I've used Groome twice to get to Sedona. My first trip in 2024 was a little awkward as the driver asked if he could come swim at my hotel ( hopefully this was one off). This time in September 2025 was much better my driver was John and was polite, safe and got us there relatively quickly with a short stop in chevron. On the way back to Phoenix I had another John who drives part time in retirement- he was great driver, nice communication, and it was a smooth trip. Overall a good experience. read more

Zero Refunds, Only Credits (Even Hours After Booking!) They do not give refunds, so keep that in mind before you hand over your card--because they definitely won't warn you upfront (at least in my case they didn't). If life happens and you have to cancel, you're stuck with a credit. But what if you don't travel often? What if you actually need your money back? They know that there are no other shuttles going up that way to Prescott so now charging $70 one way. The drivers are very good no problems with them, but I will not call groom again. I will find another way to get to Prescott because I cannot afford $70 every time. They're so greedy. This is a low end high volume service you're paying 50 dollars plus one way. If u have issue and confront them about a late driver they will gaslite you and then transfer u to dispatch if that doesn't work. No managers work on Fridays and if u have issue don't worry u can leave voicemail which is what they offered me. Like I said this is low end service charging a substantial amount without the service experience. U can tell by Rene response to these reviews. On October 3rd, I was traveling to attend the memorial service of a friend and nursing college the next day. I missed my flight and was left waiting at the Groome confirmed pick up location at the Hilton Resort at Bell Rock. I called the office to ask about the delay. A curt lady told me "the driver left because you were a No Show! You will miss your flight." I told her that I arrived early at the correct pickup site and assured her that the driver was the No Show. She checked and reported that the driver waited at the Sedona Golf Resort for me, and they don't wait long for No Shows. She assured me that they would not reschedule my shuttle later that day. Her supervisor did schedule a shuttle for that afternoon, but I lost 38,000 airline miles because I had to cancel and reschedule my trip within the 24 hour window of cancellations eligible for refund. I sent the above issues to Groome that week and again the following week. To date, I've received no response whatsoever from anyone. Are these mistakes and poor customer service due to an unorganized office or organization? It's unfortunate, because you have some very fine people working for you. I've taken the shuttle many times and my experience has always been very good! What I don't understand is that they don't enforce a mask policy. Forget about Covid, there's all kinds of other junk out there and at the height of the cold and flu season, it's not a good idea to pick up a dozen people who are coming into the airport from all over the country and seat them nearly on top of one another, in a sealed van, for 2+ hours, and not expect everybody in that van to get sick if there's just one sick person in there. I've never seen a driver wear a mask ever and I wonder how often they get sick or if they just have developed super immunity doing this for a living. Groome management - is there any chance you'd consider a mask policy? If not, year-round then at least when flu is surging like it is today? read more

If you are visiting elderly loved ones, rent a car. I exposed my husband to Covid and 3 months later, he has not recovered. This is an update to my previous review. On October 7th, I was sitting right in front of a woman who coughed every 5 minutes during Groome's 2 hour trip from Phoenix airport to Sedona. She mentioned to someone that she had been sick. Three days later, I woke up with my body aching and with a sore throat. I took a Covid test and it was POSITIVE for COVID I am 74 year old. I passed this to my husband who is 78. He has been sick with Covid and the after-effect ever since until this writing on December 16th. that is 3 months. I guess he has Long-Covid. The infection aggravated his slow prostrate situation, bringing his blood tests for platelets way high. Since then he has had swelling in his throat and knee, which lead to an acute blood clot. He is now on blood thinners. He previously went to the gym 5 days a week. Now, he relies on me to dress and undress him. I feel guilty because I took Groome Transportation which is a public transportation system for the poor and middle class. I should have rented a car and driven to Sedona, rather than expose my husband. I did not think about the danger of public transportation. Groome should provide masks and make some kind of announcement that masks are totally voluntary, but they can prevent you from getting sick or passing sickness to others. It can be a friendly announcement that just says "If you are coughing, our passengers would feel more comfortable if you wore a mask. We provide them for free if you want one." Of course, this is not Groome's fault, but they could make some kind of announcement, just like they do for seat belts. And they could provide masks for free to anyone who forgot theirs and now wants one. Remember-- Covid is not "over" -- it is still out there. read more

This is just my observation after dropping my wife off in Cottonwood to take a shuttle to Phoenix to go visit her ailing father this morning at 3:30 a.m. This is the second time that I've dropped her off --the first time the driver was waiting for her, greeted her warmly took her bag placed it in the van, and then my wife sat in the running van. This morning was quite a different story. We arrived at approximately 3:26 in the morning, and the female driver was standing outside. She said you must be Suzanne and then remarked "boy that's a big bag." My wife was visibly embarrassed when she said this and she defensively said "well I am going for a week" to which the driver replied "are you sure you're not going for a month"? The size of my wife's bag is none of the drivers business and to be so openly and unabashedly rude and not have the self-awareness to know you're out of line is beyond explanation--doesn't Groom train their drivers in common courtesy? I was going to send a letter to the general manager, but my wife insisted that a review would be sufficient so she is going to review her entire trip with this person at the helm and I'm just gonna review what I overhead her say to my wife. Additionally, I heard she left my wife waiting outside in the cold as she sat inside the office. Whoever hired this person needs to be evaluated. read more

I decided to take it since the cheaper option (Flixbus) had even worse reviews, and the more expensive options (personal drivers, etc.) were twice the price. Listed phone number is not in service and changes cannot be made through their website. Essentially it it impossible to change your reservation if your flight is delayed. They have experienced a major surge in customers lately and shuttles are usually full. Money is coming in, yet they can't seem to pay their phone bill or take care of their customers, showing that profit takes priority over customers. read more

My driver John from IL was great 5/5 stars. He was safe,friendly, efficient in pick ups and got us to the airport 10 minutes early. My reason for the 4/5 stars was the reservation. I had to call 3 times to correct my reservation. They kept getting it wrong. When I did show up they didn't have me on the manifest. I think it could be that the dispatch is also making reservationists. Not a great system for accuracy in my case. Have the calls go to a call center where the agent has complete attention to my reservation and are not getting interrupted by dispatching duties. read more

If I were to give my rating based on the driver it would have been a 5 star as he truly did a good job probably the best in over 25 years of taking the shuttle. However the new system is not serving anyone. All passengers were confused as to were the meet point was. While I received a text that said clicking on the link would provide information regarding my reservation and the location of my shuttle. Clicking on the link only listed reservation information and NO information on shuttle location. Groome did away with the onsite Shuttle coordinator and if they are going to do that they need to step up and provide the information to passengers in some other format. Text, email, automated phone call. But they have not found a way to replace the support provided by the onsite shuttle coordinator. I witnessed more than a dozen passengers who went to the south side of sky harbor instead of the north side. Shame on Groome. Several passengers missed their shuttles by mere minutes due to this confusion. Get it together. Calling Groome proves difficult also with their automated system. Improve it. It needs to be made more simple and louder. Passengers are in an area where hearing a phone call is difficult at best Get it together Groome!! I think yesterday ended with a lot of passengers deciding to switch back to Ace Shuttle, I never thought I'd hear those words. Missing Arizona Shuttle. read more

Long term customers we got an airport round trip for our daughter. For the return back to airport the pick up was nearly seven hours before flight time. At the time of ordering was told not to worry as they would adjust the time to be more reasonable the night before for home pick up. They had done this in the past. In the end the pick up time was changed to 0635 some six hours + before flight time. Efforts to improve this with supervisor Alissa were unsuccessful. If they were going to schedule super early arrivals this should have been disclosed up front so we could have explored other options to include other carriers. Hope we don't get a canned response (e.g. excuses) from the owner like was done all through out this review forum. read more

This was our first time using the shuttle. We had flight delays and changes due to storms and they were available via phone to talk about rescheduling in a helpful and friendly manner. The shuttle was on time and the ride was comfortable. The schedule is a little limited for outlaying areas (we went from Sedona to PHX airport) so plan ahead. read more

We took a ride on the "Enchantment Express" (Phoenix airport to Enchantment Resort) The good: The drivers were safe and showed up on time. The drivers are very kind and friendly (minus the lady w/ black cap) The bad: -If your flight arrives at a time that's not near their pick up schedule, it might be a long wait for you at the airport, but you will know this ahead of time by looking at the schedule. -If you are an Enchantment guest: here's the deal. Despite the words "Enchantment Express" this does not mean you will be picked up at Phoenix Airport and taken nonstop directly to Enchantment Resort. It means you will be picked up at the scheduled time, crammed into a tight shuttle with a ton of people. You will stop at a gas station meeting point after a couple hours where your luggage will be taken out and you will transfer to another shuttle and then arrive at Enchantment resort. For me, the word express shouldn't be used and is misleading. -The Ugly: From Phoenix airport, since we were Enchantment guests, the driver told us that we would be handing off our suitcases last which means you are getting on the shuttle last. This ends up being a big deal because you then are left with the seats in the very back row where the seating is UNBEARABLE. Your knees will be crammed against the seat in front of you (I'm only 5'5") and the seats themselves are VERY narrow. On the way out there was one empty seat in the row of four in the back, so while it was tight, at least my husband and I sat together and had room for our shoulders to lay back. However on the way from Enchantment resort on the leg back to Phoenix...surprise. At the gas station stopping point where we had to transfer to the new shuttle, we were AGAIN LAST to choose our seats. This time we got to cram 4 people in the back row which is UNACCEPTABLE. My thin 5'9" husband was back there with 2 small sized women and another average male. He couldn't lay his shoulders all the way back against the seat back because, there was NO ROOM. He sat back there for 2 plus hours with both sides of his body, arms and legs flush against the people on both sides of him. There is no way to cross your legs, move your feet, or shift around etc. IT WAS HORRIBLE. I sat in a middle mini jump seat which was a little better, but this seat would never fit an overweight person. I find it interesting that the only fair that forces you to pay gratuity ahead of time is the Enchantment Express. We would have chosen to tip the drivers from the gas station to Enchantment leg (which we did on one leg in addition to the pay ahead tip), but not the unbearable leg to the airport. Our total fare was $304.00 which didn't feel like a bargain when you are riding so uncomfortable for so long. I'd rather pay more and be picked up right after your flight arrives and go with no transfers. Also know that if you are an Enchantment guest you will end up forced to enter the shuttle LAST every time, which seems unfair. Hopefully this can help someone. If their schedule matches well to your flights and you ask ahead of time if the shuttle will be crammed with people, it could potentially be OK for you. read more
