I found this via google search. One of the highest rate restaurants in the area. There are so many high prices targeting tourists type restaurants in the area. I didn't want to go to a tourist trap type place but wanted to try fancy restaurant while in the area. Thank you google for all the reviews. This place was amazing. Service, food and ambiance, everything was just perfect. Owner was a chef and he know what he is doing. He used to work in New York but had to come back for his family, so he said. Since we had some particular needs, he was happy to customize our order at no extra cost. Dinner for two was about 1000 TRY. A lot more than we've been paying in other cities but considering locations and food, I thought it was reasonable.

Baklava

This place is great! If you want Turkish food as a tourist I suggest this place. We got the hummus and spicy tomato paste which was very tasty with the bread. The bread was a bit too thick for the spreads (that is my only complaint about this place). The İskender Kebab is amazing however! It was spiced perfectly and I think the bread pieces added to the dish. At the end of the meal they gave us a free piece of baklava. The baklava wasn't the best- it didn't taste as good as what the baklava shops in the area offered but it was nice of them to give this to us regardless. Overall, this was a great place to eat at.

Best clay pot in Istanbul. Service is friendly in this family style restaurant. Great food, great people. I always come back.

Avocado wrapped in smoked salmon

Super friendly service, excellent chief, very knowledgeable about their preps. The seafood plate was the best with 3 types of fish, calamari and shrimp. Big enough for 2. The octopus with fire veggies had great flavor and super delicious. The appetizer salmon, mussels and Katmer and Lava cake was delicious.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you so much to Joseph for making this experience even better.

Develop as was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at as the best chef in the Fatiah area. We went to Divella's twice and have really enjoyed both times. Everything is prepared to order and tastes so fresh at this family business. We particularly loved the complimentary bread with olive tapenade and olive oil. I've never had anything quite like it. But also impressive was the host & servers attention and care making us feel we were the only ones there. The chicken with mushrooms was tender & sauce delicious and we all enjoyed both the chef and the Greek salads. Salad dressing was clearly not from a bottle and was good enough to eat with a spoon! Also loved the comfortable and charming bistro atmosphere. In an area filled with lots of great restaurants Divella's Bustro stands out as a winner on every level.

Amazing food and service!

Ordered mix grill and pasta. Both dishes are amazing. Would visit the restaurant again!

I have been in the restaurant industry for 21 years. I am a hard one to please! Let me say the food was delicious. Definitely made with love. The owners were fantastic and friendly. They sat down and talked to us. I especially appreciate that they were not extremely pushy like the other places. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try!!!! We will definitely be coming back before our trip is over.

amazing food best service we were with my husband we really enjoyed to much highly recommended to everyone

Divella special

I had dinner last night at Divella. It was recommended by my hotel. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the nice evening weather. The host Veysel (don't know if I spelled correctly) was super gracious and made great recommendations. I had the lamb casserole (Divella special), new flavors I haven't had before but very tasty and hardy. Comes in a flaming dish, great presentation. Kept the food warm when I went in for seconds. The potatoes that came with my dish were crispy and perfect. I ordered the Katmer for dessert and would totally order again! I'm definitely coming back!

For two people we ordered the seafood plate and halloumi salad, and it was more than enough, especially with the complementary bread and dip.

When I arrived there was only one other customer inside. The restaurant decor was cute and I very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This spot was a bit pricey just like most of the restaurants in this touristy area. I had certain Turkish entrees i wanted to try during my vacation. I ordered the Iskender kebab which is beef and pita bread covered with tomato sauce with yogurt on the side. I ordered a side salad to go with it. The dish was very delicious as you can tell in one of my pics. I chatted with some of the staff about life in Istanbul. I was offered some complimentary pomegranate tea before I left and it hit the spot. This is definitely a place to check out when you're in the area.

I had some of THEE BEST chicken kebab I've ever had in this country here. The beef kebab was also tender and flavorful. You cannot go wrong with any of these! The service was quick and prompt, and the servers were great at making recommendations. I came here in the winter so we sat indoors which felt a bit cramped however, there is also outdoor seating during the nicer weather months. If I'm ever back here in Istanbul, I would definitely come back. And if you're reading this, you NEED to try the Old Ottoman!

I highly recommend the chicken kabobs, juicy and well seasoned. Also enjoyed the margaritas, stiff and not overly sweet. Staff is pleasant and attentive. The views are unmatched in the evening. Make your reservation in advance to secure your sunset table. The inside is nice and classy but I simply adore the open air views from the roof. The birds really set off the skyline and you can see several of the mosques around. Not SUPER expensive but it is in the higher end price wise compared to their surrounding competition -- 100% worth it in my book. I will definitely go again on my next visit. Glad I could introduce it to a friend this go round. The only thing I disliked about this place is the "dining dome" as I called it. A portion of the roof now offers seating in a large plastic dome. The dome is scratched up and obstructs the view of the city but does protect diners from the wind. I was not a fan of this dome. I'm sure it's something someone saw on the internet and implemented .. I hope they get rid of it, it's super unnecessary. Otherwise -- LOVE!

After two days having some great meals in Istanbul of that type, we looked for something different. Not far from Galata Tower, GK is on a side street with little foot traffic. It has a big modern sign back off the street and one of the operators saw us hesitating where to enter and waved us in from the front entrance. Inside it has whimsical and funny decorations and serious books mounted on the wall, but is not atmospheric, more like a diner. BUT the food is displayed in a case, hot and cold entrees separated, so you can see what you are ordering. You pick what you want and they assemble your choices on a plate and bring it to the table. Hot entrees included chicken bites in a tomato sauce and chicken with onions, lamb stew and beef and plenty of salad and vegetable choices in the cold display case. The group of men running the place that night were low key but personable, answering our questions about food items and Turkish literature. Service was prompt but understated and helpful. Our group of four had a great time and the menu is diverse enough that everyone found choices that pleased them. But remember, we came in expecting something very good other than doner kebap and were not disappointed!
