This place is phenomenal…read more I am so emotional after my business meeting there today that I almost can't take it. My grandmother didn't have that much dementia, but the place where we "placed" her was not nearly as wonderful as this Emeritus location. I think she would have been a great candidate for one of their "wings" - if only she had lived here and not in Rome, maybe we could have had her there. Here's the deal - Emeritus has 11 metro-Atlanta facilities, four that are dementia-specific, so to speak, and over 400 locations nationwide. From meeting with one of the key folks today, and meeting other staff and directors, it is clear that they are committed to the very best in patient care and treatment. Each resident has a nameplate on the door, and a photo/collage type thing next to their door with whatever they feel portrays them best- family pics, notes, etc. Even better, the four "sections" of the facility are decorated like....things that make you happy! My favorite was the "beach" themed room- and the hair salon! In one corner of a wing, they even have an old-fashioned mirror/dressing table and vintage dresses next to it. Wow. Beyond the aesthetics, it was clear that the staff really cares, and that anyone whom I love would be well tended to at this place...I witnessed staffers calling everyone they saw by name, carefully tending to the sofas in the lounge area, checking on people in their rooms or in the common dining area or group activity area. Really, it was - overwhelming. Bob Carr and staff do an incredible job, it seems - if I get totally *out there* one day, for whatever reason, this is the kind of place I would want to be.

My wife started being affected severely by vascular dementia in 2013, after 3 years of moderate impairment. Since then, up until she passed from this life on Thanksgiving night, a few months ago, I did the best I could for her 24/7/365. About twelve days before Thanksgiving, it became very apparent to me that she needed in-home hospice care. Without going into detail, I was very reluctant to turn over her care to "strangers", but the wonderful nurses and aides quickly became family to both of us. That she passed peacefully with dignity is a tribute to their caring, skill, and love. Yes, love. I will ever be grateful for every member of this wonderful company. They were truly a gift from God!

Did not receive any support and the ONE and ONLY nurse, Jordan, accused us of overmedicating, trying to keep our grandmother sedated then lied saying she never said it. She made us feel like we were making up the symptoms of our 95 year old grandmothers agitation, and refused to help us find medication that worked with her. When we called a reported the behavior, we were told that if we didn't want Jordan as our nurse we would have to find a new hospice company. We gladly did. DO NOT ISE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE AWFUL!

She passed away in August, 2022. Olive Branch was supposed to examine her weekly by an RN; and they were supposed to clean her and bathe her several times a week by CNA's. They also provided a hospital bed, a wheel chair, a Hoyer lift and consumable supplies like diapers, wipes, etc. I don't believe they bathed her more than once a month (if that); they specialize in 'drive by' nursing exams. My daughter is an RN and she would visit Mom 3-4 times per week and would have to clean Mom herself. Once Hospice gets involved, the Assisted Living people back off on some of their services so the net effect of bringing in Hospice resulted in less care. They are supposed to take of prescribing and supplying any required drugs. They told us that Medicare would only reimburse them for a portion of the monthly charges. So we would pay approximately 75% of the monthly costs and they were supposed to pay the difference. I believe they actually paid their portion once and no more, despite my calling them several times. The pharmacy they use is now upset at me for Olive Branch's lack of payment. Assisted Living charges are not covered by Medicare and they're expensive. Hospice however is fully covered by Medicare and in fact cost quite a bit more than Assisted Living. I'm personally aware of someone who used another hospice which came into their home and they were delighted with the service. It wasn't this one.

I have given them multiple chances to redeem themselves but they failed so I will write this…read morereview. My take on Hospice. We did both in home and inpatient. The caregivers inpatient were overall amazing. Its the promises they made to entice you to bring your loved one there..... and then fail and fail again that you need to know about. Hospice is pretty much no care other than cleaning. What we really thought we would get was professional counseling. We were promised counseling for our mother who was losing her husband of 70+ years, for their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.... Nothing like we were promised. We were told after he passed they would reach out and support us and her the next week and never heard from them. I called and asked... no call back. I called again... finally someone said they thought we lived on the opposite side of town ????? They even made an appt with our mother before christmas, having me leave work to be there and then stood her up. So, remember all the bells and whistles arent going to be there. The staff at the facility was great... just the sales pitch and delivery was way apart. Still waiting for them to fulfill their promises but, they got their money and moved on. I was offended when i received a solicitation not once but twice to donate money to their foundation.... the literature even mentioning how they offer bereavement support. They offer but they just dont deliver.

They went out of their way to make sure she always had her medications to keep her comfortable - including one time when a nurse drove back and forth to obtain a signature from a doctor for a new script. She wanted my Mom to be comfortable over the weekend and was determined to make sure she had it as soon as possible. The delivery driver, Micheal, always called before he delivered equipment and was extremely kind with Mom. Our nurse, Asiyah, was a dream. My Mom had the utmost respect for her because she was so compassionate as well as a great listener. I adored her because she was readily available by text, called me often, listened, and genuinely loved Mom. Mom had visits from sweet Caroline - who referred to Mom as Mama as she tenderly helped her shower, or give her foot rubs, or even just watch Judge shows. The music therapist, Anna, was such a calming presence. She has the voice of an angel and has a repertoire of songs to pull from - she even sung some songs in Spanish to Mom. Everyone we met was so kind and patient - the chaplain, other nurses, social workers... and were all available via text - it felt so personal. Even after Mom died, the texts and phone calls kept coming in to check on me, offer grief support for the children, and to share their love of Mom. My only feedback would be to work on the response time with the toll-free number - it could be more efficient. However, I am so grateful that everyone gave us their cell numbers and were available via text or call when I needed them. I highly recommend Seasons.
