It was 15 days before the job was scheduled, & 75% of the time there was only 1 painter at our home, working only a few hours each of the days they were there. *Automatic payments without disclosure: 36% of the total cost was required to begin. We used the link in the email to make this payment, but we weren't expecting drafts totaling 75% of the work to be taken after only 6 visits from the painter. If draft payments are required, as the work is being completed, that should be disclosed in the quote. More importantly, the draft payments SHOULD NOT exceed the work performed. *Shoddy workmanship: The painters left an abundance of paint chips, and splatter on our concrete, flower beds, and patio furniture. Our contract included scraping loose paint, & 2 coats of paint. We brought in another painting company who showed us that 90% of our exterior only received 1 coat of paint. *Poor communication: Michael Light responded at first, but then he stopped responding to any messages. We had to ask the in person painter for updates on the work that needed to be completed, only to be told that the owner had not fully disclosed our job to them. We also had to depend on the in person painter to tell us when they could return. A worker should not have to carry the burden of the job on behalf of their boss. We sent emails, text messages, and voicemails with little to no response. After 55 days of the job not being complete, and no response from the owner, we had no choice but to terminate services.

Unfortunately my expectations were not met…read more Initially I contracted him for master bedroom and bathroom renovation in my newly bought house. The owner, Andy promised to start the project in 2 weeks, roughy end of August and game an estimate time of completion 2 weeks. The price was salty but again since he was highly recommended I assumed he will invent the world in my house. In reality he started midSeptember and finished in November. Money is priority for him and not client satisfaction. I gave him a second chance with the renovation of my other two bedrooms which indeed got done within the time frame promised, before Christmas BUT-guess what-I had scheduled to get my furnitures our of the storage Dec 31 and has no other choice. The trims and door frames in none of the bedrooms and master bathroom were not painted, the ceiling of one of the bedrooms was not painted and the walls were rushed to be covered with one layer and the precious colour under is visible. I had given explicit orders and those were stated in the agreement but not followed unless I had to bring those up. Andy is not honest. He did not supervise the work of people he collected from here and there and tried to cover up his shit with laughing like this was a joke. He was pretending like forgetting when it came to sending his invoices-like leaving electric charges in it when I had to find my own electrician in order to get the work done in timely fashion. He was paid by check, in the middle of the work and at the end. No sympathy for clients who had very high expectations and have no time to deal with his shit. He has lost respect in town for the same reasons. I finally stopped the rest of my house renovation with him and need to address what is left behind and then move forward. My furnitures are in and imagine how can I get the painting down from ceiling to the floor without damages. And the time I need to put into this again. Disaster. Don't go with him. I was the one enthusiastic to support a local business but he has no understanding and humanity in his mind.

They scraped the old paint off my house…read morewithout using a drop cloth ( who does that?) , promised twice to clean it up, but once paid never bothered to show up. There are paint chips EVERYWHERE. This has created a massive headache and extra expense in doing the front gardens because there is paint under the rocks, in the soil, etc, all of which has to be tediously removed. I guess I should have asked if a drop cloth would be used and clean up done. My bad.
