On 4/3/21, my husband and I had our beautiful wedding at Stonebriar County Club.  Blake was our…read moreflorist and day of coordinator.  He kept us informed of upcoming deadlines and was always very creative and flexible with our ideas.  In the beginning, I had (too) many ideas of what I liked although I knew which flowers I wanted.  We met a couple times (Zoom) leading up to the wedding to discuss bouquets, table arrangements, and décor and each time he was timely and helpful.  I was able to show him pictures I had found and he was able to turn my inspiration into reality because he is so passionate about his job.  Also, we decided to make floral changes after the bridal portraits bouquet was made because some flowers just weren't white enough for our ginger jar theme.  Blake was very understandable and send a new vision board to us.  We decided a month or so before our wedding we'd also have Blake do the day-of coordinating; it was no problem to add that on later.  A week before the wedding, my (now) husband met with Blake to provide all of our ginger jars for the center pieces.  Unbeknownst to me, my husband was also handing over a very sentimental scarf that he had requested to be included in my bouquet.  On the day of our wedding, Blake arrived at our venue early with TJ and team to ensemble the areas of the country club.  Upon its reveal to us, everything looked exactly how we envisioned!  Blake and team checked on my husband and I throughout the night to ensure we were fed, quenched, and happy.  At the end of the night, we ended up having the BEST time with Blake after everyone had left and we were sneaking off in our get-away car.  Blake had packed up the car with my veil, hangers, gifts, sign in globe, and even a box of leftover to take back to our hotel!  We've stayed in contact with Blake after our wedding and actually attended HIS wedding as guests.  Blake is a professional and sweetheart that we are so thankful we had on our wedding day.

We based the decision off of the quality of the…read morewebsite, etc. We made the assumption that with their website being as pleasant as it was, and with the photos from the events they'd planned being quite aesthetically pleasing, that their office where elopements are held would also be similarly nice. Unfortunately, we were wrong to make that assumption. So this review really only pertains to their in-office elopements, as I can't speak to the rest of their services. Getting in touch with the owner, Blake, was relatively easy, at first. It was easy to pay online, and he thoughtfully sent us a questionnaire, which was simple and painless to fill out. But after this, at times it was a little difficult to get a response from him and/or the officiator he assigned us regarding our wedding vows. Nothing major, but there was a span of a few days before we received a response in our last correspondence. But it ended up fine. Most of our disappointment was with the office. It was located in a dingy, old building that smelled musty and odd. It seemed like they rent at least two rooms for their business in this building, and both doors were open when we arrived - one was the room where elopements are held, the other I assume was their normal office. We saw Blake (the owner) sitting at a desk in the normal office, but he made no effort to step out and say hello, introduce himself or welcome us, etc. He didn't even wave. We never spoke in person. He looked our way and then turned back to his computer monitor. It was not very professional or kind. Our officiator (who was fine, no complaints there) promptly noticed our arrival and walked us to the elopement room next door. And this is where it got worse. Terrible, SUPER dim, yellow fluorescent lighting. Outdated (Green, I think?) carpet. That same musty smell. The archway we stood under looked pretty half-assedly constructed. We were debating hiring a photographer to come along and help us commemorate the moment, but now we're glad that we didn't - there was no helping that setting. We now wish that we'd asked to see a picture of the office first. I'd post one here but the pictures turned out so terrible that we deleted them all already. We kept a Polaroid that disguised the setting a little bit (with Polaroids not being super hi-res and all), but that's it. The short version of this - if you care about the setting of your elopement, DON'T DO IT HERE. I'm sure they might be wonderful at conventional wedding planning, but this was a total bummer. It's a good thing that we weren't crazy invested in a conventional wedding anyway, but we want to help another nontraditional couple avoid this unpleasantly surprising situation! We did receive our marriage certificate back insanely fast (a week), so they were very prompt about sending it out for us.

Donnie Brown, the man who was on WFAA Channel 8 News for creating a 2 million dollar wedding dress and currently has a full page ad in the most recent edition of Modern Luxury Weddings Dallas, has officially committed fraud with respect to our wedding. Our wedding was on Saturday, October 19th. Donnie did not provide nearly $10,000 worth of services, and the day after our wedding he had the nerve to charge our account almost $500 without our authorization. Meaning that he kept our payment information on file without our knowledge or authorization. His assistant at the time, Heather Bradford, took our payment information and did not properly secure our financial information allowing him to have free access to our account at any time. I texted and called her multiple times to give her a chance to tell her story. She will not respond. We are already refuting this and will be taking legal action against both of them, but please read on for the whole story. I documented each red flag as they occurred in order to keep an accurate timeline. Also, for the accusations provided below we either have hard proof in emails, text, phone logs and pictures or we have a witness to the event. I thought Donnie was difficult to deal with but would still deliver on his contractual obligations, not break his contract and steal money out of our account. If you want someone who is trustworthy and transparent, Donnie Brown is NOT who you want to deal with. Donnie will make you feel as if he is adding tremendous value when in reality he is really a con man. On several occasions he has lied to us but we had paid soooo much money already that I politely continued to deal with him to make sure that our wedding would still come together as envisioned. One of the hardest things to do is to continue to deal with someone who is swindling you out of money and you know it especially for such an important day- at the end of the day making my future wife happy was my top priority. After our reception and when we got home, I letHeather and Donnie know that we will be taking legal action for services not rendered. If it wasn't for our venue coordinator (TJ Land with the Room on Main), our wedding planner (Carol Hampton with The Date) and our florist (Michele Rochon), who all pulled together and each did work that was well beyond what we had compensated them for, to make up for Donnie's failures and ensure that our day was still incredible, it would've been a disaster. Also, because Donnie screwed up sooo badly, he is banned from doing any business in any of the venues associated with our venue. The day after our wedding he charged an additional $478 to our account without our authorization. Now he has committed fraud. We obviously have the reception well documented and the actual contract, so it is easy to see what contractual obligations he did not fulfill. We are already refuting our payments. If you have ever thought about doing business with Donnie Brown, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. And if you are already working with him, request an itemization of your bill. This is a man that has zero ethics, zero professionalism and is willing to even steal money from his clients.

Let's just say, 5 weeks before my wedding handed, they handed me a bill for almost 3 times my budget, but had been asking for my budget for my food and Decor for 5 plus months prior to this, my mom finally had to call the club and get pricing since Donnie, and his team would not. Nightmare from beginning to end, chose a venue in September based on .......we were told the grounds was going to be leveled so we could have the outdoor wedding we wanted. Wedding planners went MIA over November through Jan, then we finally did have our meeting in mid FEB, 2 and half months before me wedding date, was told at this meeting, that the flowers designer had quit ( the most important thing to me and was stated from beginning) and that the club , which was suppose to start construction in October and be finished in Jan, was not going to level the ground and never started construction. Donnie came to this meeting with no other solutions to the problem, and I was told that it is what it is......mind you, still no budget given to us even though we had already met with the club on all wedding details in October. It continues.....wanted cake balls in the shape of a wedding cake, like a tower of cake balls. Donnie's team recommended a cake vendor, I asked Donnie's team before my appt, if they were sure this vendor did the cake ball tower I wanted, was told yes, they do everything. Well....Got to the cake tasting and guess what, he didn't do cake ball cakes, and the vendor actually ended up helping us, he called around to find a vendor that met my needs. Never got to do a cake tasting because of this mix up. I have numerous unanswered emails that had to be followed up by texts or phone calls. I had to ask a million questions as the monthly itinerary that was given to me, was not be followed by Donnie's team. The communication was minimal and the information was false. Donnie and his team are not professional and brides, you will work harder than if you didn't hire a wedding planner. I don't usually write reviews but Donnie and his team were so awful and almost destroyed my wedding, I don't wish this experience for any bride and groom......it is really hard to describe the numerous let downs Donnie and his team made my family and I go through. I was not a bridezilla, just had a vision and a budget and was told everything could happen, not one of those things did happen.....the tears, the worry, the stress, and the heartbreak were too much....and the fact that they handed me a bill that was going to be almost 3 times by budget was to much to bear. Everyone at the reception kept saying how amazing the music was (we went for classier Sinatra type music) and how they all couldn't help but sing along. Words can't describe how happy I am to have worked with Sean. He was so accommodating and understanding of our needs. Just two weeks before my wedding, I lost my grandpa. Then the night before the wedding, I lost my uncle. Needless to say that my family coming to the wedding was a bit of an emotional wreck...Sean was so amazing at reading the crowd at the wedding and kept playing dinner type music instead of full on funky dance music. Just him doing those simple things meant so much to me. Everyone was enjoying talking/singing at the tables, and I'm glad Sean understood that. We also had a lot of last minute details that my hubby got cold feet on (like the $$$ dance), along with our wedding schedule being 30mins AHEAD of schedule (unheard of!) but Sean was more than willing to help keep things moving smoothly. Sean also did a photo montage for after our dinner portion of the reception and it was adorable! So many pictures of my hubby that I hadn't even seen! He took the couple songs I picked out and synced them up perfectly with all the photos. Needless to say, Sean Lee is absolutely amazing!
