what time we were coming and how many would need services. Well we arrived and it seemed like they werent prepared for our group. Then when it was time for pedicures i noted that the lady never used soap to wash my feet. Matter of fact i dont recall her using anything but water. Even when scrubbing. When I mentioned it and the fact she was rushing the lady appeared to be upset. My friend (the bride) asked for a design on her toes and nails and thats when she was told she doesnt have time to donthe design for her? What do you mean you dont have time...we reserved our time slot, you knew we were a bridal group, we just sat down not even 5 min.and you say you dont have time. Thats ridiculous! I noted dry skin that wasnt scrib.on my friends feet and requested the nail lady to fix it....she then took the skin removal tool and tried to do it while pinching my friends skin hard. This was just a few of the downsides of this business. a group of younger ladies came in and it was like their attention and focus went towards them while they were rushing to get "us" out! I've gotten my nails done and a gazillion salons so I feel somewhat of an expert on what's expected. Even if the service is lousy, if my nails look fantastic, I return. If my nails look decent but the price is awesome, I return. If one of those criterias aren't met, I won't return. This place failed, and them some. We moved to the area a year ago and I called for an appointment back in February 2012 but they said they only take "walk ins". I didn't like that answer. I prefer appoints due to my hectic schedule. I'm sure this person made a mistake but regardless, I went in. From my experience, this place cut corners (which made the tech appear lazy). I told her I was in a hurry because I wanted to see how fast she could work in case the next time I needed speedy service. What should've taken 50 min. took 1.5 hrs. That floored me. I'm also used to paying $5 less which is no big deal but for the type of service I got, I will not return. I also tried both nail salons at Merritt Island Mall (10 min from Diva Nails) and they were just okay. If anyone knows of a good nail salon (with normal prices) in the Cocoa Beach area, please comment here. In the meantime, I will continue to go to my salon near my office (downtown Orlando). NOTE: If I hear Diva Nails improves things, I will give them a 2nd chance. read more

worst. place. ever!!!! unprofessional. rude. and after i said i did not want a pedicure (as i was with my sister who has diabetic sores on her legs and was embarassed to get a pedicure, so i also declined) and would not upgrade to the gel manicure, the incredible rude man stopped mid manicure and asked me to pay. said it was $24, then asked if i was going to tip! i was shocked, gave him my card, then he announced to the entire place that i didn't have enough money on my card. it was a new gift card and i knew it was valid, but they said it only had $19 available. then another lady yelled through the shop "you have no money, only $4 available". i told her that was bs, and they should get their story staright. they were yelling in whatever language they speak and laughing, then again another lady said "yeah, only $4". obviously an attempt to humiliate me since i wouldn't give in to their tactics. the tools were not sterile, the man cut too much of my cuticles and it was painful, then they whole bs with my card (which i used immediately after with no issue, by the way!), not to mention that my nails are ragged, uneven, and the polish is messy and already flaking-i'm sure that they dilute the polish. opi does not flake this easily. i would not have stayed if it weren't for the fact that my sister is in a delicate place and was mortified. you could not pay me to go there again. and the only two positive reviews on here i assume must be paid endorsements. no way would someone have "read the reviews on yelp" and still got her nails done at this place with all the horrible one star reviews. i would have given negative stars if i could have!!! shame on me for not checking reviews first. lesson learned. little did they know i am now a local and i will spread the word. read more
