Thorough but efficient exam led to immediate hope though I'm taking the painful and difficult (but safer) route of physical therapy. He has been very supportive of my choice, he explains the evolving situation with great respect to my intelligence and overinflated sense of medical and anatomical knowledge. Nice equipment and good professional staff in his group clinic practices, but I have had problems with the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin that has very poorly trained telephone staff. It's hard to get that initial appointment in, and they are so much more concerned with patient ability to pay than actual health but physicians have little control over these sorts of things nowadays.

In fact as time has gone on, I no longer look at these individuals as providers, but more so like friends! From the first step in the door everybody says good morning and asks you how your weekend, or week, has been. Do they honestly care? I don't know! He pointed out that I had limited movement in my foot, and ankle (from an old ankle fracture) that contributed to my hip, and low back pain. He prescribed some therapy that I continue to do on my own, which has my eliminated my back pain. On the days it flairs up, I know what exercises to do to alleviate it. There is a feeling that you get when you are in a great amount of pain that the staff here "gets it"! From the moment you walk through the front door you are greeted by the front end manager, Holly. She is not only professional but her kindness and caring is second to none. She is very sensitive to your needs. So important to any business having someone like her running the front end. Once you are sent back Ryan was the first Therpyist to evaluate me and started me with baby steps to get me out of the ten plus pain level I was in. Since breaking my back twice in my life and having several surgeries I am very protective of letting anyone touching my back. Example and lesson learned are that there are a lot of physical therapists out there and in several cases, I left being in worse shape then when I started. But, not here. I returned for my 2 week post-op and they took my sutures out (kinda painful) and then I was on my way. I felt very taken care of by everyone I encountered on this journey with my back. I ended up with a flat right foot. It was fused. He created a disability for me, no cure. No improvement. I am still dealing with this and am considering malpractice. I am a medical professional and he has cost me too much down time where I lost thousands in pay. When I complained, their office manager, a man with an MS degree shut me off and told me I was no longer invited to receive their services. He blocked me from making further appointments. Told me I was not accepted to come back. Why? Think about it. Why? Be ware. When I see Dr. Engel on his television ad, walking down a road to a skippidity do-dah tune, then jumping up and clicking his heals together, pissed me off. I can't do that but he can. They closed thier doors to me because I complained. Do not go there.
