We started with our planned itineraries and we had to make last minute changes prior to our trip. We are from California and I forgot about the time zone changes in both Arizona and Utah. Tiffin was very accommodating of our change requests and he also made recommendations based on his experiences. We chose the 4:30 tour that focuses on the underground tunnels. Scott is amazing! He does his research, and is very fun to be around. His tours take you to multiple locations around the downtown area with stories and engages with his clients. If he doesn't have an answer for a question, he makes it worth asking and says he would be happy to look into it instead of the traditional IDK answer. We would be happy to attend his other tours next time we are around flagstaff.

We bought tickets for the Flagstaff Underground tour on Groupon not really knowing what to expect…read more We are from Mesa, so we chose a weekend, booked a stay at Hotel Monte Vista & made an overnight trip out of it. At first, I was having some technical difficulties redeeming the Groupon online. However, I followed the merchant email instructions & sent a message letting the business know that I was struggling to book our tour. Scott emailed me back very quickly and assisted me with getting everything set up. We were given clear instructions on where to meet up before the tour. The tour group consisted of approximately 7 guests (including my husband and I) I am not going to add any spoilers here, because I recommend that anyone who is intrigued about some Wild West Flagstaff history should hear it straight from Scott's mouth. Scott is such an enthusiastic person who has immense passion for the history of his city. He made the tour so much fun! He clearly puts a great amount of effort into putting his tours together. He let us know that not every tour is the same, he switches them up to keep things from getting bland. The tour was 90 minutes long, we walked around downtown Flagstaff and received tons of information about the history of the area. As we hit a historic mark, Scott would share photos of what the specific spots looked like in the early 1900's, and even pointed out small details that the average passerby may not even notice. It was very cool! I also appreciated that the tour did not feel rushed. Scott allowed ample time for questions, and it was clear that he enjoyed having additional conversations with guests on the tour about each specific site. He was not in a hurry, he just thoroughly enjoys his job! The funny part is, when we saw other groups from other companies out on tours, the night before, the groups looked bored, the tour guides were barely talking.... It honestly made me nervous about our upcoming tour. Luckily for us, we made the right choice! My favorite part of the tour was catching a glimpse of Flagstaff's underground tunnels. I walked away from this tour feeling much more informed about Flagstaffs history, and honestly, I cannot wait to come back and do another tour with Scott. At the end, he mentioned that he will be hosting a paranormal investigation in the near future, and I cannot wait to attend!! If you haven't already booked a tour with Scott, you're missing out!! Clearly, the organization behind the trip was flawless. Each of the guides worked their butts off and deserve most of the credit for our experience. Their rafting skills were/are superb. They went way above and beyond all my expectations and their teamwork, harmony and camaraderie were was infectious and made our experience perfect. They treated us not as clients or customers, but as friends and family. Sincere thanks to them from the bottom of my heart. I will always have the fondest of memories of all of them and the GRAND Canyon. I have absolutely no regrets or complaints about this trip. I wish I had done this earlier in my life. Yes, there were challenges with wind, blowing sand, hot days and nights and some rain but nothing impossible to deal with. All the challenges were outweighed several times over by all the rewards of this experience.

The owners, Dave and Natalie, are highly experienced on group and adventure travel. From your first night in a hostel to 19 more nights (Alaska Salmon Run) at various levels of camping you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself in the wilds of Alaska. You will see many animals that you may never have thought to see in their own habitats behaving as they should. You will see amazing landscapes and have the chance to walk on a Glacier. The value for your money is excellent. That said there are some things you must bring to the venture. You need an open mind. This is a group experience and you will meet many different personalities - most from other countries. Some will be critical of you or difficult and some will be delightful. You need a strong will. The trip will challenge you physically while you adjust to temperature extremes and various hiking opportunities. You need to be flexible. The phrase "this is Alaska" covers all kinds of happenings around timing and resources. Dave and Natalie do their best but not every detail is under their control. You have to be willing to fully participate. Setting up and cleaning up campsites and meals are a group effort. Dave and Natalie work hard to accommodate diets. We are vegan and although some of our meals were uninspiring, we did not starve. The tents are spacious and easy to set up. There are plenty of camp chairs, dishes, and utensils. We recommend you bring a 2-3 inch (5-7.5cm) sleeping pad (REI has good ones), and a sleeping bag rated ro 30 degrees F (-1 degree C) as well as a camp pillow for comfort. A liner for your sleeping bag is a big help keeping you warm. You don't need lots of clothes - just layers. There are at least 3 places on the trip where you can do laundry. Finally remember the wilderness is not next door. There will be at least 4 long bumpy bus rides from one location to the next with a few shorter bumpy drives as well. You will often be surprised by animal sightings and amazing vistas for which Dave stops so you can take pictures. This was not a vacation, it was an adventure for us. If adventure is what you seek and you are willing to take advantage of the many opportunities that Dave and Natalie will provide, this is the travel company for you.
