Germans have butchered the word curry there I've said it, well and truly butchered it. But my rating isn't based on my hate for this food or the germans calling it curry, its based on my experience here. I wont lie i've been to a couple of these places in Frankfurt and like the concept of the different heat levels and challenge of trying to go as hot as you can. I infact on my arrival in Germany refused to believe that Germans know what spicy food is (I still don't to be fair) and a fellow English person and I were taken here and told to order as hot as we can, we asked for the top rating of F (the scale works a-f, a being the mildest f being the hottest, past C you need to be above 18 and if you order f I believe you have to sign a waiver saying any death or injury isn't their fault... you also get a free chocolate milk) we were promptly informed they would only sell us D, we accepted thinking this will be easy, a few bites in and it wasn't bad, then the pain started, I got through half of my sausage, my mate ate all of his and threw up on the way back to the office. If you are partaking in this challenge I recommend getting the toilet roll in the freezer the night before, as the next 24 hours will put your body through some agony. But back to the Eschborn location, the queues are long, the food really isn't tasty even if you order an normally spiced version, you have to stand outside and eat. Also its really expensive for what is essentially sausage, ketchup and curry powder. I suggest walking a little bit further going to Bombay Curry for some really curry.

Got excited with all the varieties and opted for the most expensive one! Why not? Apparently the bun is an extra 0,30 Euro and toppings can include ketchup and/or mayo. The minced pork patty was flavorful and juicy. The bun was crispy and freshly baked! 3,40 Euro for a quick snack! There are also skinny counter ledges to eat while on the go!

I had had more than my fill of the beloved Currywurst by this point in my visit. Truth be told the cloying sweetness and profuse quantity of the ketchup that the Germans slather all over the sliced links manages to greatly overwhelm all of the combined tastes of the Brats and the curry powder. I went with the nicely spicy chili bratwurst, which I found to be an infinitely superior delivery method of heat to sausage imo, with the chili infused into the inner meat and thankfully the no ketchup played a part in the equation where the sausage was concerned. in addition to being delicious and obviously fresh and of high quality I did use ketchup, all though in the limited amount that is appropriate, not with the sausage, which were supplemented only by excellent mustard, nut as local practice dictates a generous amount of mayo, or at least its close german relative German. Germans take note: the ketchup is in much greater harmony combined with these elements rather than enveloping and overpowering your delicious tubed meats! America could do well to emulate Europe in a myriad of ways in terms of culture and lifestyle IMO, and the fact that a delicious fresh and high quality culinary experience can be had even within the context of a quick bite at the train station is a perfect illustration of this fact.
