I wish I'd known how it was going to be before i chose them over my other options. I have been forgotten numerous times, I don't think any of the nurses have been on-time, and rarely do they have supplies with them or have caused me to run out by not ordering enough. I have heard so many excuses I think they are starting to repeat them. I have actually had to refuse a nurse because she has made things worse. They are so desperate for nurses they will take anyone, and are working the ones they have too much that they are getting negligent. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

Since this is only day two of my home care, I will relay yesterday's hour. I had to call the office mid afternoon as no on was in touch as to the time of my appointment. Shortly after, the nurse knocked on my door (?) and her first words were " I'm so busy, I really don't have a lot of time" . Actually that was repeated as nauseum. She was constantly on the phone, couldn't answer my questions "because I'm just here to get information. I consolidate upset and told her if she didn't have time for ME, which is why she was in my home, perhaps she should leave. It may have been a bad day for her but as a post surgery person, I think mine wasn't the best I've had, either. She spoke so quickly and how other patients treated her, I again said the focus should be on me. When she finally got her information, she got on the phone regarding some personal needs of mine, the answer was a quick no, BUT nurse Douglas did me a favor of getting some food into my home AND promised not once or twice but three times that she would call their Social Services dept to have them call and she would as well. It is 4:40 and no such phone call. Called them and the phone was OFF. An I happy? So glad to have a couple of day's food I am grateful for that. As I said, it's only day two, the phone is shut off ( wish I had that but of info, no word to a completely anxious person. Perhaps IF they call/ show another time, we will all improve. read more

I am the patient that is in need of IV medications, blood draws, and physical therapy in home. My surgeon is in Gainesville and is one of the top surgeons at the University of Florida Shands hospital. I have been working with this company over two weeks now and cannot get the nurses or the physical therapist to come on a regular basis and to call me with 24 hours notice to schedule their appointments with me. I have asked repeatedly to have regular days for the nurses to visit and the physical therapist. I cannot get anyone to call me in advance. I have missed blood draws that my doctor in Gainesville needs to have access to. I've been singularly unimpressed with the professionalness of this company and their staff and their own inability to comply with my request for at least 24 hours notice and a regular time and regular days for visits. I do not recommend this company. But I have not found anyone better either. read more

I used Doctors Choice for many weeks and was never really satisfied with their services. Their visiting nurses were pretty good, but then again, they weren't employees but rather worked on a per diem basis so they didn't have to give them benefits, I assume. The nurses didn't know anything about fistula wounds, which was my main issue, but they helped in other areas and tried at least. The main office was chaos, it seemed. I never once received a call back, so if I didn't reach who I needed, I stopped leaving voicemails and called the visiting nurse instead. I also had to pay over a thousand dollars for specialty medical supplies, because the supply orders the office were supposed to help facilitate for me either never arrived or were weeks late. Finally, without any notice at all, they let me know I had used up all of the home visits the insurance company allowed (though I found out later from another agency that there was a way around it) and I had to scramble to set up further visits and assistance. I think the people try but are probably understaffed and undertrained to handle their volume of patients. read more

Dont use this company. Second rate nursing care at best. From not showing up for requested appts, showing up hours late for scheduled appointments, contaminating sterile fields for PICC dressing changes, ordering supplies without getting supply numbers from patient willy Billy and when contacting the manager get "man spoke" and no resolution to rectify the issue for other critically ill patients. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more
