I would begin by saying that my experience at this school was the most pleasant I have ever had. It was a pleasure to be a student at Doral Park High School--and a pleasure to be able to say that I graduated from a school that offers more student support than any other I have ever encountered. From day one, they explained everything to me and thoroughly introduced me to every aspect of the school; they were sincere and helped me not only to graduate but also to pave my way toward college. Thanks to the school, I learned more about the opportunities available to me--and how to take advantage of them. Speaking of the community, it could not have been any more pleasant than it was. Everyone is very open to new opportunities and assists you with the utmost kindness in whatever you need; they do everything in their power to help you. It truly was a wonderful and welcoming community. As for the classrooms, I have nothing but praise: they are spacious, beautifully decorated, and provide an environment where you feel comfortable--both with the people around you and with the physical space itself. My name is Diego Diaz, and I came from Coral Park. I started at Doral Park in September and graduated in February. When I first got here, I was really shy and mostly kept to myself. I didn't talk much and honestly just tried to stay quiet. But as time went on, things started to change. Mr. Martinez helped me a lot with my classes, and little by little we built a really good relationship. He pushed me to do better and was always there when I needed help. I'm really thankful for that because it made a big difference for me. I also want to thank all the staff at Doral Park for making this year such a good experience. Everyone played a part in making the school feel welcoming and supportive. I really liked the program because I prefer working independently. I feel like when I work on my own, I focus more and get things done faster. I also liked that we leave at 12 because it gave me more free time and helped me balance school with everything else in my life. My experience with the school is full of positives. When I first started here I knew absolutely no one and mid year I lost someone very close to me and because of that I stopped believing in myself and doing good in school. Mrs.Valdes and Mrs. Gonzalez are one of the best teachers I have ever met. Mrs. Valdes was my backbone this whole year, even up until today. She always believed in me and reminded me that I can always do better than I'd like to imagine. Mrs. Valdes took time out of her days to always help me out, either if its with school work or my mental health and always hearing me out. Ms. Valdes is my miss honey. Mrs.Gonzalez is one of the best teachers in doral park. I started senior year with 11 credits and a 1.29 gpa. Because of Ms. Gonzalez, I began to close 3-4 classes a month. I'm now graduating with 24 credits and a 2.7 gpa. Because of her help and assistance I've made it farther than I could've imagined. These 2 teachers helped me grow far past my expectations. I've had a really positive experience at my school. The staff here genuinely care about the students and go out of their way to create a supportive and welcoming environment. I feel safe on campus, both physically and emotionally, which makes it easier to focus on learning and growing. One thing that stands out the most is the mental health support. My overall experience with going to Doral Park High School was great. I came here with doubts of it being "boring" or just a "terrible experience", but now I come to say the opposite. The staff there were very welcoming, helping me with every step, like my road to graduation. My teacher there, Ms. Ley was a wonderful teacher. Anytime I needed help, she was there. She helped me understand and get the hang of everything at Doral Park. The schoolwork there was easy and helpful. My experience at Doral Park High School has been one of the best. This is my first school in the United States, and they have opened their doors to me. I have achieved many things thanks to them. Today, I graduate from this school and will be able to go to college. The teacher I interacted with the most was Ms. Bernal. She was my teacher throughout the entire year and was a huge support. She is a great teacher who motivates you to finish school without distractions. She has been an incredible help. Ms. Valdés has also been a huge support for all students. I had a really great experience at this school. It's a smaller program designed for accelerated learning, so most of the work is done on computers while still having a physical campus you can go to for support. That setup made it a lot easier for me to focus and move at my own pace. What really made the difference for me were the teachers. Mrs. Ley especially helped me get through a lot and always made sure I stayed on track. She genuinely cared and supported me when things got difficult.
