Doggy Lama was the only company that responded that they had staff experienced with birds. Dani came by to meet my bird before my trip and did a wonderful job taking the time to get to know her and understand her needs. Unfortunately, my travel plans changed and I ended up not needing pet sitting services this summer. Even so, I wanted to leave a review because I was so impressed with the company. They were responsive, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about both their clients and their pets. Communication was excellent, and their website made scheduling and payment incredibly easy.

Their pricing is more than reasonable, and the services are the best. Molly was recommended by a friend as "the dog whisperer" and that is correct. We have a little senior guy who loves other doggo's but doesn't have any teeth to defend himself, so it has been really difficult to find a boarder for him to be safe. Even having friends who he is familiar with staying at the house hasn't worked out. Insert Doggy Lama. We did a trial run of boarding with Molly, and he passed so we were able to schedule a weeklong vacation knowing he would have the best time. He got to hang out with some other senior dogs and have long walks in the wilderness and lots of doggo time. Molly kept us posted daily with pictures of our little man being a dog. The experience way outperformed expectations. We are working to sign our guy up for some walking adventures throughout the week. Go see Doggy Lama for all your needs.

For context- Lucy has always been an inside cat with little exposure to lots of people since I adopted her. A year and a 1/2 ago, I moved back in with my Mom and it took her a whole year for Mom to gain her trust. So that said- she is NOT fan of car rides to the vet for things like exams and nail trims. Last year, I decided to opt for a mobile vet service and it worked out well. Fast forward a few weeks ago, walking around the lake and I stumble upon this sign advertising affordable nail trims and pet walks for the fur babies. Immediately, I went to Yelp to check them out and verify if they were legit and the reviews put me at ease. I decided to contact Teairra a couple of days ago about doing my baby's nail trim and she talked me through the expectations of the process and I was on board ( I would need to hold my baby while she did the nail trim- my baby does not like me to hold her- SIGH) Needless to say, I had major anxiety. She showed up yesterday, on time- and had such a calming presence about her while I explained Lucy's background with strangers. Immediately, she came in talking very softly slowly gaining Lucy's trust with treats and sniffs. She showed me how to wrap Lucy in a burrito like style while she trimmed her nails and I kissed Lucy's nose. She exuded great kindness and patience. After, she sat by Lucy feeding her treats to continuously gain her trust even after the visit. Excited to know she also does house visits and I will be using her next time I go on an extended vacation. Lucy doesn't warm up to many people but Teairra has a gift and a calling. WE THANK YOU!

He's very reliable and always makes sure that Rufus is getting attention and affection - something that he didn't get from other pet sitters. They were also able to handle pop-up travel - another plus. My only negative - and it's more of an industry thing perhaps - is that it's costly - $25/day. That really adds up when I have to be on the road for a couple of weeks. That said, I would MUCH rather pay MLFYP that amount than, say, a kennel or PetSmart. Overall, they've been great and I'd definitely recommend them highly.

My latest sitters Bill and Nancy are wonderful with my 3 cats. My cats are very shy, and I know that Bill or Nancy do everything they can to respect that and try to make a connection with them on their visits. Sometimes one of the cats might want to play or get petted or maybe not. They are always well cared for and I can relax on my trips knowing they are in the best hands. They want to know in detail every detail of the routine, so they can make sure things are normal as expected for the kitties. When I get home there is a handwritten letter on my table from the sitter, telling me welcome home and some stories of how it went while I was gone. The founder/owner Wendy is one of the nicest most caring people I have ever met. Her love of animals and her experience and knowledge is obvious and as a pet-parent that gives me peace of mind. I would highly recommend Wendy and Mothers Love.

I'm so pleased to be able to update this review from 2010. How time flies!…read more Our dear Penny whom Shasta helped us with back then passed away in 2015. We started working with Shasta again in 2017 when we got our new pup, a border collie rescue. He came to us emaciated and poorly socialized, needing love and positive experiences to bring him out of his shell. Shasta gave us much-needed training advice, and from there her staff started walking Hugo on group walks, which he's done once a week since 2018. He enjoys these walks so much; they provide wonderful socialization experiences. All the treats and training in the world can get a dog so far, but a strong adult with a great pack really helps with confidence-building and calm. Hugo walks with Toni, who send us pictures of him each week with his crew. I can tell that Hugo is happy with Toni and his pack: as we release him to the car (to maintain social distancing), our pup who usually does not like to leave my side will happy run down the stairs to greet him and hop in the car! Shasta also runs Puptown for boarding. We've only needed this service once, but having been in there and knowing Shasta for so many years, I know that this would be a great resource as well. It has been a pleasure seeing Shasta grow this business for over a decade, and watch it continue to provide the same excellent service it did in the beginning. If you need training support, especially with difficult dogs, a weekly walking group, or more, Bow Wow is a great choice. Review from 2010 I love Shasta. She has walked our dog for well over a year. She been amazing. We have worked with four dog walking companies, and Shasta is a cut above. As a handler, Shasta knows dogs and dog behavior. We switched to her when we were having some behavioral problems with our dog at home, especially after walks. Shasta worked closely with Penny and we've seen huge improvements in her behavior. Last year our dog needed surgery; Shasta worked with us on her rehab, and continues to be conservative with her play to ensure that she stays strong. As a business person, Shasta has been great. She handled our initial interview, paperwork, and invoicing professionally. We LOVE her daily dog walk "reports"--these little report cards let us know how our dog was feeling, what she did, and (sorry for the detail) even if and how she pooped! Who could ask for more? Our dog loves Shasta, responds well to her, and behaves well at home after a walk with her. That's what matters most.

They are a wonderful team that treats these dogs like their furry children. Shasta and her team have been awesome, helping to transform these loving, high energy dogs to obedient and happily exercised ones. One of our dogs is socially awkward -- he's gotten kicked out of almost every doggy day care in the East Bay. o_O The off-leash hikes are must haves for them and our backyard - you should've seen what these two did before we hired Bow Wow Ventures! They're worth every penny. I'm not kidding when I say our dogs love them. When they hear the truck coming, they're raring to go. And they're the only ones we call when we need to board them. I cannot recommend them enough.
