We hired DJ Scott for my daughter's wedding reception and it turned out amazing! We've heard more compliments than we can count - from tons of people - which affirmed we made the right decision to hire him! Background: When my friend, who is also a DJ, had a conflict with the wedding date (his daughter was getting married a few days after our daughter) - we started the search for a DJ without really knowing what to look for. We had seen DJ Scott at other events but at that time didn't know his name - fortunately we found his website and very fortunately, he was still available for the date we needed. Prior to the meeting I messaged my DJ buddy and asked if he'd heard of DJ Scott. The response was... "he's the best in Kitsap County." (Pretty good endorsement from a competitor!) My wife, daughter, and I met with Scott at Starbuck's and he walked us through his presentation. Every point he made hit home with us and he really nailed the reason why you need the best and why he is the best. From working with wedding planner/caterer/photographer, providing tools to compile a detailed schedule, tools to pick the setlist, special games and activities, participation dances - you name it and he's thought of it. We walked out and discussed what to do for about 5 minutes and all agreed, we HAVE to hire him. In all honesty, the cost was more than we were planning to pay, but after seeing his presentation, we immediately came to the conclusion that the reception would be the biggest factor by which guests will determine if they enjoyed the wedding. I walked back in and paid the deposit! We used the tools he provided to create the playlist, put in the wedding party info, etc. Also, we met one more time at Starbucks to do a final walkthrough of the plan. We gave him the contact info for the other vendors and made sure to cross all the t's and dot all the lowercase j's. On the day of the wedding, we had a fantastic ceremony at the local church after which we arrived at the hotel ballroom where DJ Scott was all setup - calm, cool, and collected. He was playing name that tune with the guests that had already arrived, making sure people did not get bored. As soon as he saw me we quickly discussed the next step which was the announcement of the bridal party. While he had a song playing, he met with the bridal party, made sure they were lined up in the correct order, made sure he knew everyone's names and how to pronounce them as well as their relationship with the bride and/or groom. It was a great introduction and lots of fun. Through the four hours of our reception: * he worked with the caterers on timing of the food * he released tables for the buffet to avoid congestion * he facilitated the toasts * he made sure the photographer was ready for all the big events (toasts, cutting of cake, first dances, etc) * he did a very cool confetti pop for the first dance of bride and groom * he hosted the shoe game * he facilitated the flower and garter toss (with a twist) * he had fun activities for kids * he always announced what was happening next so guests wouldn't miss anything (i.e. "5 minutes to cake cutting") Above all, he played great music and ensured everyone had a fantastic time. He taught songs and even danced on a chair while leading dance moves for everyone! He played several participation songs while leading the choreography. The dance floor was crowded the entire time and throughout the reception people told me how much fun they were having and what a great DJ we picked. Finally, when we were about fifteen minutes from the end of the reception, he asked me if there were any songs we wanted to make sure were played before the end (talk about attention to detail!). I told him, "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. He played it as the last song - the dance floor was crowded, air guitar solos were performed, and it was an amazing finale to our evening. After the fact, I can't believe we even thought twice about his fee. What he brought to our daughter's (and new son-in-law's) wedding was priceless and an experience we will ALWAYS look back on with great memories. We hired DJ Scott for our wedding that was held last night. I can highly recommend him. From the beginning, he was affable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about his craft. He gave us many options to choose from, the type of ambiance we wanted to achieve for the reception, and had so many fun interactive games to choose from. One of the best services DJ Scott offers is his online planner. I spent an evening one night personally picking all the songs to be played during the ceremony and created a long list of all the beautiful sappy love songs that my husband and I sent each other during our courtship. It was so easy, and DJ Scott even added some special music pieces that were important to us that I used for my processional! I can personally say that DJ Scott is a consummate professional. From the beginning of the day when he set up, to the time he left, he was the perfect coordinator and host. Most brides and grooms do not get married often, and honestly, I was not sure on all the steps, but I was extremely happy that DJ Scott was able to smoothly transition everyone from the ceremony to the reception area, release tables for the buffet so there weren't long lines, get people up for dancing, and coordinate cake cutting/toasts, etc. with such ease that as the bride, I was able to sit back, relax, and actually enjoy all the festivities with no stress or worries! Speaking of professionalism, and with no exaggeration, DJ Scott honestly saved my wedding. I think there are many families out there who have that one black sheep family member who feels the need to be the center of attention and can be hurtful and inappropriate. Unfortunately, I had one of those people as a guest at my wedding. During one of our fun interactive games (write down advice for a happy marriage), this emotionally unstable guest wrote down something very demeaning to women and was personally hurtful to me as a new bride. It was written with malice, and not in good humor. DJ Scott handled it wonderfully. Rather than ruin the moment by reading something inappropriate, he showed the card to the groom and myself. We were appalled at the comment and were so happy that he intercepted it. Unfortunately, this guest of mine had his ego bruised because his comment was not read, and the guest spent the night curse texting DJ Scott, and finished the evening by writing critical reviews of DJ Scott online, which you may or may not still see here. But through it all, DJ Scott did not mention the abuse to the groom and myself, and allowed us to continue to enjoy our special night in ignorant bliss. DJ Scott did this with a smile on his face, and handled a difficult situation with aplomb and complete professionalism. I cannot stress how much we enjoyed having DJ Scott at our wedding, and would hire him again in a heartbeat. He saved what could have been a disastrous evening, played all my sappy love songs, and kept my reception fun, happy, and romantic. He deserves every 5 star rating he gets! read more

I can not recommend DJ Scott enough! We had him as our DJ/MC for our August 4 wedding and I am absolutely blown away. He made our night amazing and magical, with very little effort on my part. Thanks to his exceptional professionalism and skill in the field, very little input was needed from me or my bridal party. We met DJ Scott once for coffee in Silverdale where he went over all his different packages (he has something to fit everyone!) and extra add ons we could do, and then broke it down further by explaining that we could request any song we like, use his online planner, etc. Once you book him, you get full access to his online planning website which is AMAZING. You can go through his song library and choose songs for all your special moments. He has a form for almost every aspect of your wedding reception, which is great! I am a super detail oriented person and it made me feel so at ease to know that my reception was in good hands. DJ Scott got to our reception site 2 hours early to get all set up and introduced himself to my husband and myself right away. He asked how the day was going and if he had everything correct. I had added on some last minute details and he had no problem incorporating these into the night. Once the party got started, DJ Scott introduced the entire wedding party which was SO much fun! The music he played was perfect for our crowd - he even got my mother out on the dance floor, which was amazing! He walks you through all the different dances such as the Cupid Shuffle, YMCA, the Wobble, etc. What takes the cake for me though, was the way he included my out of state friends. I had a lot of friends come out from Montana, and he asked them all to come to the floor and played some country swing for them. It was so much to watch them dance and have a good time. All in all, I can't recommend DJ Scott enough. If you want someone who is professional, will listen to your ideas and make sure your night is memorable for the rest of your life, this is who to go to! My husband and I just celebrated our 1.5 year wedding anniversary. We took some time to celebrate each other, the relationship we have grown, and reminisce about the amazingly nerdy and fun wedding we had! What we both loved so much about our wedding is all of the unique, slightly untraditional touches we were able to incorporate. I regret NOT having DJ Scott at my wedding! Being a photographer and working with quite a variety of people and services, you will always get what you pay for and my wedding day was proof of that. I had a family friend do my DJ services and it was a terrible mistake... Announcements had to be made by one of my groomsmen and unfortunately our DJ kept asking me what he should do, despite providing a timeline, a long variety of music, and meeting with him twice to go over everything... Now, I have seen DJ Scott work at more than one wedding and I am jealous of those brides and grooms! He is fun, interactive, keeps the party going, kind, and communicative. Finding a DJ that is the perfect mix of professionalism, fun and entertainment is hard! But with Scott, you get all those things combined. I hired Scott for a combination high school graduation party for 5 girls. He was superb. During set-up of the party, he saw things that needed to be done, consulted me and expertly took care of them. I was so impressed with his professionalism and his total commitment to the entire event flowing seamlessly - he exceeded my expectations. Our party started out as a formal family dinner, with an invocation and speeches, which he coordinated perfectly. Then, as we wanted, he was able to engage all party goers, young and old in games and create a more exciting and fun vibe. The party eventually morphed into a party for the entire high school, which is exactly what the girls had hoped and it was all because Scott kept the mood fun and exciting. We hired DJ Scott for our recent wedding and he did a PHENOMENAL job!! His specialties that really set him apart from other DJs are interactive activities and MC/coordinator roles he plays. I did not have a day of-coordinator and did not need one with Scott on the mike! He is very professional and able to ensure a wide and diverse audience has fun. My wedding had many older folks and a smattering of people who had never been to an American wedding before and were not familiar with the customs or songs, but all my guests commented on what a great DJ he was and how much fun they had with all the games we played. If you're hesitating because you think activities might come off as cheesy or cliched, don't!! There are so many different activities he suggests that you're certain to find a handful that fit you as a couple, and Scott is very helpful and willing to work with you to design your own custom activities as well. He also has a very diverse repertoire of songs and can play your requests even if they are unusual/international music, and will help you select songs that are more likely to get people dancing. GREED is what makes this "professional" TERRIBLE. I would give this dude 0 stars but since I can't just know that one star is being way to generous. This guy is a thief. Why? As you know life took an insane turn in 2020, during a global pandemic when weddings everywhere were legally banned by our government he still thinks he deserves full payment, for doing nothing. My niece was already devastated to have to reschedule her wedding not once but multiple times all thanks to this horrible situation the entire planet found themselves in. This guy also charged her an ADDITIONAL reschedule fee each time, in addition to her original deposit/fees. His excuse for not budging on the matter is thats just how he's done it for 30 years. Ok well to that I asked when exactly in the last 30 years were weddings and funerals banned?? This situation is no comparison to the last 30 years combined. So do yourself a favor and find someone with a heart and compassion. Ripping off newly weds for something beyond their control is shady not to mention morally wrong! You would think a professional who claims they cares would be more accommodating under the circumstances. It is funny that yelp says to take covid-19 into consideration when reviewing. Scott was our DJ/MC at our wedding on Saturday July 16th, 2016. He came to set up 2 hours before our wedding started on his own time. All we needed to supply was a long table with a tablecloth. His set up was clean and neat. I pride myself on detail and so did Scott. He worked with the crowd even got out on the dance floor and taught some new dances. He was friendly and courteous and was dressed professionally and very polite. He was very flexible when things were changed last minute We highly recommend Scott Fijolek for any and all your musical events and his prices are great and believe me he is worth every penny spent and more. He is not only a very talented, knowledgeable, and fantastic DJ, he is the most sincere, wonderful man I have ever met and talked to, only second to the wonderful man I married. DJ Scott was great! We really appreciated he and his wife's communication with us before and during our wedding. After hiring him, we were provided with a website which walks you through the planning stage; such as picking a music list, games, wedding party introductions, and a timeline of events. He was really helpful in making suggestions based on the projected composition of our guests. What we really appreciated was his follow through in making sure everything went as smooth as possible the day of our event. We had enough confidence in him that we ended up deciding not to hire a day of coordinator from our venue. When things started to fall behind during our wedding, he would gently tell us that we needed to move on to the next item or he would offer to push an event further back. DJ Scott was AMAZING! The minute my husband (fiance at the time) and I had our first meeting with him we knew we had to have him DJ our wedding. He is more than just the regular kind of DJ. He goes above and beyond and is always in contact, and helped us along the way in any way he could and very very kind. Everything before the wedding day was perfect then the wedding day came and again DJ Scott made it perfect. The music for the ceremony was right on and then when the reception started not a single person was bored. He created an atmosphere the literally EVERYONE enjoyed with the games and the dancing and the traditional things that he created a little spin on was so much fun! It has been 2 and a half weeks and people are still saying how amazing our DJ was and how much fun they had. DJ Scott and Jina pulled our entire reception together, and made it an unforgettable night. My husband and I had several people tell us our wedding was the most fun they have ever had a wedding. I was so impressed with their organization, and attention to detail. They ran the entire reception, and everything flowed perfectly. DJ Scott did an amazing job at my wedding in June! I would recommend him to anyone considering getting a DJ. Before we hired Scott, he sat down with us and showed a great presentation with everything he offers, reviews, and talked about events he has done in the past. It really sold us into choosing him! On the day of the wedding he was set up very quickly and ahead of schedule and played background music before the wedding started as guests were arriving and mingling. He had awesome music selection and kept the guests pumped up the whole night. Scott is INCREDIBLE! I've had the pleasure of photographing a few weddings where Scott was the DJ and I cannot express enough how much fun he is. So much fun, I couldn't help myself but join in with the crowd and dance! He's not an ordinary DJ. Scott takes his time in clearly communicating to the other vendors when certain events are taking place (i.e. when dinner is served, cake cutting, toasts, or special requests unique to the couple). That kind of extra care creates an incredible atmosphere for both the clients and vendors alike which, in return, makes for a fun and seemingly-effortless event.
