I've been coming here for five years. I have three dogs that are all patients since they were babies. I brought my dog in the morning when they opened she was breathing rapidly and her stomach was swollen. They wouldn't even look at her. I begged please just come outside and tell me if she's dying on me. Do I need to take her to OSO. I'm not rich and everyone knows OSO is insanely expensive. The lady in the front went to ask the vet and I could see them talking. The look on her face was just annoyed and I could see her say no. The lady referred me to the urgent care down the street but they didn't open until 11am. I went and waited in the parking lot for them to open. She died right there next to me about an hour later. If she would have looked at her I'm sure could have at least been able to tell me she's dying and saved her the pain of choking on her own fluids for the next hour. I obviously will be taking my other two elsewhere for now on. read more

I have been taking my rescue pug to Doddridge for two years. They are OK for routine things like vaccinations but I have been dissatisfied with the care for my dog when she has been ill. My impression is they are more interested in running up charges than healing my dog. They have charged me for performing services that I did not request or authorize them to perform. They tried to convince me to have my dog for leptospirosis but couldn't give statistics regarding the number of cases treated in the County. When I declined the vaccine they asked me to sign a "waiver." When I asked them what it was they wanted me to "waive" they couldn't tell me. My impression was they were trying to frighten me into getting the vaccination. Compared to other vets in Corpus I consider their charges as being excessive even when compared to those of emergency veterinarians in the area. To get a copy of the vet's visit and examination notes I have to insist. I have not been impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the vets who have treated my dog. After I had been treating my dog with one prescription medication they sold me I discovered it had already passed its "Use By" date by several months when they sold it to me. One vet became angry at me because I pressed her for statistics on the efficacy of the medications she was going to prescribe. When I asked to see another of their vets for a second opinion, she left the exam room and refused to continue the visit. I had to return the followinh following week to see a different vet. The course of treatment that vet prescribed consisted of entirely different medications. That vet was able to tell me the general efficacy of those medications and the possible side effects I should watch for during administration of the treatment regimen. The vet who gave the second opinion was leaving Doddridge in a few weeks after that visit. My pug will finish that course of treatment in a few days. After the upcoming follow-up visit at Doddridge I shall begin using a different vet clinic to verify that the presenting condition for which my pug was being has been cured. read more

I would give this clinic a 4 star ladies at the front desk and the techs are all very sweet and caring my pets see and love Dr.Delcambre and Dr.Harper both are great and very kind Doctors. I recommend my niece to go in and she saw Dr. Green and was visibly unhappy with her visit she felt Green had a bad attitude and was very rude and was suggesting things that she felt were unnecessary. I also recommended my brother to go in and he saw Dr.Ochoa he has a hyper overly excited 60+# Labradoodle not aggressive but a little hard to handle and he felt Dr.Ochoa got flustered easily with his pet and become impatient with her tech not being able to hold still his big dog. Prices are a little on the high side but for my fur babies I'll pay whatever it takes to treat them. read more

Very friendly and helpful clinic. Made my worry very serious and they cared about my guide dog. Even tho there was nothing there anymore after they looked but none the less better safe than sorry. They informed me about the flea guard I was on that that might cause my guide dog to get his skin irritated. Very clean and nice place to take your dog. I love his new vet! The price for a visit (to me) it was not bad at all. $45 dollars to be checked out in a moments noticed. I called at 4:30 and they were able to see him at 5. EVEN BETTER! Other vet places that I have had the horrible pleasure of meeting sometimes could not see me for a week or two! Not here. If I could not do same day the next was two days away. Had no complaints until my last visit. I was told on the phone that my visit was going to be just $40, well I take my dog in and it ends up being $260. They even-lied to me about a medication in order to make the sale. They did al sorts of tests and procedures to justify them billing me so much money. Finally, they emailed me asking for my feedback and said they'd reach out but unsurprisingly, they didn't. will never take my dogs here again. i do believe this clinic was very good in the past from what I've heard but definitely not anymore. They did not tell us that one of our animals had bladder stones and needed them removed asap. it was on the report but that information was never relayed to us otherwise we would have made an appointment quickly vs two months later. I don't know if there are communication issues or disorganization going on but if you're going to charge as much as you do, the least you could do is make sure that I understand all the health issues going on with my dog. We've been going to this vet clinic for more than 20 years. Since the new owners took over a couple of years ago, things have dramatically changed, and not for the better. Every time you call it either goes straight to putting you on hold or someone answers, and put you on hold forever, also I needed a refill on the heartworm pills for my dogs and they said I needed to come in for a visit before they could refill it. I asked for just a one month refill and then I would bring them in when I got back from out of town, and they refused. my husband went online and just ordered it from Canada, and it is much cheaper. Customer service is everything, especially in this town. The clinic is definitely not what it used to be. read more

Dr. Delcambre performed a surgical removal of 2 lipomas on my 11 year old dog and it was a success! My dog also had to get 2 drainage due to excess space after removal of lipomas but Dr was sweet and patient in hearing out our concerns. read more

Took my new rescue Pug for allergy meds, scooting, and leash aggression meds. Although there are many meds prescribed by vets for anxiety and leash aggression, the vet who saw my dog knew nothing about any of them. Moreover, the vet wanted to do blood work for possible pain causes, it quickly became obvious she had not reviewed my dog's medical records when I asked when my dog's last blood work had been done. When she chocked the records it was obvious she hadn't looked at them prior to coming into the exam room. Needless to say, my Pug will not be returning to Dodridge as I have lost all confidence whatsoever in their standards of professionality in pet medical care. I wouldn't go to an MD who didn't look at my medical records before examining me. I would exercise no less diligence in regard to my Pug's health care. read more

The Doddridge Animal Clinic staff and Doctors are the best! A few days ago, both of my dog's got sick and had been throwing up nonstop for over 24 hours. They couldn't even keep down water. I called Doddridge Anand Clinic and was given an appointment for 30 minutes later. Colleen, the doctor, unexplained the costs of the tests she needed to run so I wouldn't be surprised. One of my dog's was extremely dehydrated and had IV fluid injected under his skin. Both of them needed anti-naseua injections and antibiotics. I had given my dog's treats made in China and that was the only change in their normally excellent diet so I was very scared. It's been three days and my fur babies are feeling better. I'm so grateful for the staff and Veterinary doctors at Doddridge Animal Clinic for saving my babies. read more

This was our first annual check up for both our cats. As with our first visit, the front office staff were very welcoming. We waited just a short amount of time and then went in to see Dr. Rasco again. He is very gentle, kind, and thorough. He checked their weight, temps, ran a culture on their ears (they had been scratching), and did a thorough examination of each of our babies. He gave them their annual shots and their rabies shot. Check out was very quick and we did not think that $120 each was not too much for 3 injections, a physical, and an ear culture. After we got home, both cats got very lethargic, which we kind of expected from the shots. However, late that night and the next morning, both got very sick with one throwing up repeatedly. We called the office that morning and Dr. Rasco called us back within minutes. He was very concerned and told us to watch for any other symptoms. Then, unexpectedly, he also called back right before closing time to check on them again. By then, they had perked up a tiny bit and we were able to give him better news. He said that he had notated their records and we would not ever be combining shots again or even using that particular brand of injection for either of them. We will definitely stay with Dr. Rasco! He is kind and very concerned; he's a keeper! read more

Scared for the safety of one of our dogs, I took him to Doddridge the morning after he randomly lost control of all his legs (Sat, April 29). The doctor examined him, slowly running her fingers down his back and said it was clearly a bulged disc near the middle of the spin. I asked if she needed to take x-rays.She said no and prescribed a muscle relaxer and steroid, saying he should be able to walk again in a few days. Sadly, I trusted her. Our dog, Job, only got worse!! So, Monday AM (May 1) I rushed him to his regular vet in San Marcos. They gave him a pain medication and said they weren't going to waste my time - he needed to immediately admitted into an emergency hospital. The doctor at Doddridge was SO WRONG. Our dog needed spinal surgery for TWO discs (not in his lower back) but his neck! Even the spinal surgeon said that the fact that he wasn't able to control ANY of his legs should have been a sign that the bulged disc(s) was in his neck. Pills weren't going to solve anything nor the wasted steroid shot the doctor from Doddridge placed in his lower back! Our dog was hospitalized for a week. We JUST got him back yesterday and he will have to undergo months of therapy to walk again. I regret ever taking him to Doddridge! Wish they'd give me my $116 back so we can put it toward the thousands we just spent for his surgery. WHAT A WASTE! read more

My visit with Doddridge Animal Clinic with Dr. Beasom was great. My dog, Marshall went in for his annual exam and vaccines. He had been having a little bit of loose stool which his fecal exam revealed was an infection. He received all of his shots, his heartworm and flea and tick medication, and antibiotics to treat his intestinal infection. We're to call Dr. Beasom next week to let her know how his intestinal infection is doing. Marshall is slightly overweight. Dr. Beasom calculated the number of calories he should eat daily and the calories he should eat to lose weight. I love the care Dr. Beasom gives my dogs. She is genuinely concerned about their health and carefully explains her recommendations and instructions for their care. read more

I had a very bad experience July 1st, 2022 with the front desk cashier Myrah (long black hair, black glasses, green nails). I booked online and their system kept rescheduling me but for the exact same time and date, so I was double booked. She made me and my Goldendoodle pup wait for over an hour and a 1/2, my poor baby was so depleted the staff carried him into the examination room. She then proceeded to over charge me for 1st time heartworm and flea pill. I spoke to Sarah the office manager and she was extremely apologetic and was very embarrassed of her office staff. She refunded my money and refunded my son's referral money that the front desk didn't want to honor. I will say the nurse and vet examination was good and I am very grateful to Sarah. Had I not had the horrible front desk experience I would have given them a higher rating. read more

Finding a vet for your pet is always a chore. We were recommended to go to this location to see a particular vet. When making the appointment the person obviously did not listen to a thing I said cause we arrived and saw a different vet. Then found out the vet we wanted was not even working that day. We scheduled our follow up very specifically making sure we saw the vet we wanted. Luckily that apt was with this correct vet. Next we were told another follow up will be needed to call in a week or so to pop in or drop off and this could be done on a Saturday. (BTW good luck on EVER getting in on a Saturday!) So this is we're it gets really interesting.... I called and one girl never cared to call me back, then the gentleman I got next was really helpful but what I was told for the follow up was incorrect. Then I spoke to a girl randomly on Saturday morning who thought we were coming in for a squeeze in apt which we would have to pay more for BUT this girl hung up on me cause I was expressing my frustration with this situation. YES HUNG UP ON ME. Then when I called back and told her she's very unprofessional she had the nerve to tell me I was unprofessional I don't work there I am a customer paying her paycheck. They seem to have a staff issue. The manager is very nice, understanding and willing to help fix issues but the bad taste by the time you get to the manager is already in your mouth. read more

We found a kitten limping down the middle of our side street. When picked up the mouth was all torn up. My neighbor and I took it in and they charged us (not our cat) $20.00 to euthanize. It now costs money to do the right and humane thing. read more

The vets and vet techs are great. Dealing with front of house is nightmarish. They do a fantastic job of making you feel like an inconvenience. The most frustrating thing is waiting an hour for a scheduled appointment. Morning or afternoon- it doesn't matter. A vet whose focus is on customer service would not keep pets, terrified, in the waiting room for ridiculous amounts of time. Clearly money trumps your furry loved ones at this place. Plan on being at Doddridge for 2 hours. Bring a book. A big one. read more

We've been taking our furry family here for a couple years now and our experiences have always been good but today was especially impressive. We decided to schedule yearly visits for all four dogs and our cat on the same Saturday morning. Despite their being busy and dealing with walk-ins as well, we only waited a short period of time and the front desk staff went out of their way to help us get checked in. Dr. Hughes and his assistant were absolutely fabulous despite the chaos that comes with five nervous animals in a small exam room, giving each pet a thorough physical and answering all our questions, as several of our pets have chronic illnesses. They calmly and competently handled our large, sometimes aggressive basset mix with confidence and a sense of humor, and treated all our babies with compassion. I was put into a back room where they kept all their meds and supplies (like a stock room). I had vets and Techs coming in and out to access the other rooms. This place was a mess - and not due to their construction. Phone receptionist upon initial appointment was short and rushed, walking into their waiting room was terrifying as it was only about 100 sqft - perhaps its different now - but that was too close for comfort with other dogs and cats waiting. When the visit started, there wasn't an exam room to go into, just a back area, no one talked us through what to expect, they just went straight into vaccines and were bothered when I started asking questions. Save your money. Find another clinic to care for your pet. This facility proved to me that it is motivated by greed and not meeting the needs of the pet or the customer. Buyer Beware. My two dogs received care at this facility for a period of three years. The veterinarians seemed knowledgeable, and the actual care given my pets matched their needs. However, when I purchased a new puppy, the office staff pushed a "wellness" plan they call "PAW PLANS". The office staff insisted that I would save money because service would be at a discounted rate. I signed the contract and began making monthly payments. The trouble came when I was forced to cancel the plan because of an unexpected move. The clinic retroactively charged full price for all service rendered. These were serviced that I had already paid for. The fine print on this contract does indicate that this is the case, but this kind of program is the definition of a scam. It is a completely unethical business practice to charge someone when, through no fault of their own, must leave the area. The staff at the facility made no effort to explain these penalties for leaving while pushing the program. It is unfortunate that a fairly good business resorts to "used car salesman" tactics to scam customers into buying a product that they do not need, then because of the fine print, charge extreme penalties for stopping service. The fee for pet service is high enough without being scammed by frivolous programs offered not by a sense of caring for your beloved pet, but by pure and simple extreme greed. The program itself is designed to make money on unsuspecting customers fooled into thinking they are doing something good for their pet when the program is simply put in place to scam customers out of their money. Find another place to take your pet. Doddridge Animal Clinic is not interested in pet care, they are only interested in squeezing as much money from the customers as they possibly can. read more

I have been taking my dog to this clinic for a few years already and hadn't had any problems until this weekend. I took my dog in for her annual exam with Dr Harper, real nice lady but when I got home I saw a tick on her, I started checking her fur and sure enough she had a lot more, I had to get her shaved just to be on the safe side. It freaked me out, she's an inside dog and there's no other dogs that get near her, and I do remember that one of the employees got there with lk 5 dogs and they all got near my dog so she picked up tick from dogs that one of their employees brought to the clinic. I hadn't had any problems with this clinic in the past but after this problem I will not be taking my dog there again. read more

We love this place. Hands down the best place we've ever been to. They're very kind with our animals, and Dr. Rasco is our favorite. He's solved weird issues with our dogs, and most recently, was able to solve all the digestive issues our cat was having for like $100, verses the THOUSANDS of dollars we had spent at another animal clinic just to find no solution. Seriously, it was to the point we questioned the quality of life our cat was having, and a simple fix from the vet was enough to help him become a happy cat for years to come. Seriously, try them. What an amazing animal clinic. We take all of our animals there and even have the paw plan prepaid pet care that they offer. The reason that we love them though is because they just are so patient, caring, and they don't guilt you into the unnecessary stuff that can be so dang expensive for our furbabies. I think the vet we like the most is Sandy. She listens to EVERYTHING and never judges when you make a stupid pet parent move. We brought our elderly dog, Gracie, in on a day that she had explosive diarrhea and the vet was so sweet to Gracie. She talked to her and kept her at ease. Anyway, We love Doddridge Animal Clinic and as long as we live in Corpus Christi, this will be out clinic! read more

First time I took my Bella (8 lbs Shih Tzu) here it was fine. Everyone was nice and friendly and they did a good job. Second time was awful! Bella needs a grooming with sedation due to many reasons. So, I drop her off and notice they have a new person cutting her. Disnt even ask how I would like her cut done. I get a call a few hours later with the lady telling me they had a slight incident but Bella is fine. They had knicked her eyelid while shaving her and had to have one stitch! Please tell me how that happened if she is already sedated? The lady didn't have much compassion about it either. So then I get a call again letting me know she is ready and the doctor talked to me telling me about what happened and the medicine she has to take is at no charge. So I pick her up and again they act like it's not a big deal and the lady who shaved her gives me the meds. I go home and give them to Bella over the next few days and I realize she starts throwing up for like two days. I figured it was the meds upsetting her tummy. Well low and behold I check the meds and one of them isn't even hers!!! Same last name and it is also a type of pain med so when I saw that I didn't really question it. I should have looked more closer when I got it. But they shouldn't have ever given me someone else's medicine. So when I call them again....they are nonchalant, no compassion and all she said was I could bring her in to get checked out. Why would I take her back there?? Just ridiculous. They could have seriously hurt my dog or killed her and I don't even get any kind of apology or anything. I even responded back to their email surgery and explained all this and no answer. Still. Major negligence and no consideration or compassion from this business. Such a shame! Praying this does not happen to anyone else. read more

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE IN AN EMERGENCY! They nearly let my 4 lb chihuahua die. In the past they have also "over billed" me. These Vets (exception Dr. Wasco) are not competent to diagnose complex emergencies. I went to Oso and they kept my tiny dog 1 night and diagnosed Endema. She was in an oxygen cage 24 hours. She is fine but watching her fighting to live was so painful. She is fine now thanks to Oso Creek Vets. DO NOT TRUST YOUR LOVED ANIMAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. New to Corpus and my adult indoor cat needed check up. (Dragging his booty) arrived at address listed here on yelp - clinic had different name/same phone number - only to discover they had moved. But i take 3/4 responsibility for not confirming the address. I was still seen despite having to drive to Doddridge address and wait time was maybe 10 min in main lobby. I add this part because my cat was in his own carrier but still very anxious with new sounds and mult dogs. Some people state wait times are horrendous but that wasn't the case for us. Vet and staff were very friendly and attentive. My bill was a tad high but not unreasonable - approx $150 for exam, anal glands and sedation. Tigger came home with a significant abrasion to his nose that i wasn't told about. I was naturally upset but I'm sure it was accidental. He was very frightened and probably resisted leaving his carrier once i left. (I had to leave him for sedation since vet couldn't check anal glands wo it) Perks of this office include online scheduling and records. Pet insurance is offered if you're in need of regular visits. I am glad we won't have to make the stressful 4 hr round trip drive to Tigger's vet in Victoria. We will definitely stay with Doddridge Animal Clinic. I give 4/5 stars because i wasn't notified of the minor injury or address after i clearly stated i was new to area but still very happy over-all. read more
