This was my first time boarding Bobcat. I toured the cat condos and loved the little shelves and window they offered! Bobcat is extremely scared of dogs and I really appreciated that the cat condos are in a separate area so he doesn't get scared. The staff were amazing and very friendly. I received a few cute update pictures and texts about Bobcat while I was out of town which I loved! Bobcat came home happy and there was no change in his normal behavior. I'm glad I found a place that I can trust with Bobcat. Space is clean, friendly staff, and lots of updates are given. 10/10 read more

On numerous occasions (despite labelling her food) you did not refrigerate it and allowed it to spoil. My dog (despite having updated shots) contracted kennel cough, requiring emergency vet services. Your place is hardly a spa. Despite requesting she not be sprayed, you continually applied cologne after her baths. You're like the McDonalds of dog kennels. I'm 45 years old, lady. Never give advice-- particularly when you're the one who needs it. Perhaps you look into getting help with your own socializing skills. read more

I don't even know where to start. I recently moved to Texas. Today has been the worse day here because of the most horrible experience I had with Barkaritaville Pet Resort. I have two Goldendoodles, and took them from grooming today. Keep in mind I come from another State where obviously my dogs have been groomed since they were puppies. They are very good at grooming spots because they are regulars since their coat needs high maintenance. I am a person that hardly ever leaves negative reviews because I know what it takes to create a business, but I am also aware that the care, professionalism, and quality of services is hugely important .... ESPECIALLY when it has to do with people and animals. This is how it went ... I picked up my two goldendoodles from a full groom at Barkaritaville.. paid $200+. I was on a hurry to go to another appointment, so I decided to pay quick and take my dogs home because they had been there since 8am and were ready around 3:40pm. To my surprise when I get home .. I am just casually checking to see everything is good with them..NOO!!! both of my dogs are completely horribly groomed! I am not exaggerating, I really really mean it ... my TWO dogs are completely chopped .. 1) the most TERRIBLE / UNEVEN Haircut .. 2) their NAILS are chopped horribly! and 3) PARTS of the body are hurt (bleeding) 4) tbe tail seemed like it was just brushed and not even trimmed one bit... I can stay here for hours writing of everything horrible they did to my dogs hair ... literally it looks like a random person came in and did my dogs hair ... a totally not certified person. Unfortunately when I got home, it was past 6pm so it was close! I was not able to go back and speak today! My husband and I are extremely upset and sad ... we really really can't sleep... I have a knot in my throat .. I want to cry soooo bad ... my dogs hair was absolutely destroyed ... I love my girls and feel sooo bad for trusting this company ... my girls keep scratching themselves as if they went through a hard time (their skin seems irritated all around). Barkaritaville is a nice, clean facility. Accommodations are well maintained and clean, as are the outside play and 'potty' areas. The employees who actually handle the dogs (and cats) do seem to really care for the animals and their well being. The rules and procedures that every client must agree to seem thorough and well documented. However... The problem (which has led to injuries to both animals and employees) is that some of the rules designed to ensure that aggressive and/or dangerous dogs are banned are ignored by Barkaritaville's owners and management if those aggressive dogs owners have influence (ie multiple animals are accommodated). So even though your dog is likely to be well cared for and enjoy their experience at Barkaritaville, just know that there are dogs there which - by Barkaritaville's own rules - should not be there. read more

Second trip to Barkaritaville for grooming and second time disappointed. Just picked him up from a bath and cut and this is how they sent him home..... I asked for a cut, not a shave, and while the left him with some fur it's butchered...chopped up looking all over. And here's his feet. Nails hanging out, long hairs left handing off paws....looks like a beginners job -I could have don't this at home. We used Barkaritaville for the first time last Saturday for 3 for our 3 small dogs after reading all the good reviews and they were right. It was clean the people are friendly and appeared to really care for our dogs. 2 are getting up in years at 10 and 11 with one needing medication daily and they followed the instructions perfectly. Make sure and read the web site to know about your pets food and any other needs they might have. We are from Austin and wanted the dogs kenneled close to our hotel in case something came up, which it did not. All said and done we will use them again if we need a kennel in corpus. We have taken our dogs here for 5 yrs. They appear well cared for... the 3 stars is for the customer service which has been ZERO! Blair In particular was rude, talked over me on the phone, when I called to check on my babies, and let them know they would be picked up early by my daughter. (To book online you MUST choose an expensive package. We chose the least expensive pkg which was a total of $326 for THREE DAYS....) We were charged for 20 ... yes, that's TWENTY packages, AND our 3 days - $690.. FOR THREE DAYS(2dogs). So I called questioning this OUTRAGEOUS amount??? (I am staying in a 5 star hotel and it's not costing what this bill was?!)! BLAIR was rude. Condescending. And incorrect in her calculations of what my credit should be. She said "if I have misspoke..." And a "manager would call me tomorrow." No manager has ever called me ... They DID credit me the correct refund ( other than my dogs were picked up BY 12 - And we were still charged for the complete package for that day...) Basically pricing is outrageous and customer service is horrible. Obviously management does not care has no concerns whether we are happy customers or not they have still not contacted us I will not support this business again. read more

We came to Corpus for a short work/vacay and I needed a place for Mattie & Nyx to get a wash and a trim. The wonderful staff at Barkaritaville took great care of my girls. The staff was professional AND very compassionate. They totally lived up to my expectations based on their Yelp! reviews. Even though M&N only got a bath and a nail trim, the staff took the time to tell me how my gals took to getting both from strangers while on a road trip (I'm saying M&N were way out of their comfort zone - which is pretty narrow). This info will help me make the trip home more pleasant for them. I selected Barkaritaville not just for the great reviews, but because whenever there was a dissatisfied client, they reached back out to address the issue. After trying another "doggy day care" solution and feeling like we had abandoned our dog to a gulag, Barkaritaville was a breath of fresh air! Our 6-month-old was a little skiddish at first but, apparently (according to her "report card"), adapted well after a couple hours. When we came to pick her up, we peeked into the common, play area and saw her running around with the other dogs, clearly having a good time. We drove away and she was alert, in good spirits and is now sleeping happily at my feet. We asked for an impromptu tour of the facility and they were happy to oblige. Walking through, we saw that it was very clean, well lit, well organized and all of the dogs we saw looked happy and well taken care of. Also, of note, is the attention to the health of our dog prior to leaving her for the day. We were required to fill out a form detailing her vaccinations, vet info, known issues - questions we were never asked at the other facility we tried. I don't think we're going to have ANY problem boarding our dog at Barkaritaville. She really seemed to enjoy it and their prices are reasonable considering the level of attention and care we've witnessed. So, I have to say, "Thank you," for making sure our friend is happy, healthy and we are actually looking forward to her next stay. read more

Tried dropping my dog off for day several times...they say that they are full...fine!!!! Call back several weeks later they say sure we have lots of space....they ask for the dogs name and they say your dog is not update on the kennel cough....y couldn't they have told me several times before when I called to ask of they had room in daycare....pissed me off the lady said that's not our responsibility to make sure he is up to date...I said yea it is cause we pay for your services....dogs shots are good for 1 to 2 years but they require kenel cough every six months to keep enrolling ur dog in daycare!! read more

This place is amazing! First, I went inside to ask about the DYI Dog wash. The entire staff were so friendly and even gave me tips on how to efficiently work the machine. I purchased the tokens. My husband and I, as the dynamic duo that we are, were able to bathe our three pups for under 10 minutes. What would typically take us about 45 minutes - 1 hour at home (+ the messing Tub at home) took 10 minutes. Incredible. We took our dogs to be bathed after Thanksgiving and they did an okay job. I sent in a review and got a call the following business day asking what happened. I was asked to bring them back to have their bath redone and wow! They did a fantastic job! Very happy with how the dogs look and smell. Hands down Barkaritiville is the best daycare ever. My sweet Rylie knows where he's going when I say...are you ready for daycare. He rides proudly in the car and when his Grammie turns the corner and is almost there his tail is wagging like crazy. It's always so clean and fresh smelling when you walk in the door. Always greeted by an amazing employee. He's a rescue that had some fears and his daycare has brought out the best in him. He has also stayed in the overnight suite for several nights and did very well. I don't feel guilty or worried when I leave him because I know he's in the best care. I recently boarded my dog while away on vacation for 6 days. The resort was perfect for my dog. He had his own little back yard outside. When we first started taking our fur baby to this doggie day care, it was great! And our baby loves it also. But little by little things started getting really confusing with the pricing and the way they are running the office. I am really impressed with the staff,they all seem as if they all truly love what they do and love our babies. And let's face it, we love and treat them like our real babies," they are loved that much." Anyway, the way the office is running and pricing now with monthly membership, and than going up to $35.00 a day. That is crazy expensive. It's a shame because I really liked the place just not all the new policies put in to place lately with pricing, especially because things will and can come up. I am already looking in to another location for my baby, I felt I had no other ulturnative. Hands down, this is the best facility in Corpus Christi to board your animals! I'm actually checking my dog in today, haha! The facility is absolutely amazing and the cleanliness is unmatched by other boarding sites in the area. Clean is an understatement when describing the facility, they even go so far as to wash your personal dog bedding/blankets on the day of check-out. Liz and all of the other staff members go above and beyond to accommodate my pups special needs. My dog Stella is a rescued bait dog; and due to her past, she has developed both separation anxiety and anxiety in regards to being in kennels. I don't know how the staff did it - but now she actually enjoys jumping out of the car and going to Barkaritaville. I literally have zero remorse/unease when dropping her off. I know she's in the best hands. I dropped a star because of the hours/pricing. 7:30am drop off is entirely too late. I know personally, I have to be at work anywhere from 6:30-7:30am. I know that there have been many request to bump the drop-off time to 6am. I'm curious to see when management will at least entertain the idea and test it out. As for pricing -my dog has to stay in one of the "suites" due to her anxiety. If I'm paying $45/day, additional playtime should be included. I shouldn't have to pay an additional $14/day for my dog to be allowed to run outside for 15 minutes. read more

Don't let the name fool you, this place is the cat's meow! I looked around Corpus for a place that would kennel my special needs cats, preferably together. I visited several locations and asked for a tour. Other places reeked of feces and urine and had small metal cages in with the loud dogs. And then, there's Barkaritaville. Barkaritaville has a separate unit in the front of their building away from the dogs. The "kennels" are like little hotel rooms with shelves and some have windows. The units can either be opened up vertically or horizontally to the attached units to extend your cat's room. There is no foul odor. The cat-wing is quiet and clean. I have four cats, three of which have Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This means that in my cats' cases, they are very clumsy, the fall...a lot, they walk funny, their heads shake when they're excited, and unfortunately as much as they try, they sometimes miss the litter box (two of them lie down while they go to the bathroom). This was the first time I left them anywhere. To accommodate my cats and their needs, they opened three units to give my cats additional room, yet be together. When I came to pick them up, I found the cutest little sign on the kennels notifying the staff and other customers about my cats. (See the picture I uploaded...I wish I would have taken photos of the cats in the their luxury suite.) The staff was so accommodating, friendly, and amazing!!! One of my kittens bumped his nose on the door and it scabbed a bit. They called and emailed me to let me know. When I saw it, it was nothing, but it was nice to know that they notified me of a minor incident (that could just as easily have happened at home.) The price is well worth it!!! This place was only $3 more per cat and I was given a 20% discount for kenneling multiple cats. Ask for a tour if you're in doubt. Ask other places to see their accommodations and you will see a huge difference. read more

We loved taking our dog here. But after a year or two we just decided it wasn't worth it. They put limits on packages (30 daycare days have to be used in 45 days,etc). Pricing went up on different services, and when I voiced my concerns about the packages and daycare hours, the owner/manager NEVER returned my email or called me. The office/daycare/grooming staff are just lovely, but the fact that no one ever reached out to me even after I followed up told me all I need to know. read more

9 dogs came in to Oso Creek Animal Hospital just in the last 2 days that were very ill after their stay at this facility. Employees at the front desk are shockingly unaware at how loud and inconsiderate they are by actually saying to others in front of clients that they are encouraged to lie by their own "Pet Care Specialist" leaders to the pet owners about their pups falling ill under their care. There were several days we came in and you could smell the vomit and diarrhea coming from the back of the facility. I've heard of other pet owners dropping off their dogs in good health and picking them up sick. The owners are negligent and dishonest. We overheard a very loud front desk girl talking to her co-workers about how something viral is going around in the lodging areas and that they had to tell pet parents that they didn't get sick there when in fact they did. Many dogs became sick at the same time. I overheard a girl with clear glasses and blonde hair say curse words at the front desk and another girl with bangs talking loudly and inappropriately laughing while ignoring other customers. Not only are more and more animals becoming sick here and the entire staff is lying about it but the young ladies at the front desk are not helpful or honest about the situation and very unprofessional. We will be calling the animal hospitals in town about Barkaritaville being a health hazard. This is disgusting business. read more

Update - Owner acknowledged that my dogs must have picked up fleas at their location because 1) her employee did not advise me upon pick up of whether or not my dogs had fleas 2) her employee said she gave my dogs flea baths (without my permission) 3) her employee didn't charge me for the flea baths. There is no way a business is going to forget to notify an owner of fleas, plus not get permission to give flea baths, plus not charge for the baths. She refunded me the cost of my grooming charges, which I feel was appropriate. read more
