Even if it hadn't been a hot and humid July day, I'm convinced the warm welcome I received would have been exactly the same. We need more places like Downtown Coffee and Cream in our world. They've found their niche: genuine hospitality served with a side of coffee and cream. My first visit was in the afternoon, where I enjoyed a scoop of "This Just Got Serious" ice cream and a strawberry smoothie. I came back the next morning for an Americano and a cinnamon swirl bagel. Just as before, the staff was smiling, engaging, and serving quality with every order. I honestly don't think I'll ever find myself back in Onawa, but I feel like a small piece of Onawa will always stay with me because of this place. Thank you for making a traveler feel at home.

Nestled in Downtown Woodbine it has the feel of a local small town Pub. I arrived on a Wednesday evening after opening, and before long there were six of us in the bar seats, talking Royals baseball and college football, while the bar keep was getting a new recipe for killer Bloody Marys from a patron. I had a flight of their beers, their IPA, Oktoberfest, Spiced Pumpkin and their Porter. The Porter and IPA were both above average, the Porter was actually very good! I did notice they served spent grain pizzas, but they didn't look like they needed trying. Even though I was not from the neighborhood I was welcomed as another guest, all bidding me a farewell as I left. Nice BrewPub!
