But I have really liked coming to this DMV since it was built. The old tiny one was horrible! This one is large, open, with 11 service windows to keep the line moving. There are also drive thru windows if you don't want to get out of your car. The last time I was here, I went through the drive thru and it was pretty slick. Today I chose to come inside and rub elbows with the common folk. Even though it was busy, the wait wasn't terribly long - maybe 20 minutes with 7 windows operating. Don't complain, people. Play a game on your phone, text your mom and say hi, and write a few Yelp reviews! The time will fly by. During the pandemic, masks are required to come inside. Chairs are spread out to accomplish social distancing. You can also make an appointment, which will reduce your wait time even more. You can schedule it online at www.dmv.utah.gov The employees here are friendly and very good at their jobs, even during this craziness with COVID. So glad I live in Davis County!

Had had to fill out all kinds of paperwork because the title had a / between The two people who owned the ATVs names, Supposedly in DMV talk that means "and" I always thought it could mean "OR"..... I've had titles with both names on it with the wording AND, and the wording of Or. Nonetheless, I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork because I only had one person signed the title. Reminding you this was a $200 purchase. I had to call my wife and have her take a picture. I had to send an email with the photograph to the Farmington DMV. Honestly, folks they work for us. The glare from the lights on the kiosk machines can be hard but the noise level here makes it horrible for testing. Now I get talking to the customer to get them ready for X reason but side conversations that produce more noise is totally unnecessary. It's even worse when the employees themselves have loud conversations with each other or when on the phone. They even have a sign hanging that reads "Testing in progress quiet please", but what's the use of that when they don't even obey they're own sign. Thank God I was able to pass my test through all of that, but I saw others frustrated while taking there test. It's so unfair to them and no one likes wasting there money. Hopefully things change. First DMV I've been to that I've had this issue with.

The wait was less than 10 minutes and I was at a gate speaking with a DMV employee reviewing my information to provided me with a new drivers license ... well a temp anyway. Next I had to take the exam. I had 25 minutes to take it. The two people in the exam area were very helpful and were sure to help us with remaining time. The place needs to be empty at closing/ 6 pm. The test is open book, and it's online. I passed! Overall experience was amazing. Every step of the process was easy and efficient from the website application, changing my address, date and time selection, arrived a little late and no one was phased (except me), short wait time, talking with a DMV agent, taking my test and getting my temporary license. I called and there was a short recording about what number to press for certain kinds of questions, then I got a live person almost immediately. He was friendly and answered my question clearly and offered some additional, helpful information. Within 5 minutes I had the info I needed. Way to go, DMV! DO NOT walk in and wait for an available clerk unless you absolutely have to. With an appointment, the wait is 5-20 minutes. Without an appointment the wait can be 1-3 hours or more when they are busy. The chairs are not that comfortable! Ask me how I know! Lol!!

Everyone was very nice here, but the woman taking license photos should be fired…read more I took time out of my day on my 40th birthday, because that was the first appointment available after I made an important flight reservation 8 weeks out and needed a Real ID. This gave me plenty of processing time from the 4-6 weeks that I was told it would take to receive. When taking my photo, she had me move my bangs aside. I did all the other steps needed, which took about 1.5 hours of my birthday, and received a printed temporary copy of my license. After 4 weeks of checking online status and seeing that it had not been sent to production yet, I was able to determine that my license was being held because I needed a new photo because of "hair in my face". Does no one have bangs? And my face is fully visible, but that's beside the point. NO ONE notified me of this. I did not receive an email, call, text or notice when looking up status that this was the reason for the hold up. Furthermore, the person taking the photo is supposed to know if there is an issue WHILE YOU ARE THERE, because I asked how to ensure that this doesn't happen again when I take time out of my day today (for which I don't have time) to go get another photo taken. I now may not have my Real ID in time to travel, even though I allowed ample processing time. Thanks a lot to the picture taker and to the DMV system failing miserably.

I tried to set it up at a different DMV location who told me they had not done one as of April 2026, was unaware how to do it, and didn't seem interested in figuring it out. They referred me to the Taylorsville office. Once there, I was taken to Meg's counter. She was aware of the program but said I was the first person she knew of to ask for it. She wasn't knowledgeable of the entire process but took the time to research the fairly complex procedure and assisted me in getting set up so that all my vehicle registrations expired in the same month and could be renewed in one transaction, saving me two trips to the DMV each year. Meg was extremely pleasant, professional, and helpful. She dedicated over an hour to me and remained laser focused on meeting my need successfully. Considering the complexity of what I was looking to do, hard to imagine getting a better representative to help me. Kudos to Meg and I hope she can be recognized for superior customer support.
