When we got there, were pleasantly surprised to see it was nearly empty. The location looks brand new and was very clean. A screen in the waiting room showed patients in front of you and estimated wait time. Ours turned out to be much shorter than expected, maybe 15 minutes. Our doctor was excellent, taking the time to explain what had likely happened, as well as the workings of the ear and a plan of treatment. Spent the majority of time on insurance stuff, paid $45 copay for nothing. The assistant took my vitals and gave me a strep test and a few min later the medical provider (np I guess?), looked at my paperwork, quickly walked out and back in with a mask and spent maybe 30 seconds with me. Said she'd send an antibiotic to the pharmacy. I asked about the strep test and she said it was negative but "who knows, maybe (I) still (had) it." Nothing else. There are signs in the front lobby warning about the over prescription of antibiotics and I feel like that's the only thing these places do. Took antibiotic for 2 days then stopped when I got my voice back and throat stopped hurting. She didn't say anything about the meds or how to take them. I don't know what I was looking for but it was slightly more interaction than that. Didn't tell me to try rinsing with warm water; didn't test for anything but strep. I guess if you're really sick and need antibiotics then go, otherwise there is no point. Our healthcare system is so broken. I pay so much for insurance... it all feels like a scam sometimes.
