So, I was having extended work stay in Glendive and I ate here a few times. In fact twice during…read morethe week. Maybe a Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on a Friday. The Tuesday I got a hamburger and fries. Service was great, food came out fast and hot. It was really good. The Wednesday I ate at the bar section. I got a chicken sandwich with fries. That was pretty good too. Chicken was a little dry, but not like eating a cracker. Service was excellent both days. I ate here on a Friday at around 6pm. I took a seat, it's basically first come first serve. I sat in the dining area. I waited maybe 5 minutes for the waitress and she gave me my menu. I knew what I was going to eat, so I ordered a beer and water. Waitress came back and I placed my order. I got a 12oz sirloin with mixed vegetables. I also got the soup of the day, clam chowder. I thought clam chowder in Montana, this might be risky. Haha. Got my beer then clam chowder. It turned out ok. Then I proceeded to wait ~40 minutes to get my dinner. I almost left. I would have paid for the beer and chowder. I could hear a lot of chatter out of the kitchen and not good chatter. The kitchen was backing up and food was delayed. The kitchen was out of order. I felt bad for the waitress cause she was running all over the place. It wasn't her fault. When I went there during the week, the food was served in 10-15 minutes tops. Friday it was 40 minutes. Service was good. I did notice and hear some complaints amongst other guests. I remained cool, even though it had been a long two weeks. I did tip well cause I know the waitress was completely overwhelmed. My one option to this place is to hire a busboy to clean the plates up instead of the waitress doing it.

I read a couple of yelp reviews that made it seem like a good restaurant, despite the rundown…read morecondition of the building. In fact, it was just awful -- no other way to describe it. The salad was not fresh - iceberg lettuce that we had to pick through. We ordered chicken fried chicken. It was dry. The mashed potatoes tasted better with lots of salt & pepper. The gravy was inedible. We were happy we had requested it be on the side. Each of us ate less than half our food. Our waitress was very nice. We appreciated the good service.

Asked for lemon with water. I was offered squeeze lemon in a bottle. Yuck…read more Asked for bbq sauce with fries, they didn't have any. I've never had a restaurant with fries not have bbq sauce. I've traveled extensively. Asked for Honey Mustard with my steak fingers, seeing as they didn't have bbq. Was charged 50 cents for a tablespoon of dressing. Asked for a metal fork with my food. Was reluctantly given one, was told I was "lucky" they had them. It was flimsy and given to me in a rude manner. Upon asking for my bill was told I had to pay at the counter. Which is fine. But no one told me I had to do that. Then I get up there, there is a sign that their software doesn't print out a receipt with a line for a tip. I had to tell them in advance what I wanted to tip. And no itemized receipt possible. I tipped 20%. I always do. I will in the future patronize the other diners in town. If I have my way, I'll never cross the threshold of Airport Inn again. The other diners in town a) have better food; b) for better prices; c) don't charge extra for a tablespoon of sauce; d) have actual lemons upon request for water, not squeeze lemon (ick); e) bring the bill to the table; f) offer bbq sauce with fries; g) have actual silverware from the start; h) more polite staff. I get that the restaurant is a local institution but I found it unfriendly, nearly hostile, oh and they don't have a website. And an ancient register system. Get into the 21st century please.

Okay food, but the portions are pretty small. Loved the decor of the place and the service was…read morefriendly!
