We enjoyed the standard grilled dogs -- nice and snappy - in Chicago and " mega" versions - and also a special bleu cheese dip for the fries. Very friendly counter staff. Lots of outlets for elwctronics. The only negative we have about the place is location; it's on a busy street, with only a tiny lot. (There's a puic lot kitty- corner, but requires a trek.) Great hot dogs! I had the Macdaddy dog. The one with Mac n' Cheese and bacon. It was delicious. My girlfriend had the popper dog and loved it. The fries here are amazing, and you get a lot of them. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll be back for sure! read more

Tired of a regular hot dog or chili dog. Don't worry dog centrals got the hook up. Creativity is the key to there success. people want different and they have it. Went for lunch today...wow what a surprise! Filthy tables and filthy napkin dispensers on every table. How do I know? Since we were only 3 of the 5 people in there, I decided to search for some napkins that weren't in a food smeared dispenser. I went to EVERY table...each dispenser more gross than the other. Literally covered in chili dog toppings. I thought about asking the young man who was making a half-hearted attempt at wiping down the tables but since I watched him skip all the dispensers in his vicinity, I just gave up. That's what it feels like happened here... they just gave up. Too tired? Let's skip cleaning today. Too hungover? We'll clean tomorrow. Too busy? Nah, three workers, 5 customers, I think they could find time to wipe things down. You know once you see something so disgusting that you can't stop looking? That was me! Once I looked around, I noticed the floors under the tables were freaking covered in dirt and food. The window sill next to our table had enough Fritos on it to feed an ant colony for a few decades. I forced myself to look only at our table as I was losing my appetite fast! Too late! I couldn't tell you if the dogs were good or not...appetite gone. So, unless the owner(s) seriously overhaul their cleaning procedures, I'm out. They need someone to give a crap and clean that place up!! read more

I just gave a hotdog 5 stars! Actually I didn't but if I were only rating hotdogs I would give it top dog ratings. Grew up in Chicago so I've eaten many different hotdogs but could never find a decent dog in Michigan. This place would be iconic in Chicago. Great tasting custom recipe and produced exclusively for Dog Central by Dearborn. Not something you could buy at a store. Some of the combinations seem crazy but people were ordering every concoction on the menu. I recommend you try one simple to taste how truly good the dog is and another from the wilder side of the menu. Easy to get to if traveling 127. Can't understand why they haven't expanded throughout the state. If Chicago's Portillos can grow from a truck into a multi million dollar chain I can't see Dog Central not being able to do the same. read more

This is a place to go to have some HIGH quality hot dogs at a really affordable price. on Tuesdays you can get any hot dog, fries(really good), and a drink for $5 bucks. they also have the new Coke Freestyle, so you can never worry about getting bored with the hundreds of drink choices. another plus is that they are open until 3:00AM on the weekends~great for late nights in downtown Mount Pleasant. After buying the dog he got gloves on at least. There were about 6 hot dogs on the grill I was hoping they weren't on there long. Yup. They were. Hot dog was like a plastic coated something or other. This is an interesting place, and they have lots of options to choose from. The hot dogs themselves are good, tasty and made well. However, the buns are just white and doughy. The toppings are flat and processed. The chili isn't really chili, it is beaf with gravy. If you want a basic hot dog, it would be ok. But, they need a lot of work on their toppings and buns if they want to be a great, or even good place. read more

Likely the worst dining experience to date. Found several small pieces of sharp hard plastic throughout my Kraut dog. Called to notify them of this danger. Asked to speak with the manager. After waiting several minutes on hold was told that he was unavailable. Proceeded to tell person on phone about this problem. All that he said was oh so sorry about that thanks for calling and hung up. Did not even ask my name or a call back number. Other observations about Dog Central. The only greeting I received upon entering the establishment was that of what appeared to be 3 hung over college boys shuffling about. Not so much as a hello. They seen me standing there and did not bother to acknowledge me even though I was the only customer in the establishment. When waited on I could not ask questions because all I could hear in response was mumbling. Seen hot dogs on grill behind service counter. Appeared they had been sitting there for quite some time. Although I can not confirm this as I never had a nibble of my dog! Should have left at seeing this, but did not want to appear rude. (Go Figure on that one). The horrid service, and lack of concern for customers will ensure that this establishment does not last long. read more
