I've been training with Brandon for close to 3 years now and I can look back to where I began and see just how far I have come with his instruction. I've trained with other black belts throughout these 3 years and I can say without a doubt that Brandon's skill level is on par with all of them. He isn't complacent in his own training and always seeks out new jiu jitsu skills to keep himself and his students sharp. He knows just what level to spar with you at so that you are always on your toes and improving but, not so far ahead of you that you can't see what is going on. He does on occasion give a black belt level reality check of your skill set which is very good in my opinion as it keeps us all humble. My son also started training with me at the same time I had began, he was 12 at the time and now 15. I have seen him go through quite a transformation with his jiu jitsu in that amount of time and I really can't think of a better bonding experience between father and son. I only mention my son in this review because we are all protective of our children and it is one thing to entrust your own well being to someone else's training but, it is quite another to entrust your child's safety to another person. I fully trust Brandon's training and would not have my son train anywhere else. The martial arts gym is not only about the instructor though. It is about the students and the personalities you come in contact with in your training. We have a good number of upper level as well as beginner level jiu jitsu practitioners, so you will have a great group to start your training with or to hone your skills if you are an upper level belt. You won't find guys who want to smash your face in at this gym but, you will find all of us to be even tempered and willing to help you move forward. Everyone here has a unique element that they bring and you won't be disappointed if you come in to train with us. As far as the strength and conditioning classes go if you think you are peak physical condition then I challenge you to come to one of Brandon's strength and conditioning classes to test yourself. These classes are not about just pushing your physical boundaries but, about seeing if you can overcome your mind telling you to quit. Even if you aren't in peak physical condition I can't think of a better way to get yourself into shape as these are dynamic exercises that really work the entire body, not like some boring treadmill or machine that targets individual muscles. All martial arts gyms are not created equal. Having been to others around town, I have to say that Dojo Body Mind is the cream of the crop. I have visited several times, am basing my review on all of my visits. Dojo teaches Fitness/Athletic Conditioning, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, and more-the classes are phenomenal, and the establishment is a family owned business. Brandon has a true passion for the sport, and has a gentle, genuine spirit, even though he will also drive, push, & encourage you in a positive manner! The studio is located in No-Da, approximately a mile past Dairy Queen and the Harris Teeter, on the right side of the street. The classes are small and intimate, Brandon does a great job at creating workouts and drills for a group with different skill/experience levels. You will need to bring water to class, or purchase on site, but I definitely plan to continue training with him, and have referred several friends in addition. read more

Phenomenal place to train! The atmosphere is very welcoming, clean and fun!!! Added bonus, you get to try a few classes FREE to see if its a fit for you! The workouts kick my butt and I love it, I've never felt better in my life! You get instruction from high level teachers with tons of knowledge and experience in all classes! You will get a work out like you've never had before at Dojo!! Brandon is an amazing teacher and instructor, one of the few black belts in Charlotte. Good atmosphere, excellent teaching and great workouts. What else can I say? Have been training at the Dojo since I moved to Charlotte and could not find a better place. The JiuJitsu is top of the line, and the conditioning and kickboxing classes are not behind. Close to uptown, with parking space. Awesome! read more
