I read great reviews about Cal so I called him. After asking him questions about my landscape project for about a minute, he hung up the phone on me. Thinking that it was a mistake, I tried calling him back, only to have him angrily say, "stop calling me." No explanation. No reason. He just kinda snapped. I don't know what happened between his last review in 2017 and now, but it must have been something bad. Regardless of what happened, I hope he doesn't keep losing jobs over his temper. I'm still trying to figure out what I could have said that could have frustrated him so much. The questions that I asked were: "How are you?" "When's your earliest availability?" "Do you do masonry yourself or can you contract it out?" "Can you help make a desert-friendly garden?" "How would we work together? What's a consultation like?" Cal did a great job identifying the fix for my home's 8 year old sprinkler system. He was very personable, kept in touch regarding time estimates for parts, and had a fee that was fair and affordable. It's also worth noting he kept COVID safety in mind while on-site. I called Divine Landscape this evening when I discovered a substantial leak in one of my valves. I was hoping for a call at least before the weekend. My regular gardener told me he couldn't come until next Wednesday. I was certain my water bill would be outrageous by then. Not only did Cal call me back 10 minutes later at 7pm, he came over after a job at 9pm because he knew I was worried about the amount of water flowing. He then proceeded to fix two other small leaks as well, and charged me a ridiculously low amount. I gave him more. The peace of mind was WELL worth it! That gardener who couldn't come until next Wednesday? He now has more time on his hands because I liked Divine so much that he is now going to do my regular maintenance! Cayetano did a great job on my backyard. He was new to me when I moved into Oxnard. I asked him to clean up the brushes and overgrown plants in my recently purchased home. Cal was great. Fast appointment. No waiting a week! I just bought a home with an older system that I couldn't decipher. He recommend a newer system that I can run from my phone! Awesome in today's technology driven world. While testing the system It was discovered I had a broken pipe and water bubbling everywhere. It's all fixed. Another great recommendation from Yelp! We just moved into our home and needed automatic timers and an irrigation system for our front, side and backyard. Since our plants weren't getting watered, we wanted someone who could respond ASAP. Cal was knowledgeable, quick to respond, and very hard-working. I had a leak in my backyard sprinkler line. I have some replacement parts and some experience, so I dug out around the leak area, found a pipe break, and with some difficulty, fixed it. When I tested the line, it still leaked. I dug again, lower, and found there were several lines below, running in different directions, and the second leak was somewhere beneath them. This was going to need careful digging, and knowledge about how to solve the problem. I saw Devine Landscape on Yelp and gave them a call. Cal came, examined the area, and gave me a reasonable bid for fixing it, so I went with him. Watching Cal work made me feel I'd made the right decision. He made it look easy. He found the second leak and worked around the mass of sprinkler lines to fix the problem. Then he tested it and replaced the soil. We just listed our house and one little portion of our sprinklers wasn't turning on automatically any more. It was a very small job but we needed it done, and soon, because we are getting appraised in a week. I was worried the job would be too small to get any reliable and quality service done. I made a call to Divine Landscape and they responded to my call efficiently, professionally and personable. The knowledge of the landscape needs was very impressive and always made sure I understood what he was speaking about. My front garden was flooding after watering, there were high and lows in the lawn as well as garden and my neighbor had a broken sprinkler underground. He recognized the problem immediately and spoke with my neighbor to in list his cooperation in the resolution. His immediate resolution was to bring clean top soil to level the garden, change all of the sprinkler heads to maximize the watering of lawn and garden. He repaired the neighbors broken sprinkler to stop the damage to my garden and lawn. He always stayed professional and personable. He updates my sprinkler controls unit the I WiFi and took time to train me on the use as well as explain the system. Cal returned to check the system and everything is great!!
