I love diva dance! It's such a fun and welcoming studio, it's a great little workout and more so it helps build CONFIDENCE. The routines are fire and very easy to follow and the instructors are energetic and patient. They walk you through each of the steps and it's a judgement free zone. After attending my first class, I could tell that they were big on community. Now, they said this during class but I didn't believe it until meeting everyone. This place is my happy place. I am writing this review after one year dancing here. The first few months I felt out of sorts. I'm of a certain age and I couldn't figure out the moves so I wanted to quit, until I realized I was getting in my own way. I wanted the joy the instructors and participants had. Then came Beyonce week. I went 3 times a week and have been hooked ever since. It's a healthy supportive community, my hubby says no matter how my day is going I leave there smiling. Come get your dopamine fix, you won't regret it. Also, for the first year I just came to the classes. They did not pressure me to do any of the special community events, I was busy with work anyway. I did one when I felt good and ready, I'm grown. So if you want to just go to a class or two, do it! It's changed how I show up at home, work, and my friends even joined me, joy is contagious. Very good studio located in a plaza with other business so parking is shared and also free. There's always ample parking as the plaza is not a high traffic one. I've taken two classes here which were in the evenings and both were not too packed. One of the classes has four people total including the instructor. Benefit of that is that you get as much room as you want and more of the one on one direction from the instructor. Their prices are fair and probably considered around standard prices for their walk-in as well as membership. The walk-in class to date is $18. You can also get unlimited classes member for $67 and $79 per month plus a one time registration fee of $40 something dollars. The $79 membership can be cancelled at anytime. They strongly encourage you to be on time. Monica is absolutely great and welcoming as well as the two lovely instructors I have had so far in both classes. If you are looking for a fun choreographed workout class to burn a few extra calories to some hits definitely check out this place. Not really any like it in the area either. read more

Diva Dance Sandy Springs is more than just a dance studio, it's a mix of fun, fitness, and community. The more you attend, the more you get to know people and build friendships. The community is very welcoming of newcomers. Also, you don't have to be a professional dancer. The community is about body positivity and building confidence. Each class is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We learn a routine for about 45 minutes and then we are divided into groups to perform before our peers so they can cheer us on. The studio also creates outside dance opportunities such as recitals and public performances to showcase before the public. I've been a member for 2 1/2 years. As a founding member of this studio, my membership fee is $79/month for unlimited classes at multiple locations. read more

I would suggest that if you want to come here, just sign up for individual classes and not the membership!! It sucks that I have to leave this review because I really did enjoy the classes here and the energy while dancing. Unfortunately there have just been too many issues with this place to justify continuing my membership. I signed up for the 6 month membership to try it out partially because after your first class they have an employee pull you aside and try to convince you to sign up for the membership, which I understand from a business sense, but it's awkward and uncomfortable if you are someone who does not want a membership. Apparently the membership auto renews once it's over and you have to give them 2 weeks notice before the next billing if you want to cancel, which no one tells you when you sign up. Be sure to read their terms and conditions! They told me upon signing up that if you cancel within 12 hours of the class you signed up for, you will be charged a late fee which is completely fair, however they also told me that if there was an emergency or illness that they would waive the fee. Well I did have a medical emergency and had to cancel late and at my next class I asked them if they would waive the fee. They told me no and that I needed to let them know at least 12 hours in advance which is the same rule they already have for cancelling. This is very unfortunate because you don't always have 12 hours notice of when you're going to get sick or have any sort of emergency. The next issue I had was pertaining to the 10 day free passes they offer every once in a while to members. I signed up my friend for the free pass and brought her to class with me. Halfway through the class while they were in the middle of teaching the routine, one of the employees pulled my friend off the dance floor and asked her to pay up for the class. I was very confused and left the dance floor to help my friend out. They said that because she had taken a class from them before that she was not eligible for the 10 day free pass. I was not made aware of this rule at all! When I had called earlier that day to sign her up, there was no problem. They didn't realize until the middle of the class that she had been there before for 1 class. This to me was extremely off putting and unprofessional and resulted in my friend never wanting to come back because she felt so uncomfortable. I believe this may have been the last if not one of the last classes I attended because I too was very put off by it. They were the ones who made the mistake. I think they should have waived the fee for that class and just said that she would be unable to use the rest of the 10 day pass, which would be very reasonable, or at the very least wait until the class was over to ask us for money since this ordeal resulted in us missing and not being able to learn the next section of the dance routine. Overall the quality of the dances and classes is good and I enjoyed most of my classes, but I just couldn't get over how this place just feels money hungry. Of course a business should be focused on being profitable, but not to the extent that it ruins the customer experience. I met some great people here and the instructors are truly great at what they do but overall the business practices just felt shady and money hungry. Another review mentioned cliques which I agree with, but that's just the nature of the instructors spending more time with people who come to more of the events, although it is uncomfortable as well. read more

I heard about DivaDance through Yelp, and I instantly thought let's try this out. Recently I've enjoyed the string of health/wellness events that focus on working on the body instead of eating my body weight in food. So I was thrilled when I got the invite to try this out. DivaDance is a multi-location dance class that challenges your inner sexy. They are located in New York, Austin, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and HotLanta. The Atlanta location is ran by the lovely Monica. Ms. Monica was easy to book with and easy to converse with. I did a quick text and she put me down on the schedule. Ms. Monica uses a dance studio in the Sandy Springs area. The dance studio has a cute homey feel. Nothing sexy like the dance moves but a great space. When it was time to start the class... the lights were turned off and the ambience purple lights were flipped on. *Class: My Goodies *Time: 8:00 pm My Goodies is a fast paced song that got my heart pumping. A young lady from the New York location actually taught this class and she did a good job pepping people up... like myself up. Initially we warmed up to a mashup of chart topping music then we moved into learning the dance. In a hour we learned an entirely new routine. After we learned the routine we split into groups and went for it. I almost fell out of my skin when we were split up, but the women in the class cheered us on and we went for it. After class we cooled down and were given a nice "Cupcake" beverage. Pretty exciting ending! Overall this class deserves an A. The instructors are nice, the members are welcoming, non judgmental, and pretty cool switch up to your normal workout. I would definitely recommend the class if you want to step outside of your comfort zone or if you would like to brush up on some of the newest twerks, pops, and locks! I had so much fun breaking a sweat...I have been looking for dance classes for a while and just gave up on the fact that I might not find any great ones in the area.. much to my surprise , I was wrong....i am so happy we have such a great dance studio so close with AMAZING CLASSES.... tonight I choose to go to the outkast themed event... the music an choreography was on point sexy, fun and not too challenging... I definitely plan on attending as many classes as I can there ...i broke a nice sweat and learned some new sexy moves... loved the various themed classes they had to offer...like Cardi B, Beyonce... What I really liked was welcomed with a smile....definitely going to do a girls night out here in the near future read more

Every month it's like a $400 special performance or trip and they press folks about joining. We cant always afford it and they are rude when people say no. Instructors laugh and keke with those who do the extra activities but not the people who wont pay up. The community is really a clique. period. I heard about this place through yelp after getting an email for an elite perk. I signed up for the Nicki Minaj "Good Form" class. It was my first time taking a dance class and it was a pretty cool experience! The dance studio was spacious enough and the instructor was friendly. There were only two other students with me, so for a beginner like myself, it was quite awkward. I also thought the instructor was good at breaking down the moves to make it understandable, but felt like she was moving on too fast (but that's probably because the other girls were good and not struggling like myself lol). But I enjoyed her enthusiasm and energy. Overall, I enjoyed the new experience and it'd be fun to go with a group of girlfriends! read more
