Luckily a neighbor recommended Shelton Academy. The program is excellent. Times are from 9 am - 4 pm (with before and after care available ) Lunch is included. She loves it! She has done it all this summer, swimm in their state of the art pool, gymnastics, tumbling and cheereleding in their huge padded gym, Art, arts and crafts, Spanish, and her favorite Theater! There are tons more programs available, for all children's interests. The best part is that every week she can pick a different activity. This past week she insisted on staying after school and she loves it! I have to say that this is the best summer camp she has ever been to and we will be back next summer!

The school has a strong academic and religious program that truly reflects its Catholic values. The campus is modern, safe, and well-maintained, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Plus, their afterschool program is one of the best we've seen--well-organized, engaging, and a huge help for working parents. I highly recommend Shelton Academy to any family looking for a Catholic school in Miami, from PK all the way through high school

Administration were apathetic and consolers guided me poorly when I asked for better option due to disability - the heck they gonna know - standardize testing gets priority. Students were pretty terrible to each other and I only went out of obligation, I learned literally nothing and couldn't get through college because of teacher protest and general mediocrity. - I'm trying again a decade later. This school has a semi decent special Ed department and classical arts. But Miami-dade Public school as a whole is a sham. Never enough money in the budget because some clown in Tallahassee resigned with the money in their pocket. No proper precautions were taken in regards to bullying, none of the students spoke English, school lunches were very cheap and poor quality, and expensive during my youth. Can't imagine now! Teacher are not paid enough and force to teach around standardize testing of their passionate enough to teach. Creativity and innovation is sucked out of teenagers who are given adult responsibilities with children limitations. "Didn't pass standardized testing because your have learning disability and bad teachers" Take two math classes instead of home ec for a WHOLE year!!" Home school your older teenager or send them to magnet/charter school that will teach them the core things of what they actually want to learn and be career wise. nothing practical or is taught here and your teen's special talent will never be explored- AND is not centered around standardized testing. Or get a GED and go to community college, they're trash in their own right as well, but it's a better learning experience than the mediocrity that is this institution.
